THIS CAN BE DONE BY TOUCHING A GROUNDED METAL OBJECT - SUCH AS A RADIATOR. STEP 1 Make sure the iMac is powered off and all cables have been disconnected from the machine. STEP 2 Lay the towel/blanket onto your workspace and carefully lay the iMac down on it (holding the sides of the machine). The screen should be facing down. STEP 3 There is a small button located in the recess where the power cable plugs into, which, when pressed will release the memory cover. STEP 5 Gently pull out the original Memory, noting the position of the notch, as you will need to install the new memory module in the same way. Please note: Don't worry about which way the stickers are facing as they will be in different places on different modules STEP 6 Push the new modules into the slots. You will need alight even pressure to do this. STEP 7 Ensure that the new memory modules are being recognized correctly by your iMac. Please note: Your iMac performs a memory initialization procedure when you first turn it on after upgrading or rearranging DIMMs. This process can take 30 seconds or more, and the display of your iMac will remain dark until finished.
