⚠️ CAUTION: Do not keep the override keys inside the safe!

Introduction

Thank you for purchasing this CLARKE Digital Safe. Before attempting to operate the safe, it is essential that you read this manual thoroughly and carefully follow all instructions given. In doing so you can look forward to the safe giving you long and satisfactory service.

Guarantee

This CLARKE product is guaranteed against faulty manufacture for a period of 12 months from the date of purchase. Please keep your receipt as proof of purchase.

This guarantee is invalid if the product is found to have been abused or tampered with in any way, or not used for the purpose for which it was intended.

Faulty goods should be returned to their place of purchase; no product can be returned without prior permission. This guarantee does not affect your statutory rights.

Replacement Override Key

A small label is located on the front of each safe with a key number. The number will start with either the letter "J" or "G" followed by several digits. This number must be registered with Clarke International in the event you require a replacement key.

Please complete the registration form at the back of this manual and send it to the address stated with the form. If you fail to register the safe, Clarke International will not be able to provide you with a replacement key.

We recommend that in addition to sending the completed form, you remove the label from the safe and fix it to the space below. Please retain this document for future reference.

Before Use

Opening the Safe for the First Time

  1. Remove the small plastic cover (B) on the front panel.
  2. Insert the override key into the key hole and turn it counterclockwise. At the same time, turn the doorknob (A) clockwise to open the safe.
  3. Replace the small plastic cover (B) onto the front panel.

? NOTE: Never keep the override keys inside the safe itself.

Installing the Safe

The safe should be secured vertically to a wall, shelf, or to the floor using the expansion bolts (supplied).

  • There are holes (8 mm) on the rear and bottom of the safe for securing to a wall or the floor.

Installing the Batteries

The safe requires 4 x size "AA" (1.5V) batteries.

  1. Open the safe.
  2. Remove the battery cover plate on the back of the door and install the batteries.
  3. Ensure the batteries are fitted with the correct polarity.
  4. Use of alkaline batteries is recommended.

Programming the Code

  1. With the safe door open and the batteries installed.
  2. Press and release the red button on the rear of the lock housing. You will hear two beeps, and the yellow light will be on at the same time.
  3. Enter the code you want to use (3-8 digits) as a combination.
  4. Confirm within 15 seconds by pressing the letter "A" or "B". The safe will beep twice, and the yellow light will go off, indicating your personal code is now set.
  5. Test the safe using the new combination immediately.

Using Your Safe

To Open the Safe

  1. Enter your personal code followed by the letter "A" or "B". You will hear a beep, and the green light on the front of the safe will light up.
  2. Turn the doorknob in a clockwise direction to open the door within 5 seconds.
  • If an incorrect combination is used 3 times consecutively, you must wait for 20 seconds before trying again.
  • If the incorrect combination is selected a further 3 times, you must wait approximately 5 minutes before trying again.

Battery Replacement Warning

If the batteries are low, the red light (in the middle of the number panel) will illuminate.

This document declares that the product complies with relevant EU directives (Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive, Restriction of Hazardous Substances) and UK legislation (Electromagnetic Compatibility Regulations 2016, Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations 2012).

Applied standards include EN 61000-6-3:2007+A1:2011, EN 61000-6-1:2009, BS EN 61000-6-3:2007+A1:2011, and BS EN 61000-6-1:2009.

The CE mark was first applied in 2009, and the product was placed on the market in 2009.

Note on Registration Form: The registration form requires identification of the key number before the safe is installed. Failure to register may prevent the provision of a replacement key. Fields include Model Number, Name, Company, Address, Contact details, Purchase Details, and Key Number.
