Tamiya 1/12 Yamaha SRX600 Model Kit
Introduction to the Yamaha SRX600 Motorcycle
The Yamaha SRX600, which debuted in April 1985, was Yamaha Motor Company's notable entry into the sports motorcycle market. Unlike popular racer replica motorcycles, the SRX600 features an orthodox 608cc, air-cooled SOHC 4-stroke, 4-valve single-cylinder engine. This engine delivers torque and sound characteristic of larger single-cylinder engines, enhanced by Yamaha's YDIS (Yamaha Duo Intake System) for smooth power delivery across the RPM range. The engine is housed in a double cradle frame made of square high-tensile strength steel tubing, incorporating an oil cooler for high performance. Its 18-inch front and rear wheels provide neutral handling and stability on various road conditions. The rear suspension utilizes proven twin shock absorbers. The SRX600 set new standards in performance and styling, appealing to riders seeking a stylish and capable motorcycle.
