Portable Air Conditioners are ideal for spot cooling. They house the compressor, condenser, and evaporator in a compact unit. Air is dehumidified and cooled, while a flexible Exhaust Hose sends heat outside. A window venting kit is included, and no permanent installation is needed, making the unit easy to move and offering flexible air conditioning.
The unit automatically evaporates condensate through the Exhaust Hose. Drainage tank emptying is generally not needed, except in humid conditions. Always read and follow instructions carefully.
For optimal efficiency in air conditioner or dehumidifier mode, keep doors and windows closed. If using only the fan function, an open window may improve air circulation.
Operation Modes Visualized:
Important: Before installing, place the unit UPRIGHT for 1 hour to stabilize the refrigerant. Manually adjust the air vent at the top to direct airflow.
*Applicable for models with Heating feature only.
The portable air conditioner unit has various components for its operation. The front view shows the control panel and air outlet, while the rear view displays the exhaust hose connector, filters, and drain plugs.
It is important to follow these installation instructions for successful setup. Contact Customer Support if you have difficulties.
IMPORTANT: Do not replace or lengthen the Exhaust Hose as this could cause the unit to malfunction.
WARNING: Any warranties will be voided if an extra extension hose is added or if installation deviates from manufacturer instructions without consultation. Contact Customer Support for assistance.
The control panel features several buttons and indicators:
Turns the unit on and off. When plugged in, the button lights up, indicating Standby Mode. After switching off, wait 3 minutes before turning it back on.
Indicates accumulated condensation. If the internal tank is full, the Power Control light flashes, and the unit stops operating until drained (refer to Water Condensation Drainage).
Settings include Air Conditioning, Heating*, Dehumidifying, and Fan. The current mode's indicator light will illuminate.
Note: If primarily used as a dehumidifier, do not connect Exhaust Hoses. Continuous drainage is necessary.
IMPORTANT: Dehumidifier mode supports moisture reduction but does not dehumidify to the same degree as a dedicated dehumidifier. It automatically adjusts based on ambient room temperatures. Humidity percentage cannot be adjusted or displayed; only current and desired temperatures are shown.
Note: Exhaust Hoses must vent outside when using heating mode.
IMPORTANT: The heat pump draws moisture, condensing it into the internal water tank. The unit pauses when the tank is full and restarts after emptying. Recommended for rooms with 50% humidity or lower. Avoid moisture-producing products (humidifiers, kettles) when heating. See "Draining Water Condensation in Heat Mode" for more information.
Note: Pressing both ? and ? simultaneously toggles display between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F).
3 settings: High, Medium, and Low.
*Applicable for models with Heating feature only.
Functions are identical to the control panel. All key functions are accessible via the remote control.
Note: Battery Installation: Remove the back cover and insert two AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ and –).
This device complies with part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to two conditions: (1) this device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation.
This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC Rules. It generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy. If not installed and used according to instructions, it may cause harmful interference to radio communications. If interference occurs, try to correct it by reorienting/relocating the receiving antenna, increasing separation between equipment and receiver, connecting equipment to a different circuit, or consulting a dealer/experienced radio/TV technician. Any changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user's authority to operate the equipment.
Clean the dust filter every two weeks to maintain cooling efficiency.
Note: A vacuum cleaner can also be used to remove dust.
If the appliance will not be used for a long time, follow these steps:
When excess water condensation occurs, the air conditioner stops and the Power Control button flashes red, indicating drainage is needed.
Water may need to be drained in high humidity areas.
If there's a high volume of condensation, use a large pan or drain tube:
*Applicable for models with Heating feature only.
Specific drain plug external diameters: MN1CFS8/MN1HFS8/MN1CFSBB8/MN1HFSBB8/MN1CFSWW8/MN1HFSWW8: 17 mm; MN4CFS9/MN4HFS9/MN4CFSBB9/MN4HFSBB9/MN4CFSWW9/MN4HFSWW9: 17 mm; MN4CFSO/MN4HFSO/MN4CFSBBO/MN4HFSBBO/MN4CFSWWO/MN4CFSWWO: 17 mm.
Continuous drainage is recommended when using the unit in dehumidifier mode.
IMPORTANT: It is NOT recommended to connect the drain hose for continuous drainage in air conditioning cooling mode, as this can reduce cooling efficiency. Only drain water when the unit is off. Continuous drainage is only suitable for Dehumidifier mode.
IMPORTANT: Water cannot be drained using the continuous drain option in heating* mode. In Heating mode, the internal water tank collects condensation faster and may require more frequent emptying in humid rooms. Recommended for rooms with 50% humidity or lower. Avoid moisture-creating products (humidifiers, kettles) when heating.
*Applicable for models with Heating feature only.
Specific drain plug external diameters: MN1CFS8/MN1HFS8/MN1CFSBB8/MN1HFSBB8/MN1CFSWW8/MN1HFSWW8: 26.5 mm; MN4CFS9/MN4HFS9/MN4CFSBB9/MN4HFSBB9/MN4CFSWW9/MN4HFSWW9: 17 mm.
This guide addresses common problems. If problems persist, call customer support. Unplug and disconnect the appliance before troubleshooting.
Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
---|---|---|
The air conditioning unit does not start | No electricity. | Check for power. |
Batteries in the remote control need to be replaced. | Change remote control batteries. | |
The power cord is not properly plugged in. | Remove and reconnect the power cord. | |
The safety LCDI plug has tripped (USA / Canada / Mexico only). | Reset the safety LCDI plug. If the problem persists, contact customer support. | |
Runs a short while only | The thermostat temperature setting is too close to room temperature. | Lower the set temperature. |
Air outlet is blocked. | Make sure the Exhaust Hose is properly connected. | |
There are tight bends in the air Exhaust Hose. | Connect Exhaust Hose as per instructions on page 3 (of original manual). | |
Runs but not cooling | A door or window is open. | Make sure the window or door is closed. |
The dust filter is dirty. | Clean the dust filter. | |
The Exhaust Hose is detached. | Reinstall Exhaust Hose properly (refer to Installation section). | |
Temperature setting is too high. | Reduce temperature setting on control panel. | |
Air outlet or intake is blocked. | Remove blockage. | |
Room exceeds recommended size. | Move unit to smaller room. | |
Large size or number of windows are decreasing cooling effectiveness. | Cover windows with curtains or blinds. | |
In Heating Mode*, the unit keeps switching off frequently | The room is too humid. Water Tank needs to be emptied. | In heating mode, the heat pump condenses moisture into the internal water tank. In more humid rooms, it collects faster and needs more frequent emptying. Recommended to use heating mode in 50% humidity or less. Switch off appliances like humidifiers or kettles to avoid extra moisture build-up. |
Heater* is not switching ON. | Heating function not activated yet. The ambient temperature is too high. | Check that the Heating function has been activated. The sun icon ? will be illuminated when the Heater is switched ON. Switch on the Heating function when the ambient temperature reaches below 25°C (77°F). |
*Applicable for models with Heating feature only.
