The diagram shows a 'FRONT' view and a 'BACK' view of the adapter, illustrating how it attaches to an eyepiece and holds a phone.
Instructions for Use
- Before attaching the adapter, look through your optical instrument (telescope, spotting scope, binocular, etc.) and ensure the view is in sharp focus.
- Open the eyepiece clamp (B) by loosening the eyepiece clamp knob (A) located at the top of the clamp.
- Place the eyepiece clamp (B) over the eyepiece of your optical instrument. Tighten the eyepiece clamp knob (A) to secure the clamp firmly against the eyepiece.
Note: Mount the clamp on a section of the eyepiece barrel that does not rotate freely, such as an eye relief adjuster.
- Loosen the holder clamp knob (D) until the holder clamp (C) opens wide enough to accommodate the width of your smartphone. Once your phone is in place, tighten the holder clamp knob (D) until the phone is securely held.
Note: This adapter is compatible with most phone cases, but the case surface MUST be flat to fit correctly. Grips, stands, rings, or raised surfaces on the case may impede phone placement. Folio-style phone cases must be removed.
- Launch the camera application on your smartphone. Loosen the holder alignment knob (E) and adjust the position of your phone's camera so that it aligns with the eyepiece of your optical instrument.
- Once the camera is positioned over the eyepiece and your camera is capturing the view through the eyepiece, carefully tighten the holder alignment knob (E) to secure your phone in position.
- If necessary, adjust the focus on your optical instrument again to achieve the sharpest possible view.
- You are now ready to capture images and videos using your smartphone camera!
