Silestone® by Cosentino

Silestone is a hybrid surface made from premium minerals, recycled materials, resins, and pigments, offering a hygienic, high-performance, stain, and scratch-resistant surface. Its production utilizes the innovative HybriQ technology, a hybrid composition that significantly reduces crystalline silica content to not exceed 50%. This formulation uses 99% recycled water and 100% renewable energy.

Silestone Care and Maintenance

• Routine Care: Clean with soap and water. For deeper cleaning, use a pH-balanced (less than 10) general-purpose household cleaner.
• Sealants and Water Repellants: Not necessary; can cause undesirable build-up. Use food-safe furniture spray if sheen is lost.
• Light Stains: Apply household cleaner, let sit for 2 minutes, rub with a non-scratch pad, and rinse. For hardened stains, gently scrape with a razor blade or putty knife held upright, then clean with warm soapy water and rinse.
• Difficult/Stubborn Stains: Apply Lacquer Thinner, Rubbing Alcohol, Ammonia, or Mineral Spirits; let stand for 10 minutes before scrubbing and rinsing. Exercise caution when handling these chemicals.
• Hardwater Stains: Apply a paste of equal parts baking soda and white vinegar, let sit for 10-20 minutes, rub with a non-scratch pad, and rinse.

General Precautions

• Avoid chlorine-based products.
• Avoid degreasing agents (e.g., oven cleaners).
• Avoid products with high alkalinity (pH over 10).

Heat Precautions

While Silestone can withstand high temperatures for short periods, sustained contact with heat sources (e.g., curling irons, hot saucepans, frying pans) is not recommended. Use of a hot pad or trivet is advised.

Sun Exposure

• Silestone quartz is not intended for outdoor use.
• Avoid areas with UV lighting.

Repairs

Scratches can be repaired by filling them with grout or silica gel. Marble paste is also effective. For specific damage, professional consultation is recommended.
