Dimensions and Installation Information
Adequate clearances are required between the range and adjacent combustible surfaces for safe operation.
- General Clearance: Allow 30 inches (76.2 cm) minimum clearance between burners and the bottom of unprotected wood or metal cabinets.
- Protected Cabinet Clearance: If the cabinet bottom is protected by 1/4" (6.4 mm) thick flame-retardant millboard, or equivalent metal sheeting (No. 28 MSG sheet metal, .015" [.38 mm] thick stainless steel, .025" [0.64 mm] aluminum, or .020" [0.5 mm] copper), a 24" (61 cm) minimum clearance is permitted.
- Island Installation: Maintain 2-1/2" minimum clearance from the cutout to the back edge of the countertop and 3" minimum clearance from the cutout to the side edges of the countertop.
- Adjacent Cabinets: Cabinets installed adjacent to slide-in ranges must have an adhesion specification of at least 194°F (90°C) temperature rating.
- Door Handle: The door handle protrudes 3 inches from the door face. Ensure adjacent cabinets and drawers on 45° and 90° walls are positioned to avoid interference with the handle.
- Rear Trim: For all installations, attach the required rear trim to the back of the range using the 4 provided screws.

Installation Diagram Description
The installation diagram illustrates critical clearances and dimensions for the GE GGS600AV range:
- Overall Width: 30 inches.
- Height: Ranges from 36 inches to 36-1/2 inches.
- Depth: Approximately 48-1/2 inches from the rear wall to the front of the door glass.
- Cabinet Clearance Above: A minimum of 18 inches is required to cabinets above the cooktop.
- Cabinet Clearance Below: 0 inches minimum to cabinets below the cooktop.
- Side Wall Clearance: A minimum of 6 inches is required on both the left and right sides to the nearest side wall.
- Cooktop Width: The cooktop itself measures 30 inches.
- Handle Clearance: The door handle extends 3 inches from the door face.
- Countertop Edge Clearance (Island): 2-1/2 inches to the back edge and 3 inches to the side edges.
- Gas and Electrical Supply: Placement indicated on the diagram.
