TP-Link Tapo C200 Quick Start Guide
This guide provides instructions for setting up your TP-Link Tapo C200 Home Security Wi-Fi Camera.
Getting Started
Follow these steps to set up your Tapo Wi-Fi Camera:

Step 1: Download the Tapo App
Obtain the Tapo application from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. You can scan the QR code to download.

Step 2: Connect the Camera
Plug in your camera and wait until the LED indicator flashes red and green.

Step 3: Configuration
Tap the '+' button in the app and select 'Smart Camera Tapo C200'. Follow the in-app instructions and the instructions provided to complete the setup.
LED Indicator Guide
LED Status | Meaning |
---|---|
Solid Red | Starting up. |
Solid Green | Connected to Wi-Fi. |
Flashing Red | Resetting the camera. |
Flashing Red and Green | Ready for configuration. |
Flashing Green Slowly | Connecting to Wi-Fi. |
Flashing Green Rapidly | Updating the camera. |
Mounting Kit
The package includes a base mounting model for the camera and screws/anchors for wall mounting.
Base Mounting:
- Positioning: Place the mounting template where you want to install the camera. For wall mounting, drill two holes through the circles on the template.
- Attach Base: Secure the camera base using the provided screws. For wall mounting, insert anchors into the drilled holes and then attach the base using the screws.
- Secure Camera: Attach the camera to the base and rotate to secure it.
Camera Appearance
The camera features a lens that can be tilted to access the RESET button and microSD card slot.
- RESET Button: With the camera powered on, press and hold the RESET button for at least 5 seconds until the LED flashes red. The camera will reset and restart.
- microSD Card Slot: Insert a microSD card and initialize it in the app for local recording.

Important Safety Information

- Never insert metal objects into the product. If a metal object enters, turn off the circuit breaker and contact an electrician.
- This product is not intended for medical use. Consult personal medical device manufacturers (e.g., pacemakers) regarding RF energy shielding.
- Do not use in healthcare facilities where equipment might be sensitive to external RF energy.
- Do not place near water (e.g., bathtub, sink, pool) or in damp basements.
- The product should be kept away from excessive smoke, dust, high temperatures, and vibrations.
- Do not place heavy objects on the product.
- When leaving the product unused for extended periods, unplug it.
- Keep the product away from heat sources like radiators or stoves. Do not place in rooms with temperatures below 0°C (32°F) or above 40°C (104°F). Avoid damp basements.
- This product may interfere with other electronic devices like TVs, radios, computers, or wireless devices.
