Getting Started

Congratulations on purchasing your new VTech product. Please read the Important Safety Instructions before use. This manual provides all necessary feature operations and troubleshooting for your new VTech product.

What's in the Box

Install Batteries for Temporary Use

For normal use, it is recommended to power the parent unit using the power adapter. For portability, install the provided rechargeable batteries. Use only the provided rechargeable batteries (1.2V AAA 400mAh Ni-MH). Do not mix old and new batteries, or different types of batteries (alkaline, standard, rechargeable). Ensure correct polarity when inserting batteries. The parent unit turns on when batteries are installed. Replace batteries when the low battery light flashes or the unit beeps twice every 10 minutes.

  1. Press down on the battery compartment cover to slide it out.
  2. Insert the rechargeable batteries into the battery compartment, observing polarity (+ and -).
  3. Slide the battery compartment cover back into place until it clicks.

Replace Battery

To replace batteries, slide open the battery compartment cover, remove old batteries, and install new ones following the steps above.

Connect the Baby Monitor

Use only the supplied power adapters. Ensure adapters are oriented correctly and cords are out of reach of children. Both the baby unit and parent unit turn on when connected to power.

Notes:

Operation

Charge the Parent Unit Battery

The parent unit powers on automatically when connected and its battery is installed for the first time or after a power outage. The battery is fully charged after 16 hours of continuous charging. Charging time is shorter if the parent unit is turned off. Standby time varies with volume, usage, and battery age.

Before Use

Note: This baby monitor is an aid and not a substitute for proper adult supervision.

Test Your Baby Monitor

Test the monitor before initial use and regularly thereafter.

Caution: For hearing protection, keep the parent unit more than 6.5 feet (2 metres) away from the baby unit. If you hear high-pitched noise, move the parent unit further away or press the [VOLUME DOWN button] to lower or mute the noise.

  1. Ensure both baby unit and parent unit are on.
  2. Speak towards the baby unit's microphone. You should hear the sound on the parent unit and see the visual sound indicators light up.

Note: If the POWER/LINK LED light flashes, move the parent unit closer to the baby unit (maintain minimum 6.5 feet / 2 metres distance) and check power connections.

Tip: Increase parent unit speaker volume if sounds from the baby unit are not audible.

Positioning the Baby Monitor

Caution: Keep the baby unit out of the baby's reach. Never place or mount the baby unit inside a cot or playpen.

  1. Place the baby unit more than 3 feet (1 metre) away from your baby.
  2. Place the parent unit more than 6.5 feet (2 metres) away from the baby unit.

Caution: If you experience high-pitched screeching noise, ensure units are more than 6.5 feet (2 metres) apart or turn down the parent unit's volume.

Operating Range

The operating range is up to 1,500 feet (450 metres) outdoors or 160 feet (50 metres) indoors. Actual range depends on environmental conditions and obstructions like walls.
