RED – Radio Equipment Directive 2014/53/EU, including RED DA 2022/30 from August 1, 2025
01. What is RED?
RED stands for Radio Equipment Directive. It is the EU's legal requirement that ensures all wireless and radio-based equipment is safe to use and protects data and networks. Without RED approval, products cannot be CE-marked and therefore cannot be legally sold in the EU.
02. New Requirements from August 1, 2025
From this date, cybersecurity requirements will be added to RED-DA. Products must:
- Protect the network against misuse
- Secure personal data and privacy
- Prevent digital fraud
03. Danfoss Icon2™
Danfoss Icon2™ floor heating is fully RED-DA approved, meaning Icon2™ has been tested and approved according to RED-DA standards and meets the requirements. You can therefore safely use Icon2™ throughout the EU, both now and after August 1, 2025.
