Battery and charger information

Battery and charger info

Check the printed guide for removable vs. non-removable batteries.

Removable battery: Use only original rechargeable batteries. Batteries wear out over time; replace when talk/standby times shorten.

Non-removable battery: Do not attempt to remove it, as this may damage the device. Batteries wear out; replace when talk/standby times shorten by taking it to a service facility.

Charge with a compatible charger; plug type and charging time may vary.

Battery and charger safety info

Unplug the charger after charging is complete. Continuous charging should not exceed 12 hours. A fully charged battery loses charge over time if unused.

Extreme temperatures reduce battery capacity and lifespan. Keep the battery between 15°C and 25°C (59°F and 77°F) for optimal performance. Cold or hot batteries may not work temporarily; cold temperatures can drain the battery quickly. Keep your phone warm outdoors in cold temperatures.

Obey local regulations. Recycle when possible. Do not dispose of as household waste.

? Do not expose the battery to extremely low air pressure or high temperatures (e.g., fire), as it may explode or leak flammable liquid/gas.

Do not dismantle, cut, crush, bend, puncture, or damage the battery. If it leaks, flush affected areas with water or seek medical help. Do not modify, insert foreign objects, or immerse in liquids. Batteries may explode if damaged.

Use batteries and chargers only for their intended purposes. Improper use of unapproved or incompatible items may pose fire, explosion, or other hazards, and may invalidate warranty. If a battery or charger appears damaged, take it to a service centre or dealer before use. Never use a damaged battery or charger. Charge indoors only. Do not charge during lightning storms. If a charger is not included, use the data cable and a separate USB power adapter. Third-party cables/adapters compliant with USB 2.0 or later and applicable safety standards are acceptable; others may pose risks.

To unplug a charger or accessory, pull the plug, not the cord.

If your device has a removable battery:

Small children

? Your device and accessories are not toys and may contain small parts. Keep out of reach of small children.

Medical devices

⚕️ Radio transmitting equipment, including wireless phones, may interfere with inadequately shielded medical devices. Consult a physician or the medical device manufacturer to determine if it is adequately shielded from external radio energy.

Implanted medical devices

⚕️ To avoid interference, manufacturers of implanted medical devices (pacemakers, insulin pumps, neurostimulators) recommend a minimum separation of 15.3 cm (6 inches) between the wireless device and the medical device. Persons with such devices should:

If you have questions about using your wireless device with an implanted medical device, consult your healthcare provider.

Hearing

? Warning: Using a headset may affect your ability to hear outside sounds. Do not use the headset where it could endanger your safety. Some wireless devices may interfere with hearing aids.

Protect your device from harmful content

Your device may be exposed to viruses and other harmful content. Take precautions:

Vehicles

Radio signals may affect vehicle electronic systems. Check your vehicle manufacturer for info. Only authorized personnel should install the device in a vehicle. Faulty installation can be dangerous and void warranty. Ensure vehicle wireless equipment is properly mounted and operating. Do not store flammable/explosive materials with the device or accessories, or place them in airbag deployment areas.

Potentially explosive environments

? Switch off your device in potentially explosive environments (e.g., near gasoline pumps). Sparks can cause explosions or fires. Note restrictions in areas with fuel, chemical plants, or blasting operations. These areas may not be clearly marked. Examples include areas where you're advised to switch off your engine, below deck on boats, chemical transfer facilities, and areas with airborne chemicals/particles. Check with manufacturers of LPG vehicles (propane/butane) if the device can be used nearby.

Certification information

This mobile device meets radio wave exposure guidelines. It is designed not to exceed limits recommended by ICNIRP, incorporating safety margins for all persons. Exposure guidelines are based on Specific Absorption Rate (SAR), the RF power deposited in the head or body. The ICNIRP SAR limit for mobile devices is 2.0 W/kg averaged over 10 grams of tissue.

SAR tests are conducted in standard operating positions at the highest certified power level. This device meets RF exposure guidelines when used against the ear or at least 1.5 cm (5/8 inch) from the body. Body-worn operation using cases or clips should not contain metal and must maintain the specified separation distance.

Sending data/messages requires a good network connection; sending may be delayed. Follow separation distance instructions until sending is finished.

General SAR values are typically well below stated limits due to system efficiency and network interference management, which automatically decreases power output when not needed.

Device models may have different versions and values. Component/design changes may affect SAR values.

For more info, visit www.sar-tick.com. Mobile devices may transmit even without a voice call.

The World Health Organization (WHO) states current scientific information does not indicate special precautions for mobile device use. For reduced exposure, limit usage or use a hands-free kit. For more info on RF exposure, visit www.who.int/health-topics/electromagnetic-fields#tab=tab_1.

Refer to www.hmd.com/sar for maximum SAR value.
