The PEUGEOT i-Cockpit® philosophy centres around a driving environment that puts the driver in control, fostering a greater connection to the road. For the PEUGEOT 208, the i-Cockpit® brings driving resolutely into a new age.
Configurable 3D Head-Up Digital Instrument Panel
Available from the Allure Premium trim level, the PEUGEOT 208 3D i-Cockpit® cluster is a unique system that projects information on different layers, creating an outstanding 3D effect. It is fully customisable to suit the driver's needs. Positioned higher, it is closer to the road and within the driver's field of vision, potentially increasing safety compared to conventional setups.
The crisp and colourful graphics within the instrument panel can be adapted to give a variety of display modes:
- 'Dials' mode: A classic view replicating the analogue setup of most modern cars.
- 'Navigation' mode: Turns the dials on their sides to a 'roller' format, with 3D navigation instructions filling the centre of the display.
- 'Driving' mode: Features 'roller' format dials and driver assistance information, including Lane Keeping Assistance (LKA) and ACC Stop.
In addition, two 'Personal' modes can be configured to allow the driver to see the exact information they require for optimum comfort.
8-Colour Personalisable Ambient Lighting
Standard from the GT trim, the PEUGEOT 208 offers personalisable ambient lighting in 8 colours to match the driver's mood. For example, red can be selected for a more dynamic experience, or blue for a more serene one.
Compact Multi-function Steering Wheel
The compact dimensions and re-designed shape of the steering wheel enhance every journey. It increases the visibility of the car's instruments and provides heightened responses and improved agility in corners. Its compact size also makes manoeuvring in car parks easier. All models are trimmed with Mistral full-grain leather with stitch detail. Sports models feature Lime Green stitching, perforation detail, and a satin chrome 'GT' designation badge.
7.0" High Definition (HD) Capacitive Colour Touchscreen
Standard from Active Premium, this touchscreen features crystal clear graphics and houses several key technological features. Capacitive technology provides smartphone-level responsiveness, while multi-touch technology offers greater functionality. Angled towards the driver, it features easy access buttons on each side and stylish 'piano' key toggle switches on the centre console for accessing functions such as climate control, DAB Radio, Mirror Screen® (Apple CarPlayTM and Android Auto), and optional Connected 3D Navigation with TomTom® Live updates.
10.0" High Definition (HD) Capacitive Colour Touchscreen
Standard from GT, this larger touchscreen offers a wider panoramic view and integrates climate controls on each side. A second row of 'piano' key toggle switches on the centre console provides quick access to vehicle functions.
Electric Impulse Automatic Gearbox Control
Standard on automatic versions, this control is linked to the 8-Speed Automatic Transmission (EAT8) with Quickshift Technology. Trimmed with full-grain leather, satin chrome, and piano black materials, its ergonomic design complements the PEUGEOT i-Cockpit® and frees up cabin space. Operation is intuitive and smooth, with manual driving mode available via steering column-mounted paddles.
Safety Technology
Active Safety Brake System
Standard on all versions, this intelligent autonomous braking system is designed to avoid collisions or limit their severity by reducing vehicle speed. It activates if the driver does not react quickly enough. Using a bumper-mounted radar and a multifunction camera at the top of the windscreen, it can detect obstructions. It operates between 0 and 18mph for collision avoidance with fixed/moving obstacles and pedestrians, and beyond 18mph, it limits impact severity by reducing speed by at least 12mph before impact. It functions both day and night.
Distance Alert System
Working with the Automatic Emergency Braking System, this function warns the driver if a collision risk is detected with the vehicle in front or a pedestrian. An 'Amber' warning provides a visual alert, while a 'Red' visual and audible alert indicates an imminent collision requiring driver action. Failure to act triggers the Automatic Emergency Braking System.
Blind Spot Monitoring
Standard from GT, this system uses lateral ultrasound sensors and the windscreen-mounted camera to detect vehicles in the driver's blind spots. An LED in the side door mirror illuminates to alert the driver. It functions when overtaking or being overtaken.
PEUGEOT Connect SOS & Assistance
Standard on all versions, this vehicle-locating communication unit can be activated manually (SOS button) or automatically (if pyrotechnic devices deploy). It precisely locates the vehicle and triggers the dispatch of appropriate emergency services. PEUGEOT Connect SOS & Assistance has assisted over 7,000 individuals since its launch in 2003. The system is subscription-free and uses a built-in GPS module and SIM card.
Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go (ACC Stop and Go)
Standard on GT Premium models, optional from Allure Premium with automatic gearbox. Controlled by a front-mounted radar, this system maintains a set speed and a set distance from the vehicle ahead, slowing down to a stop if necessary and moving off automatically. It uses engine braking and the braking system to maintain distance. When activated, it incorporates Lane Positioning Assist to keep the car centrally within its lane, useful for motorway driving. ACC 30 is an option from Allure Premium variants with manual gearboxes, offering distance and braking capabilities but not slowing to a complete stop; it can reduce speeds to a minimum of 18mph.
Lane Keeping Technologies
Via a windscreen-mounted camera, the PEUGEOT 208 offers:
- Active Lane Keeping Assistance + Road Edge Detection: Standard on all versions. Monitors longitudinal lane markings. Alerts the driver with a flashing indicator if a deviation is detected. Gradually corrects steering to keep the vehicle in lane at speeds over 40mph. Road edge detection is also included.
- Lane Positioning Assist: Standard on GT Premium. Linked to Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go, this system positions the car centrally within its lane, applying trajectory corrections.
Speed Limit Recognition and Recommendation
Standard on all versions. Using the windscreen-mounted camera, the system recognises speed limit signs and displays them on the digital instrument panel. The driver can optionally adapt their speed to the detected limit via the cruise control stalk.
Road Sign Recognition and Recommendation
Standard on all versions. In addition to speed limits, the 208 reads and interprets various road signs (e.g., 'Stop', 'One Way', 'No Overtaking') and relays them to the head-up digital instrument panel.
PEUGEOT Smartbeam Assistance
Standard from GT onwards. Controlled by a windscreen-mounted camera, this system automatically switches headlights to full beam when conditions allow, analysing driving conditions and the proximity of other vehicles.
Driver Attention Alert
Standard from Active Premium onwards. This two-stage system uses a camera at the top of the windscreen to analyse vehicle trajectory and evaluate driver vigilance at speeds over 40mph. It detects deviations from lane markings to identify driver drowsiness or inattention. Visual and audible alerts are provided. If more than three instances occur, the driver is advised to take a break.
Innovative Technology
Smartphone Docking Station
The lower centre console features a storage pocket with a flip-down lid. When open, the reverse side of the lid acts as a docking station for a smartphone.
Mirror Screen®
Standard on all versions. Allows mirroring of a compatible smartphone screen to access key handset functions on the 7.0" and 10.0" capacitive colour touchscreen systems. Functions can include navigation, text display, text reading, and media control via voice command. It supports Apple CarPlayTM, Android Auto, and MirrorLink®.
Cielo Panoramic Glass Roof
Optional from GT. This panoramic glass roof bathes the cabin in natural light and enhances the appearance of the PEUGEOT 208. A manual roller blind is included.
Driving Assistance Systems
- Visio Park 1: Standard from Allure Premium. In addition to rear parking sensors, the rear camera offers various views, including rear 'Grid' view, '180°' view, and an 'Overhead' view for easier reversing near obstacles.

Standard from GT. Linked to the 10.0" HD capacitive colour touchscreen, this system includes European mapping, 3D city mapping, and voice recognition. Front
The striking exterior design features sharp headlights with Eco LED (from Active Premium) or full LED technology (from GT). Vertical LED daytime running lights, inspired by the PEUGEOT Instinct concept car, frame the front. Three prominent front grille designs are available: chrome facets (from Active Premium), dark chrome chequered with gloss black edge trim (from GT), and colour-coded chequered with gloss black edge trim (EV versions).
Profile
The silhouette features striking details like gloss black diamond roof (from GT) and door mirror shells for a sporty bi-tone effect. Dark tinted rear side and tailgate windows (from Allure) with gloss black window surrounds (from GT) are also present. Alloy wheels range from 16" to 17", with diamond cut and tinted varnish finishes. Gloss black wheel arch extensions enhance the sporty style.
Rear
The rear design includes signature PEUGEOT touches such as rear LED 'Claw Effect' lighting (classic style from Active Premium, dynamic 3D design from Allure). A gloss black rear cluster connecting strip incorporates PEUGEOT lettering. Twin chrome exhaust systems are standard on the 1.2L PureTech 130 EAT8 S&S model. The rear bumper features gloss black 'diffuser effect' trim (from Allure).
LED Technology & Badging
Full LED headlights are standard from GT, offering benefits such as lower energy consumption, whiter light for improved visibility, instantaneous lighting response, and long lifespan. LED technology is also used for braking and indicating functions. The '208' inscription on the bonnet takes inspiration from the PEUGEOT 504 & 504 Coupé. The Lion badge has different finishes depending on the version (chrome/brushed aluminium for Petrol/Diesel, dichroic treatment for EV). The C-pillar shape and badging (GT or 'e' Monogram) link to PEUGEOT heritage.

Service Contracts
PEUGEOT offers two levels of service plan contracts for the 208, providing comprehensive coverage for servicing costs for up to five years with various mileage options. Payment can be made upfront or via monthly direct debit. Prices are examples and depend on mileage and duration. Normal wear and tear items like tyres, brake pads, etc., are excluded. Servicing must be carried out by a PEUGEOT Authorised Repairer in the UK.
Extended PEUGEOT Assistance: Offers the opportunity to extend PEUGEOT Assistance cover for up to an additional two years, including cover from home, roadside, recovery, onward travel, and European cover. Excludes non-vehicle induced faults.

AdBlue®
PEUGEOT models equipped with BlueHDi engine technology use SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) and particulate filtration to treat exhaust gases. This process targets pollutants, reducing nitrogen oxides by up to 90% and eliminating 99.9% of particulates.
PEUGEOT passenger cars with BlueHDi engines are fitted with a separate AdBlue® tank (around 17 litres for the 208) located under the driver's side fuel filler cap. AdBlue® is a consumable that must be kept topped up. Consumption varies based on driving style, vehicle load, and environmental factors. A top-up is typically required around every 3,500 miles or after 7 fuel fill-ups.
Topping Up AdBlue®: The vehicle provides low-level detection and notifications. If the AdBlue® range exceeds 1,500 miles, no information is displayed. Between 1,500 and 500 miles, an orange warning lamp and message appear. Between 500 and 62 miles, warnings become more frequent, and starting may become impossible if the tank is empty. Below 62 miles, warnings are every 6 miles. It is essential to top up before the tank is completely empty to avoid restart issues.
Important Points:
- If the AdBlue® tank is completely empty, add at least 5 litres of AdBlue® solution.
- Never pour AdBlue® into the Diesel fuel tank.
- Rinse any AdBlue® splashes on the bodywork with cold water.
- Clean crystallised fluid with a sponge and hot water.
- Keep AdBlue® out of reach of children in its original container.
- Never store AdBlue® containers in the vehicle.
- Use only AdBlue® fluid meeting the ISO 22241 standard.
- Never transfer AdBlue® to another container or dilute it with water.
- After an AdBlue® top-up following a breakdown, wait approximately five minutes before switching on the ignition, without opening the driver's door or bringing the electronic key into the passenger compartment.
