For information on your nearest recycling point, contact your local waste authority or visit www.nokia.com/phones/support/topics/recycle for HMD's take-back program details.
Battery and Charger Information
Battery and Charger Info: Check the printed guide to determine if your phone has a removable or non-removable battery.
Devices with a Removable Battery: Use only an original rechargeable battery. Batteries can be charged and discharged hundreds of times but will eventually wear out. Replace the battery when talk and standby times become noticeably shorter.
Devices with a Non-Removable Battery: Do not attempt to remove the battery, as this could damage the device. Batteries can be charged and discharged hundreds of times but will eventually wear out. Replace the battery when talk and standby times become noticeably shorter by taking the device to an authorized service facility.
Charge your device with a compatible charger. Charger plug types may vary. Charging time depends on device capability.
Battery and Charger Safety Info: Once charging is complete, unplug the charger from the device and the outlet. Continuous charging should not exceed 12 hours. A fully charged battery will lose charge over time if left unused.
Extreme temperatures reduce battery capacity and lifespan. For optimal performance, keep the battery between 15°C and 25°C (59°F and 77°F). A device with a hot or cold battery may not work temporarily. Batteries may drain quickly in cold temperatures, potentially switching off the phone within minutes. Keep your phone warm when outdoors in cold temperatures.
Obey local regulations and recycle when possible. Do not dispose of batteries as household waste.
Do not expose the battery to extremely low air pressure or high temperatures (e.g., fire), as this could cause it to explode or leak flammable liquid or gas.
Do not dismantle, cut, crush, bend, puncture, or damage the battery. If a battery leaks, avoid contact with skin or eyes. If contact occurs, flush affected areas with water or seek medical help. Do not modify, insert foreign objects into, or immerse the battery in water or other liquids. Damaged batteries may explode.
Use batteries and chargers only for their intended purposes. Improper use or use of unapproved/incompatible batteries or chargers may pose risks of fire, explosion, or other hazards, and may void approvals or warranties. If you suspect damage, take the battery or charger to a service center or dealer before further use. Never use a damaged battery or charger. Use chargers indoors only. Do not charge your device during a lightning storm. If a charger is not included, use the data cable and a USB power adapter (sold separately). Third-party cables and adapters compliant with USB 2.0 or later and applicable safety standards can be used, but non-compliant ones may pose risks.
To unplug a charger or accessory, pull the plug, not the cord.
For devices with a removable battery:
- Always switch off and unplug the charger before removing the battery.
- Accidental short-circuiting can occur if a metallic object touches the battery's metal strips, potentially damaging the battery or the object.
Small Children
Your device and its accessories are not toys and may contain small parts. Keep them out of reach of small children.
Medical Devices
Radio transmitting equipment, including wireless phones, may interfere with the function of inadequately shielded medical devices. Consult a physician or the medical device manufacturer to determine if it is adequately shielded from external radio energy.
Implanted Medical Devices
To avoid potential interference, manufacturers of implanted medical devices (e.g., pacemakers, insulin pumps, neurostimulators) recommend a minimum separation of 15.3 cm (6 inches) between a wireless device and the medical device. Users with such devices should:
- Keep the wireless device more than 15.3 cm (6 inches) away from the medical device.
- Avoid carrying the wireless device in a breast pocket.
- Hold the wireless device to the ear opposite the medical device.
- Switch the wireless device off if interference is suspected.
- Follow the manufacturer's directions for the implanted medical device.
If you have questions about using your wireless device with an implanted medical device, consult your healthcare provider.
Hearing
⚠️ Warning: Using a headset may affect your ability to hear outside sounds. Do not use the headset in situations where it could endanger your safety.
Some wireless devices may interfere with hearing aids.
Protect Your Device from Harmful Content
Your device may be exposed to viruses and other harmful content. Exercise caution when opening messages, as they may contain malicious software.
Vehicles
Radio signals may affect improperly installed or shielded electronic systems in vehicles. Consult your vehicle manufacturer for more information. Only authorized personnel should install the device in a vehicle. Faulty installation can be dangerous and void your warranty. Regularly check that all wireless device equipment in your vehicle is mounted and operating correctly. Do not store or carry flammable or explosive materials in the same compartment as the device, its parts, or accessories. Do not place your device or accessories in an airbag deployment area.
Potentially Explosive Environments
Switch off your device in potentially explosive environments, such as near gasoline pumps, as sparks can cause explosions or fires, leading to injury or death. Note restrictions in areas with fuel, chemical plants, or active blasting operations. Such areas may not be clearly marked but typically include places where you should switch off your engine, below deck on boats, chemical transfer or storage facilities, and areas with chemicals or particles in the air. Consult vehicle manufacturers regarding the use of this device near liquefied petroleum gas (e.g., propane, butane).
Certification Information
This mobile device complies with radio wave exposure guidelines. It is designed not to exceed limits for radio frequency electromagnetic fields recommended by ICNIRP guidelines, which include safety margins for all persons. Exposure guidelines are based on Specific Absorption Rate (SAR), measuring RF power absorbed by the body. The ICNIRP SAR limit for mobile devices is 2.0 W/kg averaged over 10 grams of tissue.
SAR tests are conducted in standard operating positions at the highest certified power level across all frequency bands. The device meets RF exposure guidelines when used against the head or positioned at least 1.5 cm (5/8 inch) from the body. For body-worn operation using a case, belt clip, or holder, it should not contain metal and maintain the specified separation distance.
Data or message transmission requires a good network connection; sending may be delayed. Follow separation distance instructions until transmission is complete.
During general use, SAR values are typically well below stated limits because the device automatically decreases its operating power for system efficiency and to minimize network interference. Lower power output results in lower SAR values.
Device models may have different versions and SAR values. Component and design changes can affect SAR values over time.
For more information, visit www.sar-tick.com. Mobile devices may transmit even when not on a voice call.
The World Health Organization (WHO) states that current scientific information does not indicate a need for special precautions when using mobile devices. For those interested in reducing exposure, limiting usage or using a hands-free kit is recommended. For more information on RF exposure, visit the WHO website: www.who.int/health-topics/electromagnetic-fields#tab=tab_1.
Refer to www.nokia.com/phones/sar for the maximum SAR value of the device.
