The Model One radio features a classic design with a wooden cabinet and analog tuning. It is capable of receiving AM and FM broadcasts and offers connectivity for external audio sources via its AUX IN port.

Figure A Description: Illustrates the proper grounding of an outside antenna system, including the antenna lead-in wire, antenna discharge unit, grounding conductors, and power service grounding electrode system, as per NEC Article 810.
- An outside antenna system should not be located near overhead power lines. Extreme care must be taken to avoid contact with power lines, which could be fatal.
- Operate only from the indicated power source type. For external power supplies, use exact replacements. For battery power, refer to the user manual.
- Unplug and refer servicing to qualified personnel if:
- Power supply cord or plug is damaged.
- Liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the product.
- Product has been exposed to water or rain.
- Product does not operate normally.
- Product has been dropped or damaged.
- Product exhibits a distinctive change in performance.
- When replacement parts are required, ensure the technician uses manufacturer-specified parts.
- After service, ask the technician to perform safety checks.
- Apparatus shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing, and no objects filled with liquids shall be placed on it.
- Recommended operating temperature: 41°F - 104°F (5°C to 40°C).
- The 12VDC input is suitable for boats or campers with an optional 12VDC, 1A fused adapter.
- Keep away from naked flames, such as lit candles.
- WARNING: Mains are not disconnected in the OFF position, but circuits are de-powered.
- The main plug disconnects the system from the mains; connect to an easily accessible AC outlet.

Guide to Features
Front Panel
Description of Front Panel: The front panel features a classic design with a large tuning dial, volume control, and source selection knob. A tuning indicator light and power indicator are also present.
Controls:
- 1. VOLUME KNOB: Rotate to increase or decrease volume. Also controls headphone volume.
- 2. OFF/FM/AM/AUX KNOB: Selects power state and audio source (FM, AM, or Auxiliary input).
- 3. TUNING KNOB: Rotate to tune into FM (upper dial) or AM (lower dial) frequencies.
- 4. TUNING INDICATOR: Illuminates when the best tuning is achieved. Some AM stations may require tuning by ear.
- 5. POWER INDICATOR: Glows when the unit is powered on (any position other than Off).
Rear Panel
Description of Rear Panel: The rear panel contains various input and output connections, along with safety warnings and compliance information.
Connections:
- 6. 12VDC/800mA: Input for an optional 12VDC, 1A fused adapter, suitable for portable use in vehicles or boats. Requires a 5.5mm/2.1mm center-positive connector.
- 7. FM ANTENNA SWITCH: Selects between the internal FM antenna and an external FM antenna. This switch does not affect AM reception.
- 8. EXTERNAL FM CONNECTION: An "F" connector for attaching an external FM antenna or coaxial cable. Sliding the included FM antenna over this connector and setting the switch to "External" may improve FM reception.
- 9. EXTERNAL AM CONNECTION: A jack for connecting an optional external AM antenna (not included), accepting a 1/8" stereo male mini connector.
- 10. HEADPHONE OUT: A variable stereo output for private listening. Connects to a headset with a 1/8" stereo male mini connector. The headset volume is controlled by the main volume knob. The primary speaker is muted when headphones are connected. Avoid high volumes to prevent hearing damage.
- 11. AUX IN: A stereo input for connecting external audio devices like CD players, MP3 players, or computers. Connect the device's audio output to this jack and select "Aux" on the front panel knob. The stereo signal is summed to mono. Volume levels may need adjustment for auxiliary devices.
- REC OUT: A fixed-level stereo output for connecting to a cassette deck's audio input or other recording devices. It can also be used to connect to a preamplifier or integrated amplifier. The primary speaker is not muted when using this output. Accepts a 1/8" stereo male mini connector.
- AC INPUT: Connection point for the included power cord. Always grasp the plug firmly when unplugging from the wall outlet.

Operation and Placement
Reception
The internal FM and AM antennas provide good reception. An optional outdoor antenna or FM dipole antenna may provide better reception. Connecting cable television coaxial cable to the external FM connection might also provide clear local reception (activation may be required by the cable company).
For AM reception, rotate the radio for best signal. An optional external AM antenna may improve reception.
Factors affecting reception include building materials (concrete, steel, aluminum siding), and nearby electronic devices (electric blankets, computers, CD players). Moving the Model One radio away from interfering devices or plugging it into a different outlet may help.
Placement
Place the unit on a flat, stable surface. Do not block the bottom bass port. Keep the Model One radio at least 5 inches away from computer monitors or televisions, as it is not video shielded. The radio can be positioned vertically or horizontally. Placing it in a bookcase, cabinet, or near walls/corners may affect bass response.
Cleaning
Do not use harsh cleansers or solvents. Unplug the unit before cleaning. Clean the face with a slightly damp, soft cloth. Painting or staining the wood cabinet will void the warranty.
Note on Wood Veneers: Tivoli Audio cabinets use real wood veneers. Natural wood variation means exact color/grain matches between models are not possible. Wood may darken over time due to sunlight exposure, which is normal. Dyed veneers may fade; this is not covered by warranty.
Limited Warranty
Tivoli Audio provides a one-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects in material and workmanship for the original owner, from the original date of purchase. This warranty is non-transferable.
The warranty covers normal, intended use but excludes malfunctions or damage resulting from:
- Improper or unreasonable use or installation
- Faulty ancillary equipment
- Modifications
- Unauthorized repair
- Shipping damage or loss
- Abuse, accidents
- Use on improper voltage/current
- Power surges, lightning, acts of God
- Excess moisture
- Normal wear and tear
- Commercial use
- Purchase from unauthorized dealers
Proof of purchase from an authorized dealer may be required for warranty service. Contact your dealer or Tivoli Audio for service or repair.
Returns: Products purchased directly from Tivoli Audio must have a Return Authorization (RA) number clearly marked on the package. Obtain an RA number by contacting Tivoli Audio customer service. Products returned without a valid RA number will be returned unopened.
Do not open or disassemble the product, as this will void the warranty. There are no user-serviceable parts inside. Tivoli Audio is not liable for costs incurred due to reception problems, static/noise elimination, loss of time, inconvenience, loss of use, or damage from improper use.
If the product is returned within the warranty term and is eligible, Tivoli Audio will repair or replace defective parts free of charge within a reasonable time.
This Limited Warranty grants specific legal rights. Other legal rights may also apply depending on location. Some regions may not allow exclusion or limitation of implied rights or their effect, in which case this warranty applies only to the extent permitted by law.
This warranty is in lieu of other warranties or conditions, except as provided by law. It does not affect legal rights provided by law or preclude remedies under law.
In states where liability limits are not precluded by statute, Tivoli Audio's maximum liability is the purchase price paid. In states where limitations are precluded, Tivoli Audio is liable only for direct damages for bodily injury and/or property arising from negligence.
Tivoli Audio is not liable for special, incidental, consequential, or indirect damages, unless prohibited by law. Limitations on exclusions or limitations of liability may not apply in all locations.
This Limited Warranty is void if the serial number label has been removed or defaced. For service outside the USA, contact your local distributor.
