Garmin Fenix 3 HR Battery Replacement
How to replace a Garmin Fenix 3 HR battery.

This guide will give you step-by-step instructions on how to quickly swap out that old battery for a new one.
Tools:
- T5 Torx Screwdriver
- Tweezers
- Spudger
- iFixit Opening Tools

Step 1 - Battery

Remove the five 7mm screws with an H1.3 hex screwdriver.
Step 2
A series of images show the process of opening the watch. The first image shows a plastic opening tool being inserted into the seam of the watch. The second image shows the watch face being pried open, revealing internal components and a loose metal piece at the top, identified as the GPS antenna. The third image shows the watch opened further.
Use a plastic opening tool to remove the face of the device to expose the inner components.
There is one metal piece at the top of the face that is loose. This is the GPS antenna which will need to be removed as well.
Be careful with the ribbon that connects the motherboard to the display.
Step 3

Proceed to disconnect the ribbon from the motherboard using tweezers.
Step 4

Using a T5 screwdriver, remove the two 5mm screws.
The motherboard should now move freely.
Step 5

Another ribbon is attached to the top of the motherboard. Disconnect this ribbon.
Step 6

Disconnect wires connecting battery to motherboard.
Step 7
An image shows a hand using a nylon spudger to gently pry the battery, which is glued to the motherboard.
The battery is glued to the motherboard and will need pried off using the nylon spudger.
The battery is a Rechargeable Li-ion Battery (Model: FLPB342735-P1) with a rating of 3.7V, 290mAh, 1.08Wh. It has a red wire for positive and a black wire for negative. The battery was made in China and assembled on 06/12/16. Warnings are present regarding risk of explosion if replaced by an incorrect type, and not to put into fire, short-circuit, mutilate, crush, or disassemble the battery. It must be recycled or disposed of properly.
Step 8

Now attach the new battery with adhesive and reassemble.
To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
