The ground wire (G) reduces static build-up in dry conditions.

Inlet Cover

The inlet cover (H) on the fan housing provides access for cleaning and inspecting the impeller (125BX-SERIES and 125BVX-SERIES only). If using the vacuum tube, it must be fitted to the inlet cover opening. Use a tool to lift the edge opposite the hinge to open. ⚠️ WARNING: Never start the blower if the inlet cover is not closed, is damaged, or cannot be closed (unless the vacuum tube is fitted).

Cutters (125BX-SERIES and 125BVX-SERIES)

Two cutters (J) on the impeller mulch leaves and debris when vacuuming.

Blower Tube and Nozzle

NOTE: Ensure the tube clamp bolt and nut are installed before initial use.

The blower tube (K) attaches to the unit via a pegged slot system. Remove the tube clamp bolt to install or remove the blower tube. Align the slot in the blower air outlet with the raised rib on the tube, insert the tube, align holes, and re-insert and tighten the bolt.

Nozzles (L) use a bayonet mount for attachment to the blower tube. Air velocity increases through the nozzle, shaping the air stream. Adjust blower tube length by twisting the nozzle left to disengage, sliding to the desired position, and twisting right to lock.

The 125BVX-SERIES can use a shoulder strap for comfort, worn over the shoulder.

Starter Device and Starter Handle

The starter device (M) engages the crankshaft when the starter handle (N) is pulled.

Fuel Cap

The fuel cap (O) is located at the rear of the engine shrouding and includes a seal to prevent fuel leakage.

Air Filter

The air filter (P) is a fiber filter medium. Regular cleaning is essential to prevent carburetor malfunctions, starting problems, loss of engine power, engine wear, excessive fuel consumption, and increased harmful exhaust fumes. Clean the filter every 25 hours or more frequently in dusty conditions. Replace the filter if it cannot be cleaned completely or if damaged.

Choke

The choke (Q) is located below the air filter cover and should be used for all cold starts.

Adjusting the Carburetor

NOT FOR ALL MODELS. The carburetor has three adjustment screws (R) for low speed jet, high speed jet, and idling. Carburetor adjustment adapts the engine to local conditions (climate, altitude, fuel, oil type). Refer to the Maintenance section for details.

Fuel Handling

Fuel Mixture

CAUTION: The machine uses a two-stroke engine and requires a gasoline/two-stroke oil mixture. Accurate measurement is crucial for the correct ratio.

⚠️ WARNING: Ensure adequate ventilation when handling fuel.

Gasoline: Use only high-quality unleaded gasoline. The recommended minimum octane rating is 87. Lower octane can cause knocking, leading to increased engine temperature and potential breakdown. Higher octane is recommended for continuous high-speed operation.

Two-stroke oil: Use HUSQVARNA two-stroke oil (1:50 mixture, 2%) for optimal results. High-quality synthetic oil formulated for two-stroke engines can also be used. Do not use oil for water-cooled outboard engines or four-stroke engines.

Mixing: Mix gasoline and oil in a clean fuel container. Start by adding half the gasoline, then the entire amount of oil, mix thoroughly, and add the remaining gasoline. Mix (shake) the fuel mixture well before filling the tank.

Do not mix more than a one-month supply of fuel. If the machine is stored for an extended period, empty and clean the fuel tank.

⚠️ WARNING: The catalytic converter muffler gets very hot during and after use, posing a fire hazard. Be aware of this, especially near flammable substances or vapors.

Maintenance

Maintenance Safety

The owner is responsible for all required maintenance as per the operator's manual. Disconnect the spark plug before performing maintenance, except for carburetor adjustments.

⚠️ WARNING: Improper maintenance can lead to serious engine damage or injury.

Carburetor

Husqvarna products are designed to reduce harmful emissions. After 8-10 tanks of fuel, the engine is run-in. For peak performance and minimal emissions after the run-in period, have your carburetor adjusted by an authorized service dealer.

Function: The carburetor controls engine speed via the throttle. It mixes air and fuel.

T-screw (BB): Regulates idle speed. Clockwise increases idle speed; counterclockwise decreases it.

Basic Setting: Factory-adjusted. Fine adjustments should be made by a skilled technician.

Recommended idle speed: See Technical Data section.

Recommended max. speed: See Technical Data section.

Fine adjustment of the idle speed-T: Adjust the idle speed using the T-screw if needed. Correct adjustment ensures smooth engine running in all positions.

Muffler

Some mufflers have catalytic converters (check Technical Data). The muffler dampens noise and directs exhaust fumes away. Exhaust fumes are hot and can contain sparks, posing a fire risk if directed at flammable material.

Some mufflers have a spark arresting screen (CC) that requires regular cleaning. Access the screen by removing the muffler outlet cover. Clean with a wire brush. Clean weekly or replace if necessary for non-catalytic mufflers. For catalytic mufflers, check and clean the screen monthly. If damaged, replace it. Frequent screen blockage may indicate a faulty catalytic converter; contact your dealer. A blocked screen can cause engine overheating and damage the cylinder and piston.

⚠️ CAUTION: Never use a machine with a faulty or loose muffler. Ensure muffler bolts are tight.

⚠️ WARNING: Mufflers with catalytic converters get very hot and remain hot after stopping, even at idle. Contact can cause burns. Be aware of fire risk.

⚠️ WARNING: Engine exhaust fumes contain carbon monoxide, which can cause poisoning. Do not start or run the machine indoors or in poorly ventilated areas. Exhaust fumes are hot and can contain sparks, posing a fire risk. Never start the machine indoors or near flammable material!

⚠️ WARNING: The inside of the muffler may contain carcinogenic chemicals. Avoid contact with these elements if the muffler is damaged.

Cooling System

The engine has a cooling system to maintain operating temperature. Components include:

  1. Air intake on the starter device (DD).
  2. Fan blades on the flywheel (EE).
  3. Cooling fins on the cylinder (FF).
  4. Cylinder cowling (guides airflow).

Clean the cooling system by brushing weekly, or more often if needed. A dirty or blocked system causes overheating and damage to the cylinder and piston.

Air Filter

The air filter (GG) must be cleaned regularly to remove dust and dirt to prevent:

  • Carburetor malfunctions
  • Starting problems
  • Loss of engine power
  • Unnecessary engine wear
  • Excessive fuel consumption
  • Elevated harmful exhaust fumes

Clean the filter every 25 hours, or more often in dusty conditions.

Cleaning the air filter: Remove the air filter cover (HH), take out the filter, and wash it in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and ensure it is dry before reinstalling. Replace the filter if it cannot be cleaned completely or if it is old.

⚠️ CAUTION: Always replace a damaged air filter.

Spark Plug

Spark plug condition is affected by carburetor adjustment, fuel mixture, gasoline/oil quality, and air filter cleanliness. Dirty electrodes can cause operating problems and starting difficulties.

If the machine lacks power, starts poorly, or idles poorly, check the spark plug first. Clean it and check the electrode gap (0.024" / 0.6 mm). Replace the spark plug after about a month of use or sooner if necessary.

⚠️ CAUTION: Always use the recommended spark plug type. Using the wrong type can damage the piston/cylinder.

You are responsible for performing required maintenance as listed in the operator's manual. While HUSQVARNA recommends retaining maintenance receipts, warranty claims cannot be denied solely for lack of receipts or failure to perform scheduled maintenance. However, HUSQVARNA may deny warranty coverage if the engine or a part failed due to abuse, neglect, improper maintenance, unapproved modifications, or the use of non-approved parts.

Present your engine to an authorized HUSQVARNA repair center promptly. Warranty repairs should be completed within 30 days. For questions regarding warranty rights and responsibilities, contact your nearest authorized service center, call HUSQVARNA at 1-800-487-5951, or visit www.husqvarna.com.

CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES:

WHAT IS NOT COVERED:
