Cleaning the Outer Coating
To clean dirt or stains on the external surfaces resulting from scale deposits, wash the unit with soapy water only. For scale deposits, dissolve with vinegar, then rinse the surface with clean water and dry with a soft cloth.
Important:
- Never clean the surface with coarse cloths or cleaning agents containing abrasive materials or acids.
- Plastic or lacquered parts must not be cleaned with chemicals containing alcohol, disinfectants, or solvents.
- For fingerprints and other marks, soapy water or a mild detergent are usually safe and successful.
- Do not use scouring powders, as they can leave permanent scratches on stainless steel surfaces.
- Do not use non-stainless steel scouring pads, cleaning wool, or wire brushes on stainless steel. These can leave carbon steel deposits that may rust if the surface becomes wet.
- For "grained" directional finishes, clean along the grain, not across it.
- After cleaning or rinsing with water, wipe the surface dry to prevent watermarks, especially in hard water areas. Using deionised water will prevent hard water staining.
- Clean before visible soiling or finger-marking accumulates to minimize effort and risk of altering the surface appearance.
