This manual provides detailed instructions for the Interphone U-COM 6R headset.
1. ABOUT
1.1 Product details
The Interphone U-COM 6R is a motorcycle communication headset. Key components include:
- Main unit
- Boom microphone for flip-up & jet helmets
- Wired microphone for full-face helmets
- Volume +, Volume - buttons
- Phone button
- Music/Power button
- Status LED
- DC Power, Charging & Firmware Upgrade Port
- Intercom button
- Microphone 2-way connector

2. HOW TO INSTALL
2.1 Install main unit
The main unit can be installed using either an adhesive bracket or a clamp bracket.

3. GETTING STARTED
Basic operations:
- Power on: Press and hold for 3 sec.
- Power off: Press and hold for 5 sec.
- Volume increase: Press VOLUME + once (1 sec).
- Volume decrease: Press VOLUME - once (1 sec).
- Charging: Connect USB cable.
Note: Any USB charger with FCC, CE, IC or any local approval can be used. U-COM 6R is compatible only with USB device with 5V DC input.
4. PAIRING WITH OTHER BLUETOOTH® DEVICES
Pairing enables the headset to recognize and communicate with other Bluetooth® devices.
4.1 Pairing with Mobile phone / TFT systems
- Ensure Bluetooth® is enabled on your phone/TFT.
- With U-COM 6R on, press and hold the INTERCOM button for 5 seconds to enter the settings menu (LED turns blue).
- Press the VOLUME + button once to start phone pairing mode.
- Search for new Bluetooth® devices on your phone/TFT.
- Select "U-COM 6R vx.x" from the list.
- If prompted, enter PIN 0000.
- U-COM Voice guide will confirm successful pairing.
- Confirm any additional authorization requests from your smartphone.

4.2 Second mobile phone pairing
- Ensure Bluetooth® is enabled on your second phone.
- Enter the U-COM 6R settings menu (hold INTERCOM button for 5 sec, LED blue).
- Press the VOLUME + button twice to activate second mobile phone pairing mode.
- Search for new Bluetooth® devices on your second phone.
- Select "U-COM 6R vx.x" from the list.
- If prompted, enter PIN 0000.
- UCOM Voice guide will confirm successful pairing.
- Confirm any additional authorization requests from your smartphone.
The primary phone has priority in case of simultaneous calls.
4.3 GPS Pairing
- Ensure Bluetooth® is enabled on your GPS.
- Enter the U-COM 6R settings menu (hold INTERCOM button for 5 sec, LED blue).
- Press the VOLUME + button three times to activate GPS pairing mode.
- Search for new Bluetooth® devices on your GPS.
- Select "U-COM 6R vx.x" from the list.
- If prompted, enter PIN 0000.
- UCOM Voice guide will confirm successful pairing.
- Confirm any additional authorization requests from your device.

5. MOBILE PHONE USAGE
5.1 Making and Answering Calls
- Incoming call answer: Press PHONE button once (x1).
- End call: Press PHONE button once (x1).
- Reject incoming call: Press PHONE button for 2 sec.
- Phone assistant trigger: Press PHONE button once (x1).
- Speed dial: Press PHONE button for 3 sec.
Note: GPS device navigation audio will not be heard during a phone call.
5.2 Siri and Google Assistant
Access Siri or Google Assistant by pressing the PHONE button once, or by using a wake word like "Hey Siri" or "Hey Google" into the microphone.
5.3 Speed Dialing
Up to 3 phone numbers can be stored for speed dial (requires "advanced mode" enabled via UNITE APP or INTERPHONE Device Manager).
5.3.1 Using preset speed dial numbers
With ADVANCED FEATURES off: Press PHONE button for 3 sec.
With ADVANCED FEATURES on:
- Enter the Speed Dial menu.
- Navigate using VOLUME + or VOLUME - buttons.
- Select the desired speed dial number with the INTERCOM button.

6. MUSIC
6.1 Playing Music with Bluetooth® Devices
The Interphone U-COM 6R can play music from Bluetooth® devices with A2DP profile (smartphones, MP3 players, Motorcycle TFTs).
- Music play: Press PHONE button once (x1).
- Music pause: Press PHONE button once (x1).
- Next track: Press VOLUME + button for 1 sec.
- Previous track: Press VOLUME - button for 1 sec.
6.2 Music sharing
Music can be shared with another U-COM control unit during a two-way intercom conversation. Both units can control music playback.
Note: Music sharing cannot be activated simultaneously with an intercom conversation.
To start/stop music sharing: activate intercom conversation first, then press the MUSIC button for 2 seconds (until the second beep).
7. BLUETOOTH® INTERCOM
7.1 Intercom pairing
U-COM 6R can be paired with up to 3 other UCOM or Sena units.

Pairing is only required the first time; units will recognize each other subsequently.
- Press and hold the INTERCOM button on units A and B for 3 seconds (voice prompt "Intercom pairing", red flashing LED).
- Repeat for units A and C (3 sec hold, voice prompt "Intercom pairing").
- Repeat for units A and D (3 sec hold, voice prompt "Intercom pairing").
After a few seconds, units will pair, and the intercom communication will begin (LEDs flash blue twice).
7.2 Two-way Intercom Conversation
After pairing, start/stop intercom conversations by pressing the INTERCOM button:
- Connect to unit D: Press INTERCOM once (x1).
- Connect to unit C: Press INTERCOM twice (x2).
- Connect to unit B: Press INTERCOM three times (x3).

7.3 Old Interphone Series
To pair with previous Interphone series devices, press INTERCOM and TELEPHONE buttons for 3 seconds. Then, start pairing mode on the second unit.

7.4 Anycom
The Anycom feature allows intercom conversations with other intercom brands. Only one non-Interphone device can be paired at a time. Intercom distance depends on the paired device's performance.
Note: Pairing a non-Interphone device may disconnect a second paired mobile phone.
- Enter the configuration menu (hold INTERCOM button for 5 sec, LED blue).
- Press VOLUME – button three times to activate ANYCOM pairing mode.
- Set the non-Interphone intercom to Phone pairing mode.

8. FUNCTION PRIORITY AND FIRMWARE UPGRADES
8.1 Function Priority
The headset prioritizes connected devices in the following order:
- Mobile phone (Highest)
- Bluetooth® Intercom
- Bluetooth® stereo music (Lower)
Priority between intercom and music can be adjusted via the Interphone Unite APP or Device Manager.
Lower-priority functions are interrupted by higher-priority functions (e.g., music by intercom, intercom by incoming phone call).
8.2 Firmware Upgrades
Firmware can be upgraded using the Device Manager utility (available for PC and MAC at www.interphone.com).
Connect the headset via USB-C cable to your computer, launch Device Manager, and follow the on-screen instructions.
The Interphone Unite APP can check for firmware updates and notify the user, but cannot perform the update itself.
9. CONFIGURATION SETTING
9.1 Headset Configuration Setting
Enter the settings menu by pressing and holding the INTERCOM button for 5 seconds (LED turns blue).

Navigate through settings using VOLUME + or VOLUME - buttons.
Configuration menu options:
- Phone pairing
- Second Mobile Phone Pairing
- GPS pairing
- Delete all pairings
- Anycom pairing
- Factory reset
- Exit
Confirm options by pressing the INTERCOM button once.
9.1.1 Delete all pairings
This option deletes all stored Bluetooth® pairings.
9.2 Device settings
Device settings can be modified via the Device Manager utility (PC/MAC at www.interphone.com) or the Interphone UNITE app.
Note: The "Advanced Features" setting enables features like multiple speed dial.
9.2.1 Speed dial
Assign phone numbers for quick dialing.
9.2.2 VOX Phone (Default: Enable)
Allows answering incoming calls by voice (e.g., saying "Hello"). VOX phone is temporarily disabled during intercom use. If disabled, calls must be answered by pressing the PHONE button.
9.2.3 VOX Intercom (Default: Disable)
Allows initiating intercom conversations by voice. The conversation automatically terminates after 20 seconds of silence. Manual termination via the INTERCOM button is also possible. Voice activation may be temporarily unavailable after manual termination.
9.2.4 Audio Multitasking (Default: Disabled)
Allows simultaneous intercom conversations and music/GPS audio playback. Overlaid audio plays at reduced volume during intercom and returns to normal volume afterward.
Notes:
- Restart the headset for Audio Multitasking to function correctly.
- This feature requires both connected headsets to support it.
- Some GPS devices may not support this feature.
- Audio Multitasking settings (Sensitivity, Volume) can be configured.
- Activating Audio Multitasking may reduce intercom audio quality.
9.2.5 HD Voice (Default: Enable)
Provides high-definition audio for phone calls, resulting in clearer sound. Three-Way Conference Call with Intercom Participant is unavailable when HD Voice is enabled.
Notes:
- Check your Bluetooth® device manufacturer for HD Voice support.
- HD Voice is active only when Bluetooth® Intercom Audio Multitasking is disabled.
9.2.6 HD Intercom (Default: Enable)
Enhances two-way intercom audio quality to HD. HD Intercom is temporarily disabled during multi-way intercom or when Audio Multitasking is enabled.
Notes:
- Intercom distance may be shorter with HD Intercom enabled.
- HD Intercom is temporarily disabled when Bluetooth® Intercom Audio Multitasking is enabled.
9.2.7 Unit Language
Select the device language. The selected language persists after rebooting.
9.2.8 Voice Prompt (Default: Enable)
Voice prompts can be disabled via software settings, except for prompts related to the configuration menu, battery level, and speed dial.
10. TROUBLESHOOTING

10.1 Fault reset
If the intercom is not working correctly, insert a paper clip into the reset hole on the back of the main unit and press gently.
Note: A reset does not restore factory settings.
10.2 Factory reset
To erase all settings and restore factory defaults:
- Enter the configuration menu (hold INTERCOM button for 5 sec, LED blue).
- Press VOLUME – button twice until the "Factory reset" message is heard.
- Press INTERCOM button once to confirm. A voice announcement "Reset headphones, goodbye" will confirm the reset.
