Congratulations on purchasing your new VTech product. Before using this product, please read the Important Safety Instructions. This manual contains all the feature operations and troubleshooting necessary to install and operate your new VTech product. Please review this manual thoroughly to ensure proper installation and operation of this innovative and feature-rich VTech product.
What's in the box
Connecting the Baby Monitor
Use only the power adapters supplied with this product. Ensure electrical outlets are not controlled by wall switches. Power adapters are intended for vertical or floor mount orientation. Ensure parent unit, baby unit, and power adapter cords are out of reach of children.
Connecting and Charging the Battery
Install the battery as shown. The parent unit runs on a rechargeable battery or AC power. To continuously monitor your baby, use both battery and AC power simultaneously. The battery alone allows cord-less operation for a short time.
Notes: Use only the supplied battery. If the parent unit will not be used for a long time, disconnect and remove the battery to prevent leakage.
Replacing the Battery: Unplug the battery connector, then pull the battery out. Follow installation steps to install a new battery.
Charging the Parent Unit Battery: Upon first connection and battery installation, the parent unit powers on automatically. The battery icon indicates battery status.
Notes: The battery is fully charged after 16 hours of continuous charging. Charging time is longer when the parent unit is on; turn it off for faster charging. Standby time varies with sensitivity, usage, and battery age.
Battery Indicators:
- No Battery Icon: No battery installed; operates on AC power. Install battery.
- LOW BATTERY Icon and Flashing Light: Battery has very little charge. Charge without interruption (approx. 30 minutes).
- Solid Battery Icon: Battery is fully charged. Connect to power when not in use to keep it charged.
Powering On or Off
Baby Unit: Press to power on (power light on). Press and hold to power off (power light off).
Parent Unit: Press and hold to power on (screen on). Press and hold again to power off (screen off). The parent unit powers on automatically when connected to power or battery installed. The baby unit also powers on automatically when connected to power.
Parent Unit Overview
- Visual Sound Indicator: Shows sound level detected by the baby unit. Green lights indicate moderate sound; red lights indicate higher sound (e.g., crying).
- LCD Display: Shows information and status.
- Microphone: For speaking to the baby.
- Volume Down Button: Press to decrease speaker volume. Press repeatedly to turn off volume.
- MENU Button: Press to enter the menu. Press again to return to the previous menu while in a menu.
- Speaker: Outputs sound.
- Battery LED: Light on when charging, flashes when low battery, off when running on AC or battery only.
- Volume Up Button: Press to increase speaker volume.
- SELECT Button: Choose an item or save a setting in menus.
- Power Button: Press and hold to power on/off. Returns to idle screen from a menu.
- TALK Button: Press and hold to talk to the baby.
- Power Jack: Connects to power adapter.
- Belt Clip: For attaching to clothing.
- Battery Compartment Cover: Houses the battery.
Baby Unit Overview
- Night Light Button: Press to turn the night light on or off.
- Microphone: Detects sounds.
- POWER Light: On when the baby unit is on.
- PAGE Button: Press to start or stop paging the parent unit.
- Power Jack: Connects to power adapter.
- Speaker: Outputs sound.
- Temperature Sensor: Detects ambient temperature. Beeps when temperature reaches alert values (low limit 20°C, high limit 30°C).
Parent Unit Display Screen Messages
- LOW BATTERY: Parent unit battery needs recharging.
- NOT LINKED: Link between parent and baby units lost for over 10 seconds.
- PAGING: Parent unit is being paged by the baby unit.
- SAVED: Selection has been saved.
- TALK: Voice connection to the baby unit is active.
- °C: Displays real-time temperature in Celsius detected by the baby unit.
Parent Unit Status Icons
- Connection Status: Displays signal strength (strong, moderate, weak). Flashes when the link is lost.
- Night Light: On when the night light is turned on.
- Lullaby: Displays when the baby unit is playing a lullaby.
- Sound Alert: On when sound alert is active. Flashes when loud sounds are detected.
- Vibration Alert: On when vibration alert is active. Flashes when loud sounds are detected.
- Volume Off: Displays when the parent unit speaker volume is off.
- Battery Status: Animates when charging, solid when fully charged, flashes when low battery. No icon when no battery is installed.
Operating Range
The operating range is up to 1,500 feet (450 meters) outdoors or 160 feet (50 meters) indoors. Actual range may vary due to environmental conditions and interference.
Positioning the Baby Monitor
Cautions: Keep the baby unit out of the baby's reach. Never place or mount the baby unit inside the baby's cot or playpen.
- Place the baby unit more than 3 feet (1 meter) away from your baby.
- Bend the temperature sensor away from the baby unit to avoid temperature detection deviation.
- Place the parent unit more than 6.5 feet (2 meters) away from the baby unit.
Caution: If high-pitched noise occurs, ensure units are more than 6.5 feet (2 meters) apart or turn down the parent unit volume.
Testing Your Audio Monitor
Test the monitor before initial use and regularly thereafter.
Caution: For hearing protection, keep the parent unit more than 6.5 feet (2 meters) from the baby unit. Move the parent unit further if high-pitched noise is heard, or press the volume down button.
- Ensure both baby and parent units are on.
- Speak towards the baby unit's microphone. You will hear the sound at the parent unit, and the visual sound indicators will light up.
Note: If the parent unit displays NOT LINKED and flashes, move the parent unit closer to the baby unit (maintaining the minimum distance) or check power connections.
Tip: Increase parent unit speaker volume if sounds from the baby unit are inaudible.
Adjusting Speaker Volume
Baby Unit: Press or on the baby unit.
Parent Unit: Adjust from VOLUME 1 to VOLUME 5, or turn it off. The default volume is VOLUME 3.
- Press or when the parent unit is not in use.
- Press or to choose BABY VOLUME, then press SELECT.
- Press or to choose the desired volume level, then press SELECT to confirm. The screen displays SAVED and a confirmation tone is heard.
Note: The baby unit speaker cannot be muted.
Lullaby Feature
The baby monitor has five lullabies. You can play them remotely from the parent unit.
- Press MENU when the parent unit is not in use.
- Press or to choose LULLABY, then press SELECT.
- Press or to choose a lullaby, then press SELECT.
- Press SELECT again to choose PLAY. The screen displays SAVED and a confirmation tone is heard.
To stop lullaby: Follow steps 1-3, then choose STOP and press SELECT.
Notes: The parent unit displays when a lullaby is playing. The baby unit must be turned on to access the LULLABY menu.
Talk to the Baby Unit
Broadcast messages from the parent unit to the baby unit.
- Press and hold TALK on the parent unit. The screen displays TALK.
- Speak towards the MIC on the parent unit.
Notes: If the parent unit speaker volume was off, it returns to the default level after talking.
Adjusting Sound Sensitivity
You can set the baby unit's microphone sensitivity to hear sounds all the time or only above a certain level. The higher the sensitivity, the more sensitive the baby unit is.
Sensitivity Levels:
- High Sensitivity: Parent unit speaker is constantly on, hearing all sounds.
- Medium Sensitivity: Parent unit speaker turns on for soft babbling and louder sounds.
- Low Sensitivity: Parent unit speaker turns on for loud babbling and louder sounds.
- Lower Sensitivity: Parent unit speaker turns on for crying and louder sounds.
- Lowest Sensitivity: Parent unit speaker turns on for loud crying or screeching sounds.
- Press MENU when the parent unit is not in use.
- Press SELECT to select SENSITIVITY.
- Press or to choose the sensitivity level.
- Press SELECT to confirm. The screen displays SAVED and a confirmation tone is heard.
Note: The baby unit must be turned on to enter the SENSITIVITY menu.
Night Light Control
Turn the night light on or off using either the baby unit or the parent unit.
Using the Baby Unit: Press the night light button.
Using the Parent Unit:
- Press MENU when the parent unit is not in use.
- Press or to choose NIGHTLIGHT, then press SELECT.
- Press or to choose ON? or OFF?.
- Press SELECT to confirm. The screen displays SAVED and a confirmation tone is heard.
Notes: The parent unit displays when the night light is on. The night light operates even if the parent unit battery is out of charge or turned off. The night light icon disappears from the parent unit LCD if the link is lost.
Sound Alert
Turn on sound alert to be notified by the parent unit when the baby unit detects loud sounds. This feature is preset to OFF.
Once enabled, is shown on the LCD. When the visual sound indicator reaches the red light range, the parent unit beeps and flashes.
- Press MENU when the parent unit is not in use.
- Press or to choose SOUND ALERT, then press SELECT.
- Press or to choose ON? or OFF?.
- Press SELECT to confirm. The screen displays SAVED and a confirmation tone is heard.
Vibration Alert
Set the parent unit to vibrate and alert you to loud sounds detected by the baby unit. This feature is preset to OFF.
Once enabled, is shown on the LCD. When the visual sound indicator reaches the red light range, the parent unit vibrates and flashes.
- Press MENU when the parent unit is not in use.
- Press or to choose VIBRATOR, then press SELECT.
- Press or to choose ON? or OFF?.
- Press SELECT to confirm. The screen displays SAVED and a confirmation tone is heard.
Notes: The parent unit vibrates briefly after setting vibration alert to ON.
Resetting to Default Settings
Use this feature to restore default settings.
- Press MENU when the parent unit is not in use.
- Press or to choose RESET, then press SELECT.
- Press SELECT again to choose CONFIRM?.
Finding the Parent Unit
Use this feature to locate misplaced parent units.
- Press PAGE on the baby unit. The parent unit rings and displays PAGING.
- To end paging, press any key on the parent unit or press PAGE on the baby unit.
Notes: Paging rings the parent unit even if the speaker volume is set to OFF. The baby unit cannot page the parent unit if it is off, out of range, or in talk mode.
General Product Care
- Avoid placing near heating appliances or devices generating electrical noise.
- Do not expose to direct sunlight or moisture.
- Avoid dropping or rough handling.
- Clean with a soft cloth.
- Do not immerse units in water or clean under tap.
- Do not use cleaning spray or liquid cleaners.
- Ensure units are dry before connecting to mains.
Storage
When not in use for an extended period, remove the rechargeable battery from the parent unit. Store the parent unit, baby unit, and adapters in a cool, dry place.

Disposal of Batteries and Product: Crossed-out wheelie bin symbols indicate products and batteries must not be disposed of in domestic waste. Dispose of responsibly to protect the environment.

- CAUTION: Do not install the baby unit above 2 meters.
- This product is not a substitute for adult supervision. It is not a medical device.
- Do not use near water.
- CAUTION: Use only the provided battery and adapters. Risk of explosion or damage if wrong type is used.
- Ensure proper ventilation; do not block openings.
- Do not insert objects into product openings.
- Do not disassemble; take to authorized service facility.
- Test sound reception regularly.
- Periodically examine components for damage.
- Be aware of potential privacy loss with wireless devices; reset periodically and power off when not in use.
- Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the product.
- Not intended for use by persons with reduced capabilities unless supervised.
- Strangulation Hazard: Keep cords out of reach of children (more than 3 ft / 0.9 m away).
- Never place the baby unit in a cot or playpen. Never cover units with anything.
- Keep the monitor away from other electronic devices that may cause interference.
Precautions for users of implanted cardiac pacemakers: Keep wireless devices at least six inches from the pacemaker. Do not place wireless devices directly over the pacemaker when turned on.
Electromagnetic fields (EMF): This VTech product complies with EMF standards and is safe when handled according to instructions.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Baby monitor not responding normally: Disconnect power, remove/reinstall batteries, reconnect power, wait for synchronization.
- Parent unit screen not on: Battery may be empty or not connected to power. Connect to power.
- Baby unit POWER light not on: Baby unit may not be connected to power. Connect to power.
- High-pitched noise: Units may be too close. Ensure they are more than 6.5 feet (2 meters) apart.
- Parent unit reacts too quickly to sounds: Adjust sensitivity to a lower level or adjust parent unit speaker volume.
- No sound / Cannot hear baby cry: Parent unit volume may be too low. Increase volume. Sensitivity level may be too low. Adjust sensitivity.
- Parent unit beeps: Sound alert feature is on and sound is detected, or baby unit is out of range. Move parent unit closer (but not less than 6.5 feet). Battery may be low; charge for up to 16 hours.
- Cannot establish connection / Connection lost / Sound interruptions: Baby unit may be out of range. Move parent unit closer (not less than 6.5 feet). Other electronic products may cause interference; move monitor away from them.
- Battery icon not shown on LCD: Battery may not be working. Contact customer service for a new battery.
