User Tips

Portable Air Conditioners are ideal for spot cooling. They house the compressor, condenser, and evaporator in a compact unit. Air is dehumidified and cooled, while a flexible Exhaust Hose sends heat outside. A window venting kit is included, and no permanent installation is needed, making the unit easy to move and offering flexible air conditioning.

Auto Evaporation System

The unit automatically evaporates condensate through the Exhaust Hose. Drainage tank emptying is generally not needed, except in humid conditions. Always read and follow instructions carefully.

For optimal efficiency in air conditioner or dehumidifier mode, keep doors and windows closed. If using only the fan function, an open window may improve air circulation.

Operation Modes Visualized:

Important: Before installing, place the unit UPRIGHT for 1 hour to stabilize the refrigerant. Manually adjust the air vent at the top to direct airflow.

*Applicable for models with Heating feature only.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Appliance Maintenance:

  1. Turn off the appliance before disconnecting power.
  2. Clean the appliance with a soft dry cloth only.

Dust Filter Maintenance:

Clean the dust filter every two weeks to maintain cooling efficiency.

  1. Switch off and unplug the air conditioner.
  2. Remove the Upper Dust Filter and the Lower Dust Filter (located at the rear of the unit).
  3. Gently wash filters with water and/or diluted liquid dishwashing detergent. Rinse thoroughly and shake off excess water. Ensure filters are dry before reinstalling.

Note: A vacuum cleaner can also be used to remove dust.

  4. Replace the Upper Dust Filter and the Lower Dust Filter onto the unit.
WARNING: DO NOT power or operate the Air Conditioner when cleaning or if any Rear Grills are removed or loose. DO NOT attempt to handle or touch internal parts or wiring after Rear Grill(s) are removed, as this can cause serious injury or electrical shock.

End of Season Storage & Maintenance:

If the appliance will not be used for a long time, follow these steps:

  1. Drain Water: Ensure all left-over water condensation is drained. Remove the lower drain plug and use a shallow pan to collect water. Replace the drain plug firmly when finished.
  2. Dry Unit: Run the unit in Fan only mode for 30 minutes to dry excess moisture before storing.
  3. Power Off: Turn off and unplug the air conditioner.
  4. Clean Filters: Remove dust filters, clean with water, dry, and reinstall.
  5. Disconnect Window Installation Kit:
    • Remove the Exhaust Hose from the unit by rotating anti-clockwise to unlock and sliding out.
    • Remove the window bracket panel adapter from the window bracket by rotating anti-clockwise and pulling away.
    • Store Window Kit parts in a bag with the Remote Control and place them with the air conditioner unit.
    • If needed, clean the Window Kit with a damp cloth and water before storing. Ensure all parts are dry.
  6. Coil Power Cord: Coil the power cord before storing to protect it from bends and creases.
  7. Storage Cover: Do not store the appliance covered with plastic bags.

Water Condensation Drainage

When excess water condensation occurs, the air conditioner stops and the Power Control button flashes red, indicating drainage is needed.

Manual Draining in Cooling, Dehumidifying, and Heating* Modes

Water may need to be drained in high humidity areas.

  1. Unplug the unit.
  2. Place a shallow pan (not included) under the lower rubber drain plug.
  3. Remove the lower rubber drain plug.
  4. Water will drain into the pan.
  5. After drainage, firmly replace the lower rubber drain plug.
  6. Turn on the unit.

If there's a high volume of condensation, use a large pan or drain tube:

  1. Prepare a Base: Find a flat, stable wooden board (approx. 1" thick, minimum 20" length x 17" width) large and sturdy enough for the unit to sit stably without rocking.
  2. Drain Water: Drain water from the lower drain plug into a larger pan (not included) or through a drain tube. For a drain tube, purchase vinyl tubing with a 5/8" outside diameter and 1/2" inside diameter. The drain tube must be positioned lower than the drain plug to ensure water flows out.
WARNING: For safety, the Portable Air Conditioner must NOT be positioned on a base higher than 1" from the floor. This is only recommended if you have a stable, flat base.

*Applicable for models with Heating feature only.

Specific drain plug external diameters: MN1CFS8/MN1HFS8/MN1CFSBB8/MN1HFSBB8/MN1CFSWW8/MN1HFSWW8: 17 mm; MN4CFS9/MN4HFS9/MN4CFSBB9/MN4HFSBB9/MN4CFSWW9/MN4HFSWW9: 17 mm; MN4CFSO/MN4HFSO/MN4CFSBBO/MN4HFSBBO/MN4CFSWWO/MN4CFSWWO: 17 mm.

Continuous Draining in Dehumidifier Mode

Continuous drainage is recommended when using the unit in dehumidifier mode.

  1. Unplug the unit.
  2. Remove the upper rubber drain plug. Some residual water may spill, so have a pan ready.
  3. Connect the drain connector to a ¾" hose or standard garden hose (not included).
  4. Water can be continuously drained through the drain tube into a floor drain or bucket.
  5. Replace the drain plug.
  6. Turn on the unit.

IMPORTANT: It is NOT recommended to connect the drain hose for continuous drainage in air conditioning cooling mode, as this can reduce cooling efficiency. Only drain water when the unit is off. Continuous drainage is only suitable for Dehumidifier mode.

IMPORTANT: Water cannot be drained using the continuous drain option in heating* mode. In Heating mode, the internal water tank collects condensation faster and may require more frequent emptying in humid rooms. Recommended for rooms with 50% humidity or lower. Avoid moisture-creating products (humidifiers, kettles) when heating.

*Applicable for models with Heating feature only.

Specific drain plug external diameters: MN1CFS8/MN1HFS8/MN1CFSBB8/MN1HFSBB8/MN1CFSWW8/MN1HFSWW8: 26.5 mm; MN4CFS9/MN4HFS9/MN4CFSBB9/MN4HFSBB9/MN4CFSWW9/MN4HFSWW9: 17 mm.

Air outlet is blocked.Make sure the Exhaust Hose is properly connected.
There are tight bends in the air Exhaust Hose.Connect Exhaust Hose as per instructions on page 3 (of original manual).
Runs but not coolingA door or window is open.Make sure the window or door is closed.
The dust filter is dirty.Clean the dust filter.
The Exhaust Hose is detached.Reinstall Exhaust Hose properly (refer to Installation section).
Temperature setting is too high.Reduce temperature setting on control panel.
Air outlet or intake is blocked.Remove blockage.
Room exceeds recommended size.Move unit to smaller room.
Large size or number of windows are decreasing cooling effectiveness.Cover windows with curtains or blinds.
In Heating Mode*, the unit keeps switching off frequentlyThe room is too humid. Water Tank needs to be emptied. In heating mode, the heat pump condenses moisture into the internal water tank. In more humid rooms, it collects faster and needs more frequent emptying. Recommended to use heating mode in 50% humidity or less. Switch off appliances like humidifiers or kettles to avoid extra moisture build-up.
Heater* is not switching ON.Heating function not activated yet. The ambient temperature is too high.Check that the Heating function has been activated.
