Getting to Know Your TV
Front Panel
The front panel features a remote sensor and a power indicator. Aim the remote directly at the sensor when using it. The power indicator flashes on when the TV turns on and then goes out after several seconds. To keep the power indicator on, refer to the "Turning the Power Indicator On or Off" section on page 23.
Rear Panel
The rear panel contains various ports and controls:
- Power: Press to turn on the TV. Press and hold to turn the TV off.
- Volume: Press the VOL buttons to increase or decrease the TV volume level.
- Input: Press the INPUT button to access the input menu.
Ports:
- HDMI: Connect an HDMI device.
- Composite: Connect a composite video source.
- Audio Out: Connect to an RCA device, such as a soundbar.
- Coaxial: Connect to a coaxial cable from a cable, satellite, or antenna.
- USB: Connect a USB thumb drive to play photos, music, or videos.
- Optical Audio Out: Connect to an optical/SPDIF audio device, such as a home audio receiver.
- Ethernet: Connect an Ethernet cable to a modem/router.

Using the On-Screen Menu
Navigating the On-Screen Menu
Use the remote control's navigation buttons (Up, Down, Left, Right) to highlight menu options and the OK button to select them.
Changing the Input Source
Press the INPUT button on the remote to cycle through available input sources.
Adjusting the Picture Settings
Access picture settings via the Menu button. Options include Color Temperature, Picture Aspect Ratio, and Advanced Picture Settings.
Adjusting the Color Temperature
Adjust the color temperature to suit your viewing preference.
Changing the Picture Aspect Ratio
To change the screen aspect ratio, navigate to Menu > Picture > Picture Aspect. Available modes include Normal, Panoramic, Wide, Zoom, and Stretch. Note that aspect ratio settings may vary by input source and may not be available for Ultra HD or HDR content.
Adjusting Advanced Picture Settings
Access advanced picture settings via Menu > Picture > Advanced Picture. These settings allow fine-tuning of image quality, including:
- Black Detail: Adjusts picture brightness for large bright areas.
- Super Resolution: Enhances dim or blurred pictures for sharper images.
- Edge Enhancement: Improves edge smoothness.
- Local Contrast: Adjusts picture contrast locally.
- Backlight Control: Dynamically adjusts backlight for improved contrast.
- Reduce Noise: Options for Signal Noise, Block Noise, and Contour Smoothing to reduce picture noise.
- V-Gaming Engine™: Features like Game Low Latency and Game HDR for optimized gaming.

Important Safety Instructions
Your TV is designed for defined limits. Misuse can cause electric shock or fire. Observe these instructions for installation, use, and maintenance:
- Switch off power before connecting other components to reduce shock risk.
- Read and keep these instructions.
- Heed all warnings and follow all instructions.
- Do not use near water. Clean only with a dry cloth.
- Do not block ventilation openings. Install according to manufacturer instructions.
- Do not install near heat sources.
- Do not defeat the purpose of polarized or grounding-type plugs. Consult an electrician for outlet replacement if needed.
- Protect the power cord from damage.
- Use only manufacturer-specified attachments/accessories.
- Use only with recommended carts, stands, tripods, brackets, or tables. Use caution when moving equipment on carts to prevent tip-over injuries.
- Unplug the power cord before cleaning.
- Refer servicing to qualified personnel. Servicing is required for damaged cords, liquid spills, objects falling into the apparatus, exposure to rain/moisture, abnormal operation, or drops.
- Unplug during lightning storms or when unused for long periods.
- Allow TV to acclimate to temperature changes before turning on to prevent damage.
- Maintain at least three feet distance from heat sources. Do not install near smoke.
- Ensure ventilation openings are not blocked to prevent overheating. Do not place in cabinets without proper ventilation.
- Never insert objects into slots or openings. Do not place objects on top of the TV.
- Operate only from the indicated power source type.
- Do not apply pressure or throw objects at the TV.
- Replace power cord if using a different voltage.
- To disconnect power completely, unplug the power cord.
- The lightning flash symbol alerts to dangerous voltage within the TV.
⚠️ WARNING: Do not overload power strips and extension cords. Overloading can cause fire or electric shock.
The wall socket should be near and easily accessible.
Only use the specified voltage; other voltages may cause fire or electric shock.
Do not touch the power cord during lightning; avoid handling it during electrical storms.
Unplug during lightning storms or long periods of non-use to protect against power surges.
Do not attempt self-repair. Opening the back cover can expose you to high voltages. Contact a dealer for servicing by qualified personnel.
⚠️ WARNING: Keep TV away from moisture. Do not expose to rain or moisture. If water penetrates, unplug and contact dealer to prevent fire or electric shock.
Do not use if any abnormality occurs (smoke, odor). Unplug and contact dealer immediately.
Avoid using dropped or damaged appliances. If housing is damaged, unplug and contact dealer for repair.
Do not install in areas with heavy dust or high humidity.
Follow instructions for moving the TV; unplug cords before moving.
To prevent injury, securely attach the apparatus to the floor/wall per installation instructions.
Insert batteries correctly. Incorrect polarity can cause leaks or damage.
Do not expose batteries to excessive heat.
When unplugging, grab the plug head, not the cord.
To reduce electric shock risk, do not touch connectors with wet hands.
This apparatus shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing; no liquid-filled objects should be placed on it.
The mains plug is the disconnect device and must remain operable.
Contact dealer if:
- Power cord fails or frays.
- Liquid sprays or objects drop into the TV.
- TV is exposed to rain or moisture.
- TV is dropped or damaged.
- Performance changes substantially.
CAUTION: Servicing instructions are for qualified personnel only. Do not perform servicing beyond operating instructions unless qualified.

- ALWAYS use manufacturer-recommended cabinets, stands, or mounting methods.

- NEVER place the TV in an unstable location.

The American Academy of Pediatrics discourages television viewing for children younger than two years of age.

Television Antenna Connection Protection
For protection against voltage surges and static charges, ensure that any outside antenna or cable system connected to the TV is electrically grounded. Article 810 of the National Electrical Code (NEC) provides information on proper grounding.
Lightning Protection
For added protection during lightning storms or when unattended, unplug the TV from the wall outlet and disconnect the antenna or cable system.
Power Lines
Do not locate the antenna near overhead light or power circuits. The screen of the coaxial cable should be connected to earth in the building installation.
Installation of CATV
Cable distribution systems must be grounded (earthed) in accordance with ANSI/NFPA 70 (NEC), Section 820.93.
Installation of Antenna
Cable distribution systems for antennas and dishes must be grounded (earthed) in accordance with ANSI/NFPA 70 (NEC), Section 810.21.

Using the Remote
The remote control allows you to operate your TV. Key buttons include:
- Input: Change the currently displayed input.
- App Launcher: Quickly launch a pictured app.
- Voice: Push and hold to make a voice command.
- WatchFree™: Access WatchFree channels (not available in Canada).
- Navigation Buttons (Left/Right, Up/Down): Navigate on-screen menus.
- Back: Go to the previous on-screen menu.
- Volume Up/Down: Increase or decrease audio loudness.
- Power: Turn the television on or off.
- Menu: Display the settings menu.
- OK/Play/Pause: Select highlighted options and play or pause content.
- SmartCast Home™ Button: Launch or return to the SmartCast Home screen.
- Closed Caption: Enable or disable closed captions. Long press to open the Accessibility menu.
- Mute: Turn the audio on or off.
Replacing the Batteries
1. Push and slide the battery cover down, then lift it to access the compartment.
2. Insert two batteries, ensuring the (+) and (-) symbols match those inside the compartment.
3. Replace the battery cover and slide to close.
Note on battery disposal: Batteries cannot be thrown away with household waste. Dispose of them according to local laws and regulations. Visit vizio.com/environment for more information.
⚠️ WARNING: Keep remote control batteries away from children. They can cause choking, fire, or chemical burns if mishandled. Do not dispose of batteries in fire. Replace only with the correct type.
? TIP: VIZIO recommends replacing batteries with two new Duracell 'AAA' alkaline batteries.
Picture Settings
Changing the Picture Aspect Ratio
Navigate to Menu > Picture > Picture Aspect to change the screen aspect ratio. Options include:
- Normal (default): No change to aspect ratio.
- Panoramic*: Stretches 4:3 images to fill a 16:9 screen with an algorithm to minimize center stretching.
- Wide: Stretches 4:3 aspect ratio to fill 16:9 screen. Adds black bars to top/bottom for 16:9 images.
- Zoom: Expands image horizontally and vertically by 14%.
- Stretch*: Stretches 4:3 images with black bars left/right to fill the screen.
Some programs may have black bars to maintain original shape (e.g., widescreen movies, older TV programs).
? TIP: Aspect ratio cannot be changed for Ultra HD or HDR content. *Panoramic and Stretch modes may only be available for standard definition (480i/480p) or high definition (720p/1080i/1080p) content, respectively.
Adjusting Advanced Picture Settings
Navigate to Menu > Picture > Advanced Picture to fine-tune image quality:
- Black Detail: Adjusts average brightness for large bright areas.
- Super Resolution: Enhances dim/blurred pictures for sharpness.
- Edge Enhancement: Improves edge smoothness.
- Local Contrast: Adjusts picture contrast locally.

- Block Noise: Reduces digital compression artifacts like "blocking" and noise on edges; High setting may reduce sharpness.
- Contour Smoothing: Removes visible contour noise without losing detail.
- V-Gaming Engine™:
- Game Low Latency: Reduces video delay during gaming.
- Game HDR: Optimizes picture quality for HDR games.
- Film Mode: Optimizes picture for films (On/Off).
- Gamma: Sets Gamma curve shape (lower for bright rooms, higher for dark).
- Color Calibration: Calibrates colors using HSB, gain, offset, and white balance.
Playing USB Media
The USB Media Player allows playback of music, video, and photos from a USB flash drive.
Preparing Your USB Drive to Play USB Media
- Format the USB flash drive as FAT32.
- Ensure files have supported extensions (e.g., .mp3, .jpg).
- The player is not designed for external hard drives, MP3 players, cameras, or smartphones.
Displaying USB Media
- Connect the USB flash drive to the TV's USB port.
- The TV will recognize the USB. Use the remote's navigation keys to select content.
- Alternatively, select USB from the bottom streaming icons on the SmartCast Home™ page.
Removing the USB Drive from the TV
- Turn the TV off.
- Disconnect the USB flash drive from the USB port.
⚠️ WARNING: Do not remove the USB drive while the TV is on, as this may damage the drive.
? TIP: To display photos in Fullscreen, select the photo, press OK, highlight Fullscreen, and press OK.

Non-commercial use: One (1) year from the date of original purchase.
Commercial use: Ninety (90) days from the date of original purchase.
What This Warranty Covers
VIZIO warrants the product against defects in materials and workmanship when used normally, per user guides. It applies to the original purchaser of a new product bought from an authorized retailer in the U.S. or Canada.

Your Obligations Before Service
Obtain pre-authorization. You may need to provide proof of purchase. Ship the product in original or equivalent packaging. VIZIO Technical Support will provide packing and shipping instructions. User data and downloaded applications will be deleted during service; you are responsible for restoring them. VIZIO recommends clearing personal information before service.
VIZIO's Responsibilities
VIZIO will, at its option, repair, replace, or refund the purchase price for covered products. Parts and labor are warranted for the remainder of the original warranty or 90 days from service, whichever is longer.
Types of Service
TVs 32 inches or larger typically receive in-home service. In-home service requires easy access and does not include de-installation/re-installation. Other service options are available if in-home service is not possible. Other VIZIO products must be sent to a VIZIO service center; VIZIO covers return shipping.
What This Warranty Does Not Cover
This warranty does not cover: cosmetic damage, normal wear and tear, improper operation, power supply issues, signal issues, shipping damage, acts of God, customer misuse/modifications, unauthorized repairs, products with removed/unreadable serial numbers, products requiring routine maintenance, or products sold "AS IS", "CLEARANCE", "FACTORY RECERTIFIED", or by non-authorized resellers.
What to Do If You Are Not Satisfied With Service
Attempt to resolve the issue informally with VIZIO. If unresolved and you are a U.S. resident, claims must be submitted to binding arbitration, unless an exception applies. Arbitration means your claim is heard by a neutral arbitrator, not a judge or jury.
Binding Arbitration Agreement; Class Action Waiver (U.S. Residents Only)
Any controversy or claim relating to your VIZIO product or this warranty will be settled by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA). Visit www.adr.org or call 800-778-7879 for AAA rules. The Federal Arbitration Act applies. Filing fees are shared; VIZIO covers additional administrative fees. VIZIO waives its right to recover attorneys' fees. Prevailing parties may recover attorneys' fees as determined by the arbitrator. Disputes are governed by the laws of your state of residence. Arbitration will take place in Irvine, California, or your county of residence. Arbitrators cannot award punitive or consequential damages beyond actual damages. Judgment on the award may be entered in any court. Arbitration details are confidential unless agreed otherwise.
Individual Basis: Disputes will be conducted solely on an individual basis. No arbitration or proceeding will be joined, consolidated, or combined with another without prior written consent.
Exceptions to Binding Arbitration Agreement and Class Action Waiver
To opt out, notify VIZIO in writing within 60 days of purchase, mailed to VIZIO at 39 Tesla, Irvine, CA 92618, Attn: Legal Department, including your name, address, purchase date, and a clear statement of opt-out. Claims can also be pursued in small claims court.
Exclusions and Limitations
No express warranties beyond those stated. Implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose are limited to the warranty period. VIZIO is not responsible for loss of use, data, commercial loss, lost revenue, or consequential damages, even if advised of the possibility. Some states/provinces may not allow these limitations.
How the Law Applies
This warranty grants specific legal rights that may vary by state/province.
General
No VIZIO employee or agent may modify this warranty. If any term is unenforceable, it will be severed, and other terms remain effective. This warranty applies to the maximum extent permitted by law.
