Rinstrum C3 Series - C320 Data Sheet
Product Overview
The Rinstrum C320 is a compact panel mount indicator designed for mobile applications such as forklifts, platforms, inside truck cabs, crane scales, and LCD OEM applications. It is ideal for basic weight-control or level-control functions, offering an improved operator interface with a multi-coloured backlight. The C320 can be combined with desk mount or IP65 boot accessories for versatile housing options.

The C320 supports a new range of accessory cards for expanded functionality, including communication cards and expansion cards.
Key Features and Connectivity
- Power: Wide DC operation (5-24V) with USB lead for onboard OEM applications, eliminating the need for third-party power supplies.
- Serial Ports: Two RS232 bidirectional serial ports, configurable for network, printing, or remote display functions.
- Inputs and Outputs: Two digital inputs and two high-side digital outputs that are electrically isolated, capable of driving low voltage DC actuators directly.
- Data Storage: Onboard data storage compliant to WELMEC 7.2 (alibi memory DSD).
- rinLINK: Magnetically coupled link on the front fascia for easy in-situ updates and setup, saving installer time.
- Keypad: Flush polyester overlay with mechanical keys, offering durability, ease of cleaning, and resistance to chemicals and UV.
- Printing: Supports multiple standard print dockets and fully programmable print formats via the rinPRINT drag-and-drop configuration tool.
Advanced Setpoints
The C3 instruments support up to 8 setpoints, with setpoints 1 and 2 linked to onboard digital outputs. Setpoint status can be used to directly drive onboard outputs, sound a buzzer, change display backlight colour, or be transferred to external control systems via modbus RTU or field bus expansion.
Setpoint functions include:
- OVER/UNDER target
- CHECKWEIGH: OVER, UNDER, PASS
- Status (motion, zero, net)
Setpoint outputs can be latched and reset from remote inputs or external control.
Smart Weighing Backlight
The C320 features a bright, vivid backlight that changes colour automatically as pre-assigned target weights are reached. This provides immediate visual feedback to the operator, indicating UNDER (orange), ACCEPT (green), or OVER (red) weights.
