Anchor Detail
Diagram Description: Anchor Assembly
Illustrates the components of the Domestic Wedge Anchor:
- d: Diameter of anchor
- dbit: Diameter of drill bit
- dh: Diameter of fixture clearance hole
- h: Base material thickness
- hnom: Minimum embedment depth
Note: The minimum base material thickness (h) should be 1.5 times the minimum embedment depth (hnom) or 4 inches, whichever is greater.
Length Identification
Anchors are marked with letters (A through S) corresponding to their length. For example, Mark A indicates a length from 1-1/2" up to but not including 2", while Mark S indicates a length of 11".
Mark | A | B | C | D | E | F | G | H | I | J | K | L | M | N | O | P | Q | R | S |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|

Length identification mark indicates overall length of anchor.
Installation Instructions
Diagram Description: Installation Steps
Illustrates the four-step process for installing the Domestic Wedge Anchor:
- Step 1: Drill Hole - Shows a drill bit creating a hole in the base material to the specified depth. Emphasizes using the correct drill bit size and meeting ANSI Standard B212.15 tolerances.
- Step 2: Clean Hole - Depicts removing dust and debris from the drilled hole using methods like dust extraction, hollow bits, suction, or forced air.
- Step 3: Insert Anchor - Shows positioning the washer on the anchor, threading the nut, and driving the anchor through a fixture (if applicable) into the prepared hole until the minimum embedment depth is reached.
- Step 4: Tighten Anchor - Illustrates using a torque wrench to tighten the nut and anchor to the specified installation torque (Tinst).
