Installation

Method 1: Install with Screws

Before installation you will need:

Step 1: Confirm Installation Position

Tips: To ensure optimal performance and avoid repositioning, add the Keypad Touch to the SwitchBot app first. Test control of the Lock from the chosen position, ensuring it is within 5 meters (16.4 ft) of your Lock. Once confirmed, use the alignment sticker and a pencil to mark the screw holes.

Ensure distance is less than 5m (16.4ft)

Step 2: Determine Drill Bit Size and Drill Holes

Tips: For outdoor use, screw installation is recommended for security. For hard surfaces like concrete or brick, use a 6 mm (15/64") drill bit and expansion bolts. For wood or plaster, use a 2.8 mm (7/64") drill bit. Consult a professional if unsure about drilling.

Step 3: Attach Mounting Plate to the Wall

Tips: If the wall surface is uneven, place the rubber rings at the bottom screw holes of the mounting plate. Ensure the mounting plate is firmly attached with no excess movement.

Affix the mounting plate to the wall using screws. Ensure it is secure.

Step 4: Attach Keypad Touch to Mounting Plate

Align the metal buttons on the back of the Keypad Touch with the holes on the mounting plate. Slide the Keypad Touch downwards until it locks into place. Press firmly to ensure stability.

Method 2: Install with Adhesive Tape

Step 1: Confirm Installation Position

Tips: Similar to Method 1, test functionality via the app first to ensure the Keypad Touch is within 5 meters (16.4 ft) of the Lock. 3M adhesive tape works best on smooth surfaces (glass, ceramic tile). Clean the surface before application. Screw installation is generally more secure.

Ensure distance is less than 5m (16.4ft)

Step 2: Attach Mounting Plate to the Wall

Tips: Ensure the installation surface is smooth and clean. The surface and tape temperature should be above 0°C for optimal adhesion. Press the mounting plate firmly for 2 minutes.

Attach the adhesive tape to the back of the mounting plate and stick it to the marked position on the wall. Press firmly for 2 minutes.

Step 3: Attach Keypad Touch to Mounting Plate

Ensure the mounting plate is securely attached. Align the metal buttons on the back of the Keypad Touch with the holes on the mounting plate. Slide the Keypad Touch downwards until it locks. Press firmly to ensure stability.

Keypad Touch Removal

Tips: Do not force removal to avoid damaging the device.

Insert the ejection pin into the removal hole with pressure and pull the Keypad Touch upwards.

Keypad Touch Removal Alerts

Removal alerts are activated once the Keypad Touch is added to your SwitchBot account. Alerts are triggered each time the Keypad Touch is removed from the mounting plate.

Users can dismiss alerts by entering the correct passcode, verifying fingerprints, or using NFC cards.

Precautions

The product cannot control the Lock when the battery is depleted. Check battery levels via the app or device indicator regularly and replace batteries promptly. Carry a physical key when the battery is low.

If an error occurs, do not use the product and contact SwitchBot Customer Service.
