5. ASSEMBLY
5.1. Drawer removal from enclosure
- Unlock the drawer if required and open the drawer fully and squarely until it stops. The ratchet catch, which safely holds the drawers shut, releases when the drawer handle is gripped. Remove the loose components, items 3,4,5 and 6.
- With the drawer fully open against the stop, place one hand beneath the drawer and the other on the handle.
- Lift the drawer and withdraw. Refer to diagrams for drawer roller path and the drawer roller.
Diagram Description (Fig.2): Shows the drawer stop mechanism and the path of the drawer roller along the enclosure runner during removal.
Diagram Description (Fig.3): A close-up view of a drawer roller, highlighting its function within the drawer slide system.
5.2. Fitting the enclosure to the bench
- Locate the two bridge channels (item 7) from beneath the bench at the required centres (refer to Fig.1 and Fig.5). As a suggestion only; position the bridge channels centrally about the bench width for best access.
- Offer the empty drawer enclosure up to the bridge channels aligning slots to the captive nut holes in the bridge channels.
- A second person is required to screw the enclosure to the bridge channels. DO NOT tighten at this stage.
- With all four screws (item 8) fitted, with at least three threads engaged on each nut; slide the enclosure to the required position (refer to Fig.6) and tighten all screws.
Diagram Description (Fig.5): Illustrates the bridge channels (item 7) and their suggested placement beneath a workbench for mounting the drawer unit. The 287mm centre spacing is indicated. A view from beneath the bench is shown.
Diagram Description (Fig.6): Depicts the drawer unit enclosure being attached to the bridge channels using screws (item 8). It shows the alignment of slots with captive nut holes and the sliding adjustment for final positioning.
5.3. Drawer Mullion Partition
- Fit central mullion partitions (items 3 and 3A) centrally with self-tapping screws (item 5) through the pre-punched holes. Fit transom plates (item 4 and 4A) for partitioning as required.
- Fit the rubber safety caps (item 6) to all self-tapping screw projections, from the underside of the drawer (refer to Fig.4).
- Locate the drawer rollers (refer to Fig.3) with the enclosure runners (refer to Fig.2) and slide the drawer/drawers fully back into the enclosure. Generally, this is the reverse of removal. DO NOT force at any stage.
Diagram Description (Fig.4): Shows the underside of a drawer, highlighting the placement of safety caps (item 6) on self-tapping screw projections and the internal partitions (items 3, 3A, 4, 4A).
