4.1 Function Overview
Display YL80C provides a variety of functions to meet your riding needs, including:
- Battery level indicator

4.3 Button Definitions
There are five buttons on the operating unit of display YL80C: the on/off button [
], plus button [ ], minus button [ ], headlight button [ ], and switching button [ ].5. General Operation
5.1 Power On/Off
By pressing and holding the [
] button, the display will start to work and the controller's power supply will be turned on. In the power-on state, pressing the [ ] button powers off your e-bike. In the power-off state, the display consumes less than 1uA leakage current.If your e-bike is not used for more than 10 minutes, the display will automatically power off.
5.2 Display Interface
After the display is turned on, it shows the real-time speed (km/h) and trip distance (km) by default. Pressing the [

5.3 Push Assistance
By pressing and holding the [
] button, the electric push assistance mode is enabled. Your e-bike will run at a constant speed of 6km/h, and the display will show '6 km/h'. Releasing the [ ] button stops power output and returns to the previous state.The display shows '6 km/h' during push assistance.
The push assistance function is intended for use only when pushing your e-bike, not while riding.
5.4 Headlight On/Off
Pressing the [
] button turns on the headlights and dims the display backlight. Pressing the [ ] button again turns off the headlights and restores the display backlight luminance.The display shows a headlight icon.
5.5 Assist Level Selection
By pressing the [
] or [ ] buttons, the e-bike assist level is switched to change the motor output power.The display shows assist level '3'.
5.6 Battery Level Indicator
The battery level indicator consists of five segments. All segments are lit when the battery is fully charged. In case of undervoltage, the battery indicator outline flashes, signaling the need for immediate charging.

5.7 Motor Power Indicator
The display indicates the motor's output power.
The display shows motor power output.
5.8 Error Code Indicator
When a fault occurs in the electronic control system, the display automatically shows an error code. Detailed definitions are in Schedule 1.
The display shows an error code '30'.
If an error code appears, troubleshoot promptly to ensure normal e-bike operation.
6. General Setting
All parameters can only be set when the e-bike is stopped. The steps for general setting are as follows:
In the power-on state, when the display shows a speed of 0:
- Press and hold the [ ] and [ ] buttons simultaneously for more than 2 seconds to enter the general setting options interface.
- Press the [ ] or [ ] button to switch between general setting options, and press the [ ] button to enter the parameter modification interface.
- Press the [ ] or [ ] button for parameter selection.
- Press the [ ] button to save the parameter and return to the general setting options interface.
- Press and hold the [ ] button to save the parameter and exit the general setting options interface.
The following general setting options are available:
6.1 Trip Distance Reset
tC refers to the trip distance reset item. 'tC-n' means not to reset, and 'tC-y' means to reset the trip distance.
Press the [
] button to enter the parameter modification interface. Press the [ ] or [ ] button for parameter selection.Press the [
] button to save the parameter and return to the general setting options interface.The display shows 'tC-n' or 'tC-y' for trip distance reset.
6.2 Backlight Luminance Setting
bL refers to the backlight luminance setting. Parameters bL-1, bL-2, and bL-3 represent minimum, standard, and maximum luminance, respectively.

6.3 Metric/Imperial System Setting
Un refers to the metric/imperial system setting. U-1 represents the imperial system (mile/h), and U-2 represents the metric system (km/h).

7. General Parameter Setting
The steps for general parameter setting are as follows:
In the power-on state, when the display shows a speed of 0:
- Press and hold the [ ] and [ ] buttons simultaneously for more than 2 seconds to enter the general setting options interface.
- Press and hold the [ ] and [ ] buttons simultaneously for more than 2 seconds to enter the general parameter setting options interface.
- Press the [ ] or [ ] button to switch functions, and press the [ ] button to enter the parameter modification interface.
- Press the [ ] or [ ] button for parameter selection.
- Press the [ ] button to save the parameter and enter the next selection interface of general parameter setting options.
- Press and hold the [ ] button to save the parameter and exit the general parameter setting options interface.
7.1 Wheel Diameter Setting
Ld refers to the wheel diameter setting option. Available parameters include: 8-26, 700C, 28-30 inches.
Press the [
] button to enter the parameter modification interface. Press the [ ] or [ ] button to select the wheel diameter corresponding to your e-bike for accurate speed and distance indication. Press the [ ] button to save the parameter and enter the next selection interface of general parameter setting options.The display shows 'Ld' and a wheel diameter parameter like '700C'.
7.2 Speed Limit Setting
LS refers to the speed limit setting option. Modifying this value sets the maximum riding speed of your e-bike. The selectable range is 12km/h-40km/h.
Press the [
] button to enter the parameter modification interface. Press the [ ] or [ ] button to select the maximum riding speed. Press the [ ] button to save the parameter and enter the next selection interface of general parameter setting options.The display shows 'LS' and a speed limit like '25 km/h'.
8. Custom Setting
To meet individual customer requirements, custom setting options are available, including: battery level setting, assistance parameter setting, current limit setting, assistance sensor setting, speed sensor setting, handlebar function setting, system setting, and power-on password setting (eight options in total). Not all protocols support all custom setting options of the YL80C display; some protocols only support a subset.
The display shows a sequence of custom setting options: VOL, SCR, CUr, PAS, Hnd, SYS, PUS, PSd.
The steps for custom setting are as follows:
In the power-on state, when the display shows a speed of 0:
- Press and hold the [ ] and [ ] buttons simultaneously for more than 2 seconds to enter the general setting options interface.
- Press and hold the [ ] and [ ] buttons simultaneously for more than 2 seconds to enter the custom setting options interface.
- Press the [ ] or [ ] button to switch functions, and press the [ ] button to enter the parameter modification interface.
- Press the [ ] or [ ] button for parameter selection.
- Press the [ ] button to save the parameter and enter the next parameter setting interface; or press and hold the [ ] button to save the parameter and return to the custom setting options interface; or press and hold the [ ] button for more than 2 seconds to cancel the operation without saving and return to the custom setting options interface.
- Press and hold the [ ] button to save the parameter and exit the custom setting options interface.
If no operations are performed within one minute, the display will automatically exit the setting interface.
8.1 Battery Level Setting
VOL refers to the battery level setting option. You will be required to input the voltage values for sections 1-5 one by one.
Press the [
] button to enter the parameter modification interface. For example, to set the first battery level value for 36V: the display shows '1' for the voltage value and '31.5' for the battery level. Press the [ ] or [ ] button to change the value, and press the [ ] button to confirm the setting and proceed to the next section. After all 5 battery level values are set, press the [ ] button to confirm settings and return to the custom setting options interface.The display shows 'VOL' and battery level values.
8.2 Assistance Parameter Setting (Option)
SCR refers to the assistance parameter setting option. Press the [
] button to enter the parameter modification interface.8.2.1 Assist Level Selection
The available assist levels are: 0-3, 1-3, 0-5, 1-5, 0-7, 1-7, 0-9, and 1-9.
Press the [
] or [ ] button to switch the level. Press the [ ] button to confirm the level mode and enter the 8.2.2 assistance ratio setting option, or press and hold the [ ] button to confirm the setting and return to the custom setting options interface.The display shows 'SCR' and an assist level range like '0-5'.
8.2.2 Assistance Ratio Setting Option
By setting the assistance ratio, the speed of each level can be adjusted to meet the needs of different cyclists. Refer to Schedule 2 for details.
For example, level 1 might have an assistance ratio range of "45-55%", with a default value of "50%" for level 1, which is adjustable.
Press the [
] or [ ] button to modify the parameter. Press the [ ] button to confirm the setting and enter the parameter setting interface for the next level. After all levels' parameters are set, press the [ ] button again to return to the custom setting options interface.The display shows 'SCR' and an assistance ratio setting like '1-50'.
8.3 Current Limit Setting
CUr refers to the current limit setting option. The current limit can be set in the range of 7.0-25.0A.
Press the [
] button to enter the parameter modification interface. Press the [ ] or [ ] button for parameter selection.Modify the maximum current of the controller and press the [
] button to save the setting and return to the custom setting options interface.The display shows 'CUr' and a current limit setting like '15.0'.
8.4 Assistance Sensor Setting (Option)
PAS refers to the assistance sensor setting option. Press the [
] button to enter the parameter modification interface.8.4.1 Assistance Sensor Direction Setting
Run refers to the assistance sensor direction setting option. The screen displays 'Run-F/b'. 'Run-F' represents the forward direction, and 'Run-b' represents the backward direction.
Press the [
] or [ ] button to select the assistance sensor direction. Press the [ ] button to confirm the parameter and enter the 8.4.2 assistance sensor sensitivity setting option, or press and hold the [ ] button to confirm the parameter and return to the custom setting options interface.The display shows 'PAS' and 'run-F' for assistance sensor direction.
8.4.2 Assistance Sensor Sensitivity Setting
SCN refers to the assistance sensor sensitivity setting option. The setting range is 2-9, where 2 means maximum sensitivity and 9 means minimum sensitivity.
Press the [
] or [ ] button to select the assistance sensor sensitivity. Press the [ ] button to confirm the parameter and enter the 8.4.3 steel magnet number setting option for assistance magnetic disk, or press and hold the [ ] button to confirm the parameter and return to the custom setting options interface.The display shows 'SCN' and a sensitivity level like 'SCN-2'.
8.4.3 Steel Magnet Number Setting for Assistance Magnetic Disk
n- refers to the steel magnet number setting option for the assistance magnetic disk. The setting range is 5, 9, 12, 24.
Press the [
] or [ ] button to select the corresponding number of steel magnets for assistance, and press the [ ] button to confirm the parameter and return to the custom setting options interface.The display shows 'PAS' and a magnet number like 'n-12'.
8.5 Speed Sensor Setting
SPS refers to the speed sensor setting option, which can be set according to the number of magnetic heads installed on the wheels of your e-bike. The setting range is 1-15.

] button to confirm the parameter and return to the custom setting options interface.The display shows 'SPS' and a speed sensor setting like 'SPS-01'.
8.6 Handlebar Function Setting (Option)
Hnd refers to the handlebar function setting option. Press the [
] button to enter the parameter modification interface.8.6.1 Handlebar Push Assistance Enable Setting
HL refers to the handlebar push assistance enable setting. 'HL-N' means the push assistance function is enabled. 'HL-Y' means it is disabled, implying that turning the handlebar activates push assistance mode.
Press the [
] or [ ] button to select a parameter. If 'HL-Y' is selected, press the [ ] button to confirm and return to the custom setting options interface. If 'HL-N' is selected, press the [ ] button to confirm the parameter and enter the 8.6.2 handlebar assist level enable setting option, or press and hold the [ ] button to confirm the parameter and return to the custom setting options interface.The display shows 'Hnd' and 'HL-Y' for handlebar push assistance setting.
8.6.2 Handlebar Assist Level Enable Setting
HF-Y refers to the handlebar assist level enabling option. 'HF-N' means the assist level function is disabled. If 'HF-Y' is selected, the maximum speed is limited to the value corresponding to the displayed assist level when turning the handlebar. If 'HF-N' is selected, your e-bike can reach the rated maximum speed without being restricted by the assist level when turning the handlebar.
Press the [
] or [ ] button to select the handlebar assist level status, and press the [ ] button to confirm the parameter and return to the custom setting options interface.The display shows 'Hnd' and 'HF-N' for handlebar assist level enable setting.
8.7 System Setting (Option)
SYS refers to the system setting option. Press the [
] button to enter the parameter modification interface.8.7.1 Battery Delay Time Setting
dLY refers to the battery delay time setting option. There are 3 parameters: 3s, 6s, 12s.
Press the [
] or [ ] button for parameter selection. Press the [ ] button to confirm the parameter and enter the 8.7.2 button push assistance enable setting option, or press and hold the [ ] button to confirm the parameter and return to the selection interface of custom setting options.The display shows 'SYS' and 'dLY-3' for battery delay time setting.
8.7.2 Button Push Assistance Enable Setting
PUS refers to the button push assistance enable setting. 'Y' represents enable, and 'N' represents disable.
Press the [
] or [ ] button for parameter selection, and press the [ ] button to confirm the parameter and return to the selection interface of custom setting options.The display shows 'PUS' and 'PUS-Y' for button push assistance enable setting.
8.8 Power-on Password Setting (Option)
PSd refers to the power-on password setting option. P2 represents the power-on password setting. The default power-on password is 1212.
Press the [
] button to enter the power-on password setting interface. Press the [ ] or [ ] button for parameter selection, and press the [ ] button to move the cursor. After the 4-digit password is input, press the [ ] button to confirm the parameter. If the password is correct, the display enters the 8.8.1 power-on password enable setting option; otherwise, it remains in the password input interface.The display shows 'P2' and '0000' for power-on password input.
8.8.1 Power-on Password Enable Setting
By inputting the password, you can enter the password enable setting option. 'PSd-Y' means a power-on password is required, and 'PSd-N' means no power-on passwords are required.
Press the [
] or [ ] button for parameter selection.If 'PSd-N' is selected, press the [
] button to confirm and return to the custom setting options interface. If 'PSd-Y' is selected, press the [ ] button to enter the 8.8.2 power-on password modification setting option, or press and hold the [ ] button to confirm the parameter and return to the custom setting options interface.The display shows 'PSd' and 'PSd-n' for password enable confirmation.
8.8.2 Power-on Password Modification Setting
P3 refers to the power-on password modification setting option. Press the [
] button for cursor movement and the [ ] or [ ] button for parameter selection. After modification, press and hold the [ ] button to save and confirm the parameter, returning to the custom setting options interface. If the display is rebooted, it will show 'P1, 0000' and will not function until the correct password is entered.The display shows 'P3' and '1212' for password modification.
9. Restore Default Settings
dEF refers to the setting option for restoring default parameters. 'dEF-Y' means default settings need to be restored, and 'dEF-N' means no restoration is needed.
In the normal display interface, press and hold the [
] and [ ] buttons simultaneously for more than 2 seconds to enter the restore default settings interface. Switch the parameter by pressing the [ ] or [ ] button. If 'Y' is chosen, press the [ ] button to confirm. The display will show 'dEF-0' and begin restoring default settings. After completion, it will automatically exit and return to the normal display interface.The display shows 'dEF' and 'dEF-n' for restore default settings.
10. Quality Commitments and Warranty Scope
10.1 Warranty Information
- For faults caused by product quality under normal use, the Company provides limited warranty during the warranty period.
- The warranty period is within 12 months from delivery.
10.2 Non-Warranty Scope
- The enclosure is opened.
- The connector is damaged.
- The enclosure is scratched or damaged after delivery.
- The outgoing line of the display is scratched or broken.
- Faults or damage caused by force majeure (e.g., fires, earthquakes) or natural disasters (e.g., lightning strikes).
- The warranty period has expired.
11. Outgoing Line Connection Diagram
11.1 Wiring Sequence of Standard Connector
A diagram shows connector details: a connecting terminal to the controller with wires 1-5, a leading-out terminal of the display, and a connecting terminal. It also shows the projection and groove for connection.

12. Considerations
- Please use safely and do not plug or unplug the display when it is powered on.
- Please avoid bumping as far as possible.
- Do not alter the display's background parameter settings arbitrarily, as this may affect normal riding.
- If the display malfunctions, it should be repaired as soon as possible.
- Due to product upgrades, displayed contents or functions may differ from this manual depending on the actual model.
