Introduction
This document provides a quick start guide for the Overview Artemis Servotorq II Integrated Servo Motor. It is designed to help users quickly get up and running with their new servo motor.
Getting Started & Support
For comprehensive setup and operation, users are directed to the following resources:
Important Precautions
Users should observe the following safety precautions when handling and operating the Artemis motor:
- The motor contains semiconductors sensitive to electrostatic discharge (ESD). Handle and store in an ESD-safe environment.
- The motor operates on a nominal 48V DC supply, drawing up to 1A DC. Avoid hot-plugging the power supply.
Reference Information
The Artemis motor features an I²C control interface utilizing 12V signalling levels. Refer to the Technical Manual for detailed interface circuits and operational specifics, including the initialization routine which involves a slight rotation and current draw dependent on inertial load.
Pinout Reference
The Artemis motor uses a JST ZPD 24-way connector. Key pin assignments include power inputs (48Vin, GND), communication lines (I²C SDA, I²C SCL), and pass-through signals. The I²C Address Select pin can be configured for specific addresses (0x29 or 0x28) by connecting to GND or leaving open, respectively, on the main motor PCB.
For connector housing and leads, refer to:
- Mating Housing Part: ZPDR-24V-S
- Pre-crimped Leads: SZPD-002T-P0.3
