Indoor Unit Display
- ECO (White indicator)
- Wi-Fi access (White indicator)
- PURE (White indicator)
- Timer (White indicator)
- Operation Mode: Cool (Blue), Heat (Orange)
Display brightness can be adjusted via specific procedures.
Remote Controller
The remote controller features the following components:
- Infrared signal emitter: Transmits signals to the indoor unit.
- Start/Stop Button: Initiates or stops operation.
- Mode Select Button: Cycles through operation modes (Cool, Heat, Fan, Auto, Dry).
- Temperature Button (▲/▼): Adjusts the set temperature.
- Fan Speed Button: Selects fan speed (Auto, Low, Low+, Med--, Med+, High, Quiet).
- Menu Select Button: Accesses advanced settings and menus.
- Set Louver Up-Down Button: Controls vertical louver direction.
- Set Louver Left-Right Button: Controls horizontal louver direction.
- Check Button: Located under the battery cover, used for specific functions.
Preparation Before Use
Preparing Filters
1. Open the air inlet grille and remove the air filters.
2. Attach the filters. Refer to the Installation Manual for detailed instructions.
Loading Batteries
1. Remove the slide cover from the remote controller.
2. Insert 2 new AAA batteries, observing the correct (+) and (-) polarity.
Remote Controller Reset
1. Remove the batteries.
2. Press the reset button.
3. Reinsert the batteries.
Air Flow Direction
Adjust the louvers for optimal air distribution:
- Vertical (Up-Down) Swing: Press the FIX button to move the louver to the desired vertical position.
- Horizontal (Left-Right) Swing: Press the FIX button to move the louver to the desired horizontal position.
- Swing Operation: The SWING operation (vertical, horizontal, or both) can be selected using the MENU button.
- HADA Care Flow: Provides indirect airflow upwards towards the ceiling for even room temperature distribution.
Note: Do not manually move the louvers. They may position automatically based on the selected operation mode.
Operation Modes
Cooling / Fan Only Operation
- Press the MODE button to select 'Cool' or 'Fan only'.
- Press the TEMP. button (▲/▼) to set the desired temperature (17°C to 30°C). For 'Fan only', temperature is not displayed.
- Press the FAN button to select fan speed: AUTO, LOW, LOW+, MED--, MED+, HIGH, or Quiet.
Automatic Operation
- Press the MODE button to select 'Auto'.
- Press the TEMP. button (▲/▼) to set the desired temperature (17°C to 30°C).
- Press the FAN button to select fan speed: AUTO, LOW, LOW+, MED--, MED+, HIGH, or Quiet.
Heating and 8°C Operation
- Press the MODE button to select 'Heat'.
- Press the TEMP. button (▲/▼) to set the desired temperature (5°C to 30°C). A range of 5°C to 16°C enables the 8°C operation for energy saving.
- Press the FAN button to select fan speed: AUTO, LOW, LOW+, MED--, MED+, HIGH, or Quiet.
Note: During 8°C mode (5°C-16°C), operations like QUIET, HI POWER, and TIMER OFF may not be available.
Dry Operation
For dehumidification with moderate cooling. The fan speed is automatically set to AUTO.
- Press the MODE button to select 'Dry'.
- Press the TEMP. button (▲/▼) to set the desired temperature (17°C to 30°C).
Menu Setup
Use the MENU button to access additional settings and customize operation:
9.1 Louver Swing and HADA Care Flow Operation
Allows selection of automatic louver swing for vertical and horizontal airflow, or HADA Care Flow for indirect airflow. The process involves navigating through the MENU, selecting the desired feature, and confirming.
9.2 Silent Operation (Outdoor Unit)
Reduces the outdoor unit's sound level for quieter operation, balancing sound with heating/cooling capacity. Options include Standard, Silent 1, and Silent 2. The setting process involves navigating via the MENU.
9.3 Hi POWER Operation
Automatically controls temperature and airflow for faster cooling or heating (except Dry/Fan Only modes). Select via the MENU.
9.4 ECO Operation
Automatically adjusts temperature to save energy (except Dry/Fan Only modes). For cooling, temperature increases gradually; for heating, it decreases. Select via the MENU.
9.5 Fireplace Operation
Keeps the indoor unit fan running continuously during thermo-off to circulate heat. Options: Fireplace 1 (runs at last selected speed) or Fireplace 2 (runs at super-low speed). Select via the MENU.
9.6 Timer Off Operation
Sets the unit to turn off automatically after a specified time (0.5 to 12 hours). Select via the MENU and set the duration. The setting can be cancelled by selecting TIMER OFF again.
9.7 Pure (Ionizer) Operation
Activates the ionizer to capture and deactivate airborne impurities like bacteria, odor, smoke, and dust. Select via the MENU.
9.8 Power-Selection Operation
Limits maximum current and power consumption (100%, 75%, or 50%) for shared circuit breakers, saving energy and extending compressor life. Note: May affect cooling/heating capacity. Select via the MENU.
10 Manual Defrost Operation
Initiates defrosting of the outdoor unit's heat exchanger during heating operation by pressing and holding the MENU button for 5 seconds.
11 Display Lamp Brightness Adjustment
Adjusts the brightness of the remote controller's LCD display or turns it off. Press and hold the FAN button for 3 seconds, then use the TEMP. button to select brightness levels (d3, d2, d1, d0).
12 Auto Restart Function Setting
Allows the unit to automatically restart in the same mode after a power failure. The function is off by default. To enable/disable, press and hold the OPERATION button on the indoor unit for 3 seconds.
Self-Cleaning Operation (Cool and Dry Only)
Helps prevent odors caused by humidity. Press the button once during 'Cool' or 'Dry' mode; the fan runs for 30 minutes after shutdown to reduce moisture. Press the button twice within 30 seconds to stop immediately.
Temporary Operation
Allows basic operation (Automatic mode, 24°C, Auto fan speed) using the RESET button on the indoor unit if the remote is lost or discharged.
Remote Control A-B Selection
Used when two air conditioners are installed nearby to assign unique remotes. Follow the steps to set Remote Control B by pressing RESET on the indoor unit and then specific buttons on the remote.
Operation and Performance
- Three-Minute Protection: Prevents immediate restart after power interruption.
- Preheating Operation: Warms up the unit for 5 minutes before heating starts.
- Warm Air Control: Reduces fan speed and stops the outdoor unit when the set temperature is reached.
- Automatic Defrosting: Fans stop during defrost cycles.
- Heating Capacity: Heat is absorbed from outdoors. For very low outdoor temperatures, supplemental heating may be needed.
- Snow Consideration: Position the outdoor unit to avoid snow drifts or debris.
- Cracking Sound: Minor cracking sounds due to plastic expansion/contraction are normal.

Troubleshooting
The unit does not operate.
- Check if the power main switch is off.
- Verify the circuit breaker is not tripped.
- Ensure there is no power stoppage.
- Check if the ON timer is set.
Cooling or Heating is abnormally low.
- Clean or replace air filters if blocked with dust.
- Ensure the temperature is set correctly.
- Close windows and doors to prevent air leakage.
- Check if the air inlet/outlet of the outdoor unit is blocked.
- Verify the fan speed is not set too low.
- Ensure the operation mode is not set to FAN or DRY.
- Check if the POWER SELECTION function is set to 75% or 50%.
Maintenance
Before maintenance, turn off the circuit breaker.
Indoor Unit and Remote Controller
Clean with a damp cloth. Avoid using benzine, thinner, polishing powder, or chemically-treated dusters.
Air Filters
Clean every 2 weeks:
- Open the air inlet grille.
- Remove the air filters.
- Vacuum or wash and dry them thoroughly.
- Reinstall the air filters and close the air inlet grille.
Wireless LAN Connection
Toshiba Home AC Control
Control your air conditioner via smartphone or tablet using the Toshiba Home AC Control application. Available for iOS (9.0+) and Android (5.0+).
About the App
- Remote control via internet connection.
- Cloud-based system for monitoring and control.
- Supports up to 5 users per wireless adapter.
- Supports multi-AC system control (up to 10 ACs per user).
- Supports group control (up to 3 groups, 10 ACs per group).
Register Process
Follow these steps to register a user account:
- Open the application and select 'Register'.
- Enter your email address.
- Select your country.
- Enter your desired username.
- Create a password (6-10 alphanumeric characters).
- Review and agree to the Terms and Conditions.
- Confirm your information.
- Information will be sent to your email; click the link to complete registration.
Login and Setup
- Connect the Wireless Adapter to the AC and turn on the power supply.
- Open the Toshiba Home AC Control application and select 'Log in'.
- Enter your username and password.
- Login successful.
Adding a Wireless Adapter
- From the app, select 'Add AC (Adapter)'.
- Choose the connection method: 'Wireless Adapter Built-in' or select the adapter type (Type A/B).
- For 'Built-in' type, press and hold the 'MODE' button on the remote controller for 5 seconds to activate AP mode. The wireless LAN icon will flash.
- Alternatively, use WPS mode on your Wi-Fi router or manually input the Wi-Fi router's SSID and password.
- Connect to your Home Wi-Fi Router.
- Once connected, the AC is added successfully, and the wireless LED lamp will stop blinking.
App Features
- Home Screen: Displays all connected AC units, their status (online/offline), and current operation modes.
- Group Management: Create groups of AC units, add/delete ACs from groups, rename groups, and set operation settings for groups.
- Operation Modes: Select modes like Auto, Cool, Dry, Heat, Fan Only, or Off for individual ACs, groups, or all ACs. Adjust temperature, fan speed, and swing settings.
- Weekly Schedule: Set daily schedules for AC operation, including mode, temperature, and on/off times for each day of the week.
- Energy Monitoring: Track energy consumption (kWh) by day, week, or month. Set cost calculation and currency, and export data via email.
- Settings: Manage user information, change password, set time zone, languages, and child lock.
- Help Menu: Access support and troubleshooting information.
Decorative Fabric Installation
Optional decorative fabric can be installed on the air inlet grille.
- Remove the air inlet grille by opening it upward and pulling it towards you.
- Prepare the fabric.
- Insert the fabric into the left and right sides of the air inlet grille, attaching the hook and loop fasteners.
- Insert the fabric into the top and bottom sides, attaching the hook and loop fasteners.
- Reassemble the air inlet grille by reversing the removal process.
Maintenance: Clean with a soft brush nozzle vacuum cleaner. For heavy dirt, consider dry cleaning or hand washing with warm water, then air dry.
Caution: Washing may affect the fabric's appearance. Ensure the fabric is completely dry before refitting.
