Pictograms and Graphic Symbols

Read the Safety Information section of this user guide before using this device. Failure to comply with safety warnings can result in serious injury.

RF Exposure

Your device contains a radio transmitter and a receiver. When it is ON, it receives and transmits RF energy. When your device is in use, the system handling your connection controls the power level at which your device transmits.

Specific Absorption Rate (SAR)

Your wireless device is a radio transmitter and receiver. It is designed not to exceed the limits for exposure to radio waves recommended by international guidelines. These guidelines were developed by the independent scientific organisation ICNIRP and include safety margins designed to assure the protection of all persons, regardless of age and health.

The guidelines use a unit of measurement known as the Specific Absorption Rate, or SAR. The SAR limit for mobile devices is 2 W/kg for Head and Body-worn, and 4 W/kg for Limb. The highest SAR value for this device when tested complied with this limit.

Maximum SAR for this model and conditions under which it was recorded:

*The tests are carried out in accordance with [CENELEC EN50566] [IEC 62209-2] [IEC/IEEE 62209-1528]

Body Worn Operation

To ensure compliance with RF exposure guidelines, the device must be used with a minimum of 5mm separation from the body. Failure to observe these instructions could result in your RF exposure exceeding the relevant guideline limits and may use more power than necessary.

FCC Statement

Radio Waves

THIS DEVICE MEETS GOVERNMENT REQUIREMENTS FOR EXPOSURE TO RADIO WAVES.

Your router is a radio transmitter and receiver. It is designed and manufactured not to exceed the emission limits for exposure to radio-frequency (RF) energy. These limits are part of comprehensive guidelines and establish permitted levels of RF energy for the general population. The guidelines are based on standards that were developed by independent scientific organizations through periodic and thorough evaluation of scientific studies. These guidelines include a substantial safety margin designed to ensure the safety of all persons, regardless of age and health.

The exposure standard for routers employs a unit of measurement known as the Specific Absorption Rate, or SAR. The SAR limit set by public authorities such as the Federal Communications Commission of the US Government (FCC), or by Industry Canada, is 1.6 W/kg averaged over 1 gram of body tissue. Tests for SAR are conducted using standard operating positions with the router transmitting at its highest certified power level in all tested frequency bands.

Although the SAR is determined at the highest certified power level, the actual SAR level of the router while operating can be well below the maximum value. This is because the router is designed to operate at multiple power levels so as to use only the power required to reach the network. In general, the closer you are to a wireless base station antenna, the lower the power output of the router. Before a router model is available for sale to the public, compliance with national regulations and standards must be shown.

The highest SAR value for this model phone when tested is 1.11 W/Kg for use close to the body.

For body-worn operation, the phone meets FCC RF exposure guidelines provided that it is used with a non-metallic accessory with the handset at least 10 mm from the body. Use of other accessories may not ensure compliance with FCC RF exposure guidelines.

Additional information on SAR can be found on the Cellular Telecommunications & Internet Association (CTIA) Web site: http://www.ctia.org/

FCC Compliance (FOR PART 15B/PART 15C)

FCC ID: 2ACCJB182.

The World Health Organization (WHO) considers that present scientific information does not indicate the need for any special precautions for use of routers. If individuals are concerned, they might choose to limit their own or their children’s RF exposure by limiting the length of calls, or using “hands-free” devices to keep routers away from the head and body. (fact sheet n°193). Additional WHO information about electromagnetic fields and public health are available on the following website: http://www.who.int/peh-emf.
