Product Overview
The MINEW MG5 Outdoor Mobile LTE Gateway acts as a constant companion for assets throughout the supply chain. It works with Bluetooth low energy (BLE) tags and sensors, collecting and uploading Bluetooth data in real-time to your cloud platform. The MG5 converts vehicle activities into actionable insights, enhancing business operations and revolutionizing supply chain management. It ensures sustained real-time visibility through its integrated Bluetooth, LTE-M & NB-IoT communications, and GPS tracking capabilities, empowering stakeholders to make informed decisions, improve operational efficiency, and deliver superior customer experiences.
Key Features
-
LTE-M / NB-IoT Network Flexible Switching
The MG5 supports both LTE-M and NB-IoT cellular communication, offering compatibility with local networks worldwide. It can adapt to different reporting rates and working modes, allowing for flexible network switching to optimize data transmission, conserve power, and reduce data traffic costs.
-
GPS Outdoor & LBS Indoor Positioning Seamlessly
Beyond outdoor GPS positioning and Bluetooth scanning, the MG5 utilizes Bluetooth low-energy broadcasting. This enables the detection of the MG5's presence via Bluetooth LBS (Location-Based Service) positioning in indoor environments where GPS signals are unavailable, such as warehouses. This ensures seamless switching between indoor and outdoor positioning, maintaining data continuity and visibility.
-
Gateway Real-time Mode or Tracker Low-energy Mode Switchable
The cellular reporting interval is configurable based on your operational needs. For real-time location and status updates during transportation, a high-frequency reporting mode (gateway real-time mode) can be used, typically powered by an external source. For low-power, long-term deployments, a low-frequency reporting mode (tracker low-energy mode), such as daily uploads, can be selected.
-
Cloud Platform Support
After adaptation, the MG5 supports major cloud platforms like Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure, as well as Nordic nRF cloud services for features like FOTA (Firmware Over-The-Air) updates and positioning. This facilitates rapid development, hardware compatibility, proof-of-concept testing, and deployment by solution integrators, shortening development cycles and enabling efficient terminal scenario implementation and commercial promotion.
-
Bluetooth Scanning & Built-in Sensors
The MG5 supports Bluetooth communication and data filtering, enabling it to transmit environmental sensing data to remote servers. This includes Bluetooth signal strength from asset tags, temperature and humidity readings from cold chain boxes, door open/close status, and fuel level detection. The device can simultaneously monitor approximately 100 Bluetooth tags. Additionally, the MG5 features a built-in accelerometer and temperature sensor, with an optional barometer, providing valuable data for solution integrators.
-
Wide Voltage Power Supply
Designed for mobile applications, the MG5 supports a wide vehicle voltage input range of 8V~52V, ensuring continuous and reliable operation. It facilitates real-time data transmission and can report critical alerts for abnormal situations, such as unusual temperature readings, unauthorized door openings, engine tampering, or external power supply interruptions, allowing administrators to respond promptly.
-
Data Security & Automatic Reconnection
Utilizing the MQTT protocol with SSL/TLS encryption, the MG5 ensures secure data transmission. In environments with weak or intermittent network coverage, such as remote areas or tunnels, the device can store Bluetooth data locally when cellular uploads are not possible. Upon returning to a stable network area, the MG5 automatically reconnects to the base station and cloud server to resume data uploading.
-
Multi-operator Support & Certifications
The cellular module supports a wide range of global mobile operators, including AT&T, Verizon, Bell, China Telecom, Deutsche Telekom, KDDI, Telstra, and Vodafone. It also holds various regulatory certifications such as GCF, PTCRB, FCC (USA), CE (EUR), UKCA (UK), ISED (CAN), SRRC (CHN), ACMA RCM (AUS), NCC (TWN), MIC (JPN), and MSIP (KOR), among others, ensuring broad market compliance.
