Product Overview
The Keeley Realizer Reverberator is a versatile effects pedal designed to deliver unique reverb, delay, modulation, and pitch-bending effects. It is presented here as the Chromalux Custom Shop Edition.
Controls
The pedal features the following controls:
- WARMTH: Tone control for Reverb/Modulation. Turning left results in a brighter tone, while turning right results in a darker tone.
- BLEND: Controls the wet/dry mix for Reverb and Modulation. Fully dry is at the left position, and fully wet is at the right position.
- DECAY: Functionality varies by mode:
- In FOCUS Mode: Controls Reverb decay time and feedback for dual delays (delay times are fixed).
- In REVERSE Mode: An 8-way switch selects decay time, ranging from 150ms to 500ms.
- In HALL Mode: Controls Reverb decay time.
- DEPTH: Controls the pitch or modulation depth across all modes.
- MODE SELECT: A rotary switch to select between the different effect modes: FOCUS, REVERSE, and HALL.
- FOOTSWITCH: Engages or disengages the effect.
Description of Modes
FOCUS (SOFT FOCUS)
This mode recreates the popular Soft Focus patch from the Yamaha FX500 Multi Effects Processor, an iconic unit from the late 1980s known for its signature delay and modulation effects. This sound is achieved by combining a dense reverb with a dual delay (one delay at 250ms, the other at 380ms), processed through a 4-voice chorus with a fixed rate. The DECAY knob influences both the reverb's decay time and the dual delay's feedback, while the DEPTH knob adjusts the depth of all four chorus voices.
REVERSE (REVERSE REVERB)
Inspired by classic rackmount reverse effects from the 1980s and 1990s, such as the Yamaha SPX90 and Alesis Midiverb II. This effect generates a series of delayed signals that play back with increasing volume, creating a unique swelling echo. The DECAY switch offers eight distinct fixed delay times, from 150ms up to 500ms.
In this REVERSE mode, the pedal also features an envelope-triggered vibrato that emulates the pitch bend effect of an offset tremolo bar. The DEPTH control adjusts the intensity of this 'trem bar' effect. The WARMTH control in this mode is designed to emulate the tone control found on a Jazzmaster or Jaguar rhythm pickup.
HALL (HALL REVERB WITH ASCENDING SHIMMER)
This mode provides a Hall reverb with an octave-up pitch effect. The reverb output is fed into an octave-up processor, which then feeds back into the reverb input, creating an infinitely ascending octave feedback loop. The DEPTH control determines how noticeable this pitch effect is.
