Automatic Fall Detection
Please be aware that the automatic fall detection feature of this product will not detect 100% of falls. Falls can occur in many ways, and the fall detector is not guaranteed to detect every fall. It is recommended that the user manually activates the device whenever possible. The fall detection technology does not analyze or interpret 100% of fall situations. Soft falls, slumping falls, and descent-controlled falls against a wall or chair may not be detected. Due to technological limitations and the aim to minimize false alarms, not all falls will be detected. Therefore, the manual trigger remains vital for the user and should be used whenever possible. No liability is accepted for the failure of the automatic fall detection to detect a fall event.
Mobile Devices – Using GPS/GSM/3G/4G
This product utilizes mobile phone signal (GSM/GPRS) and/or GPS, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi location signals. The company is not responsible for any failure of a product or service arising from or in consequence of a total or partial failure of these signals. Mobile phone signal can be unreliable, and signal quality can vary. The company is not responsible if the product cannot connect or is unable to connect to mobile phone, GPS, Bluetooth, or Wi-Fi networks. This exclusion of liability applies even if a SIM card has been provided. It is the user's responsibility to ensure an active subscription for the pre-pay SIM usage. The company is not responsible for the device not operating due to an inactive subscription or failure to maintain up-to-date payment details.
Important Information – Please Read
This guide provides essential information about your alarm. If you have further questions, please contact help@personalalarms.org.
Important Instructions for Your Alarm

Setting your SOS numbers
Your SureSafeGO can be programmed with up to 5 emergency contacts via SMS from any cell phone to the alarm.
To program the 1st SOS number: Send text 'A1,1,1,phone number'. For example, to program (959) 123-4567, text 'A1,1,1,9591234567'. A confirmation reply will be received if successful.
Repeat for the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th numbers using 'A2,1,1,', 'A3,1,1,', 'A4,1,1,', and 'A5,1,1,' respectively. For example, to program (666)123-4567 as the second number, send 'A2,1,1,6661234567'.
Checking your SOS numbers:
Send the text 'A?' to the SureSafeGO to receive a list of programmed emergency contacts.
Tips:
- The alarm must be switched on to program. An active Sure-Safe SIM plan is required.
- The alarm's phone number is on the side of the box.
- No spaces are allowed in programming commands.
- A minimum of 1 emergency contact is required; you do not need to set all 5.
- Each emergency contact number can be programmed per SMS.
- If receiving SOS calls but not texts, check programming for spaces in the command.
Automatic Fall Detection
Fall detection is designed to identify falls resembling trips. The wearer must fall more than 1 meter and remain stationary for a few moments. When a fall is detected, a voice alert will announce it. Press the SOS button for 1 second to cancel the help call if it's a false alarm. Manual SOS activation is strongly recommended for assistance.
To turn off fall detection, send text 'FLO' to the alarm's phone number. To turn it back on, send text 'FL1,5,1'.
Note: Please refer to the disclaimer at the front of this guide regarding the limitations of automatic fall detection.
Getting a GPS location
GPS works via satellite triangulation. Take the alarm outside for 3-5 minutes after charging for the initial location. Ensure a clear line of sight to the sky; otherwise, the location may appear as the office or factory location.
Setting your home location
Indoor GPS signal can be weak. The SureSafeGO can scan and save Wi-Fi addresses in your home location to identify if you are at home when the SOS button is pressed. If not at home, it uses GPS.
Steps to set home location:
- Ensure the alarm is on and at the home location.
- Send text command 'Wifi1' to the SureSafeGO. You will receive a reply 'Wifi Loc On'.
- Text 'Loc' to the alarm to get the GPS location.
- Click the link in the reply to view the location on a map. If incorrect, take the device outside for 2-3 minutes and repeat step 2.
- Copy the correct location coordinates from the map/location screen.
- Send text command 'WFA[pasted location coordinates],home' to scan for Wi-Fi networks at home. A confirmation text will list the identified Wi-Fi networks.
- The SureSafeGO will now automatically report its home location when it detects these Wi-Fi networks.
Note: The alarm does not connect to or make calls via Wi-Fi networks; it only uses their presence to identify the home location.
Contact help@personalalarms.org for assistance with setting up the home location feature.
Location Requests & Geo-Fence
Location Requests
Make on-demand location requests by sending the text 'Loc' to the SureSafe Dementia Tracker. The tracker will reply with a Google Maps link to its location.
Setting your Geo-fence
Geo-fence alerts notify family members if the tracker leaves a defined geographic area (e.g., more than 200m from home). Use only when the wearer is at risk of wandering to avoid false alarms during daily activities like shopping or walking.
Alerts: When triggered, an SMS is sent to all saved contacts. The geo-fence is triggered within 2 minutes of leaving the 'safe zone' and an SMS is sent upon return.
Setting up Geo-fence:
- Step 1: Ensure the GPS chip is active. Send text 'Mode6,02M,01H'. (Note: GPS active reduces battery life to 48-72 hours).
- Step 2: Take the Dementia Tracker to the center of the desired geo-fence area (usually the home). Send text 'Geo1,1,0,100m' to set a 100m radius. The radius can be adjusted (e.g., 'Geo1,1,0,500m' for 500m). The minimum radius is 100 meters. A confirmation text will be received.
Switching off your Geo-fence
Send text 'Geo1,0' to switch off the geo-fence. Then, send 'Mode4,168h' to return the GPS chip to default settings. Confirmation texts will be received for both commands.
Activating your alarm
In an emergency, hold the SOS button for 3 seconds until it vibrates. A pre-alert allows cancellation of accidental activations. After location identification, your alarm sends an SMS with your location to the first emergency contact and then calls them. If unanswered within 10-15 seconds, it calls the next contact. This repeats for all 5 contacts or until the SOS is answered. The call answer time is set to avoid voicemail. Once answered, a two-way conversation is possible. The call disconnects after 90 seconds.
Cancelling your alarm call
To cancel an alarm, press the SOS button again for 1 second. This disconnects the current call and stops further calls. The alarm will announce the cancellation.
Calling the SureSafeGO and answering calls
The SureSafeGO is not intended for regular communication. Calling the device uses the pre-paid subscription allowance. In an emergency, you can call the SureSafeGO using its phone number. A quick press of the SOS button answers the call, enabling two-way communication. To end the call, press the SOS button for 1 second.
Voice announcements / Silent mode
Advanced Voice Notifications: The SureSafeGO provides verbal alerts for low battery, charging status, SOS activation/cancellation, and fall detection.
To switch off Advanced Voice Notifications, press the bottom side button twice. Press twice again to switch them back on. Keeping them enabled is recommended for user awareness.
