Immergas In-Line Electric Heater

Model: Resistenza Elettrica Integrativa / In-Line Electric Heater

Code: 3.021525

General Recommendations

Safety First: Always switch off the power supply before working on electric components. Read all safety precautions carefully before installation.

Installation & Maintenance: Should be performed by qualified personnel familiar with local standards and regulations. Ensure compliance with national electrical regulations.

Power Supply: Verify that the power supply and frequency are suitable for the unit's requirements and any other connected appliances. The unit must be earthed to prevent risks from insulation defects. Avoid electrical work if water or high humidity is present.

Hydraulic Connections: When making hydraulic connections, prevent any foreign bodies from entering the piping. Failure to follow these instructions voids the warranty.

Inspection and Storage: Upon receipt, check all components against shipping documents for damage. Store the unit indoors, protected from weather elements. High temperatures (above 60°C) can damage plastic components and affect electrical/electronic parts.

Warranty: Modifications without manufacturer's written consent void the warranty. For warranty validity, commissioning must be done by a specialized technician, maintenance by trained technicians, only original spare parts must be used, and all manual operations must be performed within the prescribed schedule.

Product Presentation: This electric heater is designed for use with heat pumps in water or glycol (max 40%) heating systems. It offers three independently controlled power stages (2kW, 4kW, 6kW) and supports single-phase or three-phase connections. It provides supplementary heating when the heat pump's capacity is insufficient.

Installation

The heater is designed for indoor installation in non-explosive areas, protected from freezing. It is not sealed against water splashes and should not be installed in damp areas like laundry rooms.

Hydraulic Connections

Install the heater downstream of the heat pump (refer to assembly drawing, Fig. 2). It requires a water flow to prevent boiling. If the heater is in a direct circuit, the heat pump system manages low water flow risk. If in a separate circuit, ensure adequate water flow. If isolation valves are installed, a safety valve must also be fitted.

Electrical Connections

Power supply must pass through a circuit breaker or fuse holder as per installer's responsibility. Fuse sizes are in Technical Data (Parag. 2.11). Electrical installation must comply with country regulations. Ensure the unit is earthed and the ground cable is correctly connected before closing the cover.

Commissioning

Fill the circuit with water and check for leaks. Bleed the heating circuit and verify adequate water flow before powering the resistances. The heater has a dual safety thermostat: automatic reset at 70°C and manual reset at 83°C.

Operating Modes (Parameters for Heat Pump)

Boost Mode: Maintains comfort when the heat pump's power is insufficient, prioritizing the thermodynamic section for optimal performance. Resistances activate only when the heat pump detects a power deficit (via water temperature). Refer to the heat pump documentation for configuration.

Main Dimensions

Diagram showing the main dimensions of the unit with various measurements in millimeters.

Carter Opening for Terminal Board Access

To access the terminal board, unscrew the screw (1), remove the washer (2), and open the front cover (3) (Fig. 2).

Supply Conversion

To convert the power supply from 230V 50Hz single-phase to 400V 50Hz three-phase, insert the comb (1) as shown in Fig. 3.

Reset Safety Device

The electric heating system has a safety device (Fig. 8) that cuts off power to the heating resistances in case of an operating anomaly.

Main Components

Key components are labeled in diagrams: Water inlet/outlet, power supply, bleed valve, backup heater switch, drain valve, connection relay (for AUDAX), terminal board, safety thermostat, relays, and resistance.
