Before First Use
For optimal performance and to remove any manufacturing residues, it is recommended to clean the kettle before its first use by following these steps:
- Connect the power cord to a suitable electrical outlet [plug-symbol].
- Fill the kettle with fresh water up to the MAX line and bring it to a boil.
- Empty the kettle and repeat the boiling process two more times (total of 3 times) with fresh water each time.
- Empty the kettle after the final boil.
Operating Instructions
Follow these steps to operate the kettle:
- Open the kettle lid [lid-open-symbol].
- Fill the kettle with the desired amount of water. Ensure the water level is between the MIN and MAX indicators.
- Close the lid securely.
- Place the kettle onto the power base.
- Connect the power base to an electrical outlet [plug-symbol].
- Use the control panel to select the desired water temperature (50°C, 60°C, 70°C, 80°C, 90°C, or Boil) and press the ON/OFF button [power-symbol ⏻].
- The kettle will heat the water to the selected temperature. It will typically emit three beeps (BEEP BEEP BEEP) when the water is ready.
Keep Warm Function
The Keep Warm function can be activated after selecting a specific temperature (60°C, 80°C, or 90°C) and pressing the ON/OFF button [power-symbol ⏻]. The kettle will maintain the selected temperature for up to 30 minutes.
To activate Keep Warm: Select desired temperature (e.g., 60°C, 80°C, 90°C) and press ON/OFF [power-symbol ⏻].
Cleaning and Maintenance
Regular cleaning and maintenance are essential for the optimal performance and longevity of your Gorenje kettle.
Exterior Cleaning:
- Ensure the kettle is unplugged and completely COLD before cleaning.
- Wipe the exterior surfaces with a soft, damp cloth.
- Important: Do not immerse the kettle, the power cord, or the power base in water or any other liquid.
Interior Cleaning:
- Wipe the interior surfaces with a damp cloth.
- Do not wash the kettle in a dishwasher.
Descaling
Mineral deposits (limescale) can accumulate inside the kettle over time, which can affect its performance and heating efficiency. Descale the kettle regularly, depending on the hardness of your water (e.g., every 1 to 3 months).
Method 1: Using Vinegar
- Fill the kettle with equal parts white vinegar and water (1:1 ratio).
- Boil the mixture.
- Allow the mixture to REST OVERNIGHT.
- Empty the kettle.
- Rinse the kettle thoroughly with clean water.
- Boil with clean water and discard the water. Repeat this step twice to ensure any residual taste or smell from the vinegar is removed.
Method 2: Using Baking Soda
- Fill the kettle with 1 liter of water and add 1 tablespoon of baking soda.
- Boil the mixture.
- Allow the mixture to REST OVERNIGHT.
- Empty the kettle.
- Rinse the kettle thoroughly with clean water.
- Boil with clean water and discard the water. Repeat this step twice.
