Buttons and Ports
The SHIMBOL M5 monitor features various buttons and ports for control and connectivity:
- 1. Power ON/OFF Button: Short press to turn the monitor on, long press for 3 seconds to turn it off.
- 2. Custom Function Buttons: Programmable buttons for quick access to features.
- 3. HDMI Output: Port for outputting video signals.
- 4. HDMI Input: Port for receiving video signals.
- 5. DC Input: Power input port.
- 6. SD Card Slot: For inserting SD cards for firmware updates and LUT import.

User Interface

Menu Operations
The monitor offers various menus for detailed control:
Scope Menu
Provides tools for analyzing video signals, including Waveform, RGB-paral, Histogram, and Vector scopes. Allows adjustment of Opacity.
Marker Menu
Enables the display of on-screen markers such as Safe Areas (with various ratio options: 80%, 85%, 90%, 93%, 96%), Grip, and Anamorphic markers.
Focus Menu
Includes focus assist features like Peaking (with adjustable color and sensitivity) and Zoom for magnified focus checks.
Exposure Menu
Offers exposure control tools like Zebra pattern (adjustable levels) and False Color, as well as Monochrome display.
Color Menu
Allows adjustment of color parameters including 3D-LUT, Gamma (e.g., 2.2, 2.4, 2.6), HDR settings, and Color Temperature.
Setting Menu
Contains system-wide settings:
- Display: Scan modes (Normal, Underscan), Backlight adjustment.
- Setting: Volume control, SD card format option.
- Function: General function settings.
- System: System configuration options.
Function Instructions
Power ON/OFF
Short press the power button to turn the monitor on. Long press the power button for 3 seconds to turn it off.
3D-LUT Import Method
To import custom 3D-LUT files:
- Place the LUT file in the 'LUT' folder on the SD card and insert the SD card into the monitor.
- Navigate to the Color Menu, select 3D-LUT, and turn the option on. Then, select 'Custom'.
- Click the 'Import' button. The system will retrieve the LUT file from the SD card.
- Select the desired LUT file from the list, click 'Import', and confirm to load it into the system.
Note: LUT file names must be in English and should not contain special characters or spaces to ensure successful import.
RGB Gain and Offset Control
Adjust the Red (R), Green (G), and Blue (B) channels for both RGB Gain and RGB Offset. Each parameter can be adjusted individually, and there is a 'Reset' option to revert changes.
Formatting SD Cards
Access the 'SD card format' option within the Settings menu. This allows you to format the inserted SD card, typically used for preparing it for use with the monitor's features.
Notes
Correlation of Function States
Certain functions, such as Zoom, Anamorphic, and Waveform, can only be activated one at a time. If you attempt to activate one while another is already active, the existing function will be automatically closed.
SD Card Identification and Use Problems
This product does not support hot-swapping of SD cards. Inserting or removing the SD card while the monitor is in use may lead to abnormalities, such as the card not being recognized or the screen interface becoming unresponsive. If this occurs, please restart the monitor.
