Installation Guidelines
Clearances and Placement
Top View Diagram: This diagram illustrates required clearances for optimal air circulation and installation. It specifies a 1-inch minimum clearance at the rear for ventilation and connections, and a 3/8-inch minimum clearance at the sides and top. It also notes the location for recessed water lines (for ice maker models) and recessed electrical outlets. For door operation, it highlights the need for sufficient handle clearance to allow for a 90° door opening. An additional note advises that for installation adjacent to walls or cabinets, a 20-inch clearance is recommended for a 140° door swing to ensure full access to crispers, while a minimum 3-inch clearance only allows for a 90° swing with restricted access.
Side View Diagram: This diagram shows the product's physical dimensions. 'A' indicates the height (including hinges & rollers) as 60-5/8 inches. 'B' indicates the width as 28 inches. 'C' indicates the depth (including door) as 29-7/8 inches. The diagram also shows the depth with the door opened to 90 degrees is 56 inches. It points out the water line inlet location as being on the left bottom rear and the power cord location on the right bottom rear.
General Installation Notes
- An electrical supply with a grounded three-prong receptacle is required. The power supply circuit must comply with the current edition of the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70) and local codes & ordinances.
- Always consult local and national electric & plumbing codes.
- Ensure the floor is a level surface of hard material capable of supporting the fully loaded refrigerator.
- Maintain minimum clearances: 3/8" for sides and top, 1" at the rear for installation, proper air circulation, and plumbing/electrical connections.
- For optimal performance, avoid installation in areas where temperatures drop below 55°F or rise above 110°F. Do not install in direct sunlight or close proximity to heat sources like ranges or dishwashers.
- Keep the front grille unobstructed for proper ventilation.
- Recess electrical outlets when possible.
- An Optional Ice Maker Kit (PN # IM116) is available for ice maker-ready models.
- A water recess on the rear wall is recommended to prevent water line damage.
- Water pressure for the cold water line must be between 30 and 100 pounds per square inch (psi).
- Copper tubing with 1/4" O.D. is recommended for the water supply line.
