Revlon RV440RED3 Hot Air Kit
Operating Instructions
This appliance is intended for household use only.
This appliance is designed for safety and performance. It features a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other) for safety, ensuring it fits into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully, reverse it. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature.
Tourmaline Ionic Technology®: Fights frizz for shinier, healthy-looking hair.
3X Ceramic Coating: Three layers of ceramic coating help reduce damage from overstyling with even heat distribution that penetrates hair quickly and styles from the inside out.
Styling Tips
- Before using, towel-dry your hair and smooth with a comb or brush to prevent tangling. Styling will be faster if the hair is slightly damp, not wet.
- Plug the appliance into an electrical outlet and slide the switch to the high setting for styling medium-to-thick hair. The low setting is recommended for fine hair.
- When the desired style is achieved, use the cool setting with any attachment to lock the style in place.
- Always use the appliance with an attachment in place.
Smoothing Concentrator
By concentrating the airflow, individual sections of the hair can be dried or styled at a time.
Using the Brush Attachments
- Use the 1” Brush Attachment for soft curls and waves or the 1 ½” Brush Attachment to create volume.
- Slowly run the brush attachment through hair, starting from the scalp and moving toward the ends.
- Take a small section of hair, about 2 inches, to style-in curls, waves or to add body.
- Using one hand to hold the Cool Tip and the other to hold the handle, place the brush attachment under the hair and roll under for a curl.
- Leave the brush attachment in the hair for 10-15 seconds for medium-to-thick hair or 5-10 seconds for fine hair. Repeat the roll until the desired curl is shaped.
- To add body, place the brush under the hair close to the roots and roll outward toward the ends. For extra body, hold the brush for 2-3 seconds under the roots.
- To straighten, brush away from the scalp, both over and under the section of hair until the hair is dry and smooth.
- When styling is complete, slide the switch to the off position and unplug the unit. Allow the unit and attachments to cool completely before storing. Store the unit with an attachment in place.
Changing the Brush Attachments
- To change a brush attachment, turn the styler off, unplug the appliance and allow it to fully cool.
- Press the Release Button ? and pull the attachment away from the body of the appliance.
- Align the new attachment with the handle and insert it with a slight clockwise twisting action until a click is heard (Figure A).
Cleaning Instructions
Dust and lint can be removed from air intake openings with a small brush or vacuum cleaner brush attachment. DO NOT allow moisture or additional debris to enter the unit while cleaning.
Cleaning Your Attachments
- To clean the attachments, follow steps one and two in Changing the Brush Attachments above.
- Wash the attachment in warm, soapy water. Rinse in cool water and air dry. Make sure attachment is completely dry before placing on the base.
- Fit attachment onto the base following the instructions above.
User Maintenance Instructions

IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO CONSUMERS
This message about GROUND FAULT CIRCUIT INTERRUPTERS (GFCI) CAN SAVE A LIFE.
IF YOU MUST USE YOUR HAIR DRYER IN THE BATHROOM, INSTALL A GFCI* NOW! Your local electrician can help you decide which type is best for you: a portable unit that plugs into the electrical outlet or a permanent unit installed by your electrician.
The National Electrical Code now requires a GFCI in the bathroom, garages and outdoor outlets of all new homes. WHY DO YOU NEED A GFCI?
Electricity and water don't mix. If your hair dryer falls in water while it's plugged in, the electric shock can kill you... even if the switch is "off." A regular fuse or circuit breaker won't protect you under these circumstances. A GFCI offers you far greater protection.
A GFCI CAN SAVE YOUR LIFE! COMPARED TO THAT, THE PRICE IS SMALL! DON'T WAIT... INSTALL ONE NOW! *GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) is a sensitive device which reacts immediately to a small electric current leak by stopping the electricity flow.
