Features of Firmware Version 1.04

Updates to Supported Optional Accessories (Version 1.04)
Firmware version 1.04 adds support for the following optional accessories:

Hazard Distance according to IEC62471-5
When using projectors and interchangeable lenses that change to Risk Group 3, direct exposure to the beam is not permitted. Operators must control access to the beam within the hazard distance or install the product at a height that prevents eye exposure. Looking into the lens at distances closer than indicated can cause eyesight damage.

Features of Firmware Version 1.05
This section summarizes the updated features for projector firmware version 1.05.
Updates to Projector Menus (Version 1.05)
The following projector menu changes were made in firmware version 1.05:
- 21:9 Support: Added to the Extended > Display > Screen > Screen Type menu.
- EDID Setting: Added to the Signal > Advanced > EDID setting. This is useful for video meetings using Microsoft Teams Rooms with Front Row layout.

Note: 3440x1440 and 2560x1080 are available when the EDID Preset is set to 3480x2160/30Hz. When 21:9 is selected as the Screen Type, 2560x1080/60Hz is automatically selected as the EDID setting.

Updates to Supported Software (Version 2.00)
Firmware version 2.00 supports the following software:
- Epson Projector Professional Tool Version 1.5. Refer to the Epson Professional Projector Tool Operation Guide for more details.
Updates to Projector Menus (Version 2.00)
The following projector menus were updated in firmware version 2.00:
- Group Tiling: Added to the Extended > Multi-Projection menu. The menu hierarchy for Projector Grouping, Tiling, and Scale has been changed.
- Simple Blending: Added to Extended > Multi-Projection.
Updates to User Operations (Version 2.00)
The following projector operations were updated in firmware version 2.00:
- Stacking & Blending: Added as a projected image composition method using the Epson Projector Professional Tool software.
- Curved Surface Correction: When compositing projected images using the camera assist feature in the Epson Projector Professional Tool software, curved surfaces are now supported in addition to flat surfaces.
- Start Auto Adjustment: Automatically adjusts the projected image using the external camera.
- Screen Matching: Corrects the tint and brightness of each projected image.

Firmware version 2.50 supports the following software:

Updates to User Operations (Version 2.50)
This version supports Camera Assist V150.

- Selecting the Image Aspect (Camera Assist V150): The Geometry Assist wizard now supports 16:9 video aspect ratio in addition to 16:10. Supported functions include Stacking and Blending (horizontal direction only), and Stacking & Blending (horizontal direction only).
- Overshoot Light (Camera Assist V150): The Geometry Assist wizard now supports overshoot light, allowing automatic adjustment of projected images that extend onto adjacent walls.
Features of Firmware Version 2.60

Updates to Supported Software (Version 2.60)
Epson Projector Management: Explanations in the User's Guide regarding the authentication method for registering projectors have been updated. For best results, use the latest version of the Epson Projector Management software.

- Epson Projector Management Ver. 5.30 or earlier: Monitor Password
- Epson Projector Management Ver. 5.40 or later: Web Control Password
Updates to Projector Menus (Version 2.60)
The following projector menus have changed in firmware version 2.60:
- EPMC Monitoring Control: Added to the Network menu. Set to On to communicate directly with the Epson Projector Management Connected cloud server. See the Epson Projector Management Connected Operation Guide for more details: https://www.projection-service.epson.com/pages/epm-connected/online-manual/web-front/EN/index.html
- Monitor Password: Added to the Network > Network Configuration > Basic menu. Useful for monitoring and controlling projectors with a switcher, system controller, or Epson Projector Management Ver. 5.30 or earlier. This setting is available only when Command Communication is set to Compatible. Ensure the Monitor Password matches the system controller's password. Up to 16 alphanumeric characters (excluding spaces, except '@') can be used.
- Command Communication: The explanation in the User's Guide has been updated. Options include 'Protected' (digest authentication using Web Control Password, requires latest Epson Projector Management software) and 'Compatible' (plain text authentication using Monitor Password).
- Crestron XiO Cloud: Added to the Network > Network Configuration > Others menu. Set to On to monitor and control projectors and other devices over the network using the Crestron XiO Cloud service. Stacking & Blending Using the Epson Projector Professional Tool Software
Stacking & Blending is now available for projected image composition using the Epson Projector Professional Tool software. The Geometry Assist - Stacking & Blending Function wizard facilitates the creation of a single, large, bright projected image by joining and overlapping multiple projector images.
- Start the Epson Projector Professional Tool software.
- Create a projector group supporting Stacking & Blending on the Layout/Monitoring tab.
- Select Blending and Stacking Settings on the Create Group screen.
- Specify projector positions in the Blending and Stacking Settings.
- Start the Geometry Assist - Stacking & Blending Function wizard.
After the wizard completes, perform the following operations as necessary:
- Screen Matching: Corrects the tint and brightness of each projected image.
- Point Correction: Adjusts gaps in the positions of the projected image.
Curved Surface Correction Using the Epson Projector Professional Tool Software
The Epson Projector Professional Tool's Geometry Assist wizard now supports curved surfaces for compositing projected images, in addition to flat surfaces.
- Previous Image Composition (Version 1.05): Only supported flat surfaces.
- New Image Composition (Version 2.00): Supports curved surfaces with the following functions: Screen Matching (convex surfaces not supported), Color Calibration, Blending, Stacking, and Stacking & Blending.

Details of User Operation Change (Version 2.00) - Curved Surface Correction
When using the camera assist feature for curved surface correction:
- All projectors in the group must support the Curved Surface Correction feature.
- Determine linearity positions and attach markers to the screen for adjustment before using the software for automatic adjustment.
- Attach linearity adjustment stickers at equally spaced intervals on the projection surface.
- Align correction points with the stickers during Geometry Assist wizard adjustments.
Simple Blending Using the Projector's Menu and the Optional External Camera
This function allows the creation of a horizontally wide screen image from two projectors using an optional external camera. It requires the external camera to be installed.
Conditions for Simple Blending:
- An optional external camera is installed on each projector.
- Wait 2 minutes after powering on two projectors before starting simple blending.
- Use a matte white diffusion screen that is flat and even.
- The projector must face the screen squarely, without angling.
- Ensure nothing obstructs the external camera or the projected image.
- The illuminance ratio between all-white and all-black screens should be 8:1 or more. For screen illuminance of 40 lux or less, use the following projection sizes:
- Up to 9.9 Klm: 50 to 200 inches
- 10 Klm to 14.9 Klm: 60 to 300 inches
- 15 Klm to 19.9 Klm: 70 to 350 inches
- 20 Klm to 24.9 Klm: 80 to 400 inches
- 25 Klm to 29.9 Klm: 90 to 450 inches
- 30 Klm: 100 to 500 inches
- The original resolution of all projectors must be the same (except for screen matching).
- The projector's Extended menu must be set to Front or Front/Ceiling for all projectors.
Setup Steps:
- Connect two projectors using a LAN cable.
- Ensure the DHCP setting is enabled in the projector's Network menu for both projectors. Wait 1 minute after automatic IP address assignment.
- Select Extended > Multi-Projection > Simple Blending and press [Enter]. Press [Enter] again if necessary.
- Select Location Setup and specify the primary projector's position (A1 or B1).
- Select the image aspect in the Whole Screen Aspect setting for the merged wide image. Available aspects include:
- 21:9 (EDID 3440x1440)
- 21:9 (EDID 2560x1080)
- 16:6 (EDID 2880x1080)
- 16:6 (EDID 1920x720)
- 3:1 (EDID 3240x1080)
- 32:10 (EDID 3456x1080)
- 32:9 (EDID 3200x900)
- Perform Start Auto Adjustment. Follow on-screen instructions to adjust projection position. If manual adjustment is needed, use the [Lens Shift] button or the [Lens] button on the control panel to align the green and magenta patterns.
- After auto adjustment, perform Correct Shape as instructed on the screen.
- Perform Screen Matching to adjust image brightness and tint.
Troubleshooting Simple Blending:
- Ensure projectors are correctly placed and connected via LAN cable.
- Verify the optional external camera is installed correctly and its cable is securely connected. Contact Epson if the camera may be defective.
- Avoid strong spotlights or natural light interfering with the process.
- Resize the projection size if necessary.
- Check error codes during the simple blending process:
- 0402: Measurement failure
- 0406: Geometry correction error
- 0407/0408: Potential external camera defect or communication error. Contact Epson for support.

Selecting the Image Aspect (Camera Assist V150)
The Geometry Assist wizard for the Epson Projector Professional Tool now supports 16:9 video aspect ratio, in addition to 16:10.
- Previous version (Version 2.00): Supported only 16:10.
- New version (Version 2.50): Supports 16:9 aspect ratio for Stacking, Blending (horizontal direction only), and Stacking & Blending (horizontal direction only).
Overshoot Light (Camera Assist V150)
The Epson Projector Professional Tool's Geometry Assist wizard now supports overshoot light, allowing automatic adjustment of projected images even when they extend onto the wall adjacent to the target projection area.

Epson Projector Management
The explanation regarding the authentication method for registering projectors in the User's Guide has been updated. For optimal results, use the latest version of the Epson Projector Management software.

The EPMC Monitoring Control menu has been added to the Network menu.
- Previous Network Menu (Version 2.50): No setting available.
- New Network Menu (Version 2.60): Navigate to Network > EPMC Monitoring Control. Set to On for direct communication with the Epson Projector Management Connected cloud server, bypassing the Epson Projector Connected Agent. Monitor Password
The Monitor Password setting has been added to the Network > Network Configuration > Basic menu.
- Previous Basic Menu (Version 2.50): No setting available.
- New Basic Menu (Version 2.60): Navigate to Network > Network Configuration > Basic > Monitor Password. This is useful for monitoring and controlling projectors with a switcher, system controller, or using Epson Projector Management Ver. 5.30 or earlier. This setting is only available when Command Communication is set to Compatible. Ensure the Monitor Password matches the system controller's password. Up to 16 alphanumeric characters (excluding spaces, except '@') can be used.
Command Communication
The explanation in the User's Guide has been updated.
- Previous Version (Version 2.50): Network > Network Configuration > Others > Command Communication. Allows selection of the authentication method for command communication.
- New Version (Version 2.60): Allows selection of authentication methods:
- Protected: For digest authentication using Web Control Password (requires the latest Epson Projector Management software).
- Compatible: For plain text authentication using the Monitor Password (up to 16 alphanumeric characters). Select this when monitoring projectors with a switcher and system controller, or using Epson Projector Management Ver. 5.30 or earlier. Ensure the Monitor Password matches the switcher or system controller's password.
Crestron XiO Cloud
The Crestron XiO Cloud setting has been added to the Network > Network Configuration > Others menu.
- Previous Others Menu (Version 2.50): No setting available.
- New Others Menu (Version 2.60): Navigate to Network > Network Configuration > Others > Crestron XiO Cloud. Set to On to monitor and control your projector and other devices over the network using the Crestron XiO Cloud service. Manage multiple devices from one location.
