For wiring, follow the National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 70 edition. Consult a qualified installer or local codes for make-up air requirements. This hood is for residential use only and not for installation over commercial products. Ensure all power is turned off at the main breaker or fuse box before making connections. To avoid risk of fire, electric shock, or injury, turn off electricity to the hood before cleaning or servicing.

Handling and Unpacking
Handling Precautions: Remove all watches, belt buckles, jewelry, rings, and clothing with metal buttons or snaps to prevent damage. Place the hood on a clean, non-abrasive blanket during installation. Inspect the hood for any damage or imperfections before installation. If damage is found, recarton the hood and contact the dealer immediately; do not install a damaged hood. It is recommended to use rubber gloves to prevent scratches and ensure a firm grip. Locate filters, which are packed separately. Do not remove the hood from its original carton until ready for installation.
Unpacking Precautions: Check the package for damage. If visible damage is present, mark the bill of lading to note potential concealed damage. Ensure the container is upright; an overturned container can cause major damage. If damage is discovered, do not refuse delivery; contact the dealer and file freight claims. Save all packaging material. Shipping damage claims are resolved between the customer, shipping carrier, and dealer. The manufacturer may assist but does not relieve customer responsibility. Move the container as close to the installation location as possible to minimize handling. Do not discard packaging until filters are located. Inspect all molded packaging before discarding.
Important Note: Any damage must be reported before installing the hood. Once installed, no returns will be accepted. Ensure blowers are free from obstructions and test run them before finalizing installation. For technical information or to use non-BlueStar blower systems, contact BlueStar Service at 800-449-8691.

Installation Guides
Pro Line Series Installation
Dimensions: Diagrams show overall dimensions and specific measurements for electrical connection location and blower bracket cut-outs. Models vary in width (e.g., 30" to 66").
Site Preparation: Mount the hood at a height of 30" to 36" above the cooking surface. If mounted higher than 36", the hood should be at least 6" wider than the cooking appliance. Draw a level line for the bottom of the hood and a center line on the wall. Ensure mounting screws are driven into framing, not just drywall. Install a 115 Volt, 15 Amp electrical lead. Verify ducting location.
Correct Height: The bottom of the hood should be 30"-36" above the countertop, typically resulting in 66"-72" from the floor. If mounted higher than 72" from the floor, it must be 6" wider than the range. Pro Line hoods can duct from the top or rear.
Duct Information: A table lists models, blower CFM, duct size (6" or 10"), and available transitions (e.g., TR6X15/10). BS-PLIB600 is sized for a 6" duct; a TRC8/6 transition is available for 8" ducting. Proper duct installation is crucial for performance. Use only metal ductwork and avoid flexible ductwork. Consult local codes for make-up air requirements. L-brackets for internal blowers can be mounted for top or rear discharge. BS-PLIB1200 blowers require a 10" transition.
Blower Installation: Instructions detail removing the shipping bracket and installing the blower bracket. Wiring involves connecting fan wires and the 115 Volt supply wire to the terminal block according to specific terminal numbers for Fan 1 and Fan 2.
Duct Cover Installation: Instructions describe removing pop rivets from the hood, installing the duct cover to the correct height (leaving 12" for the cover), aligning small holes, and fastening the cover from inside the canopy using sheet metal screws.
Pyramid Style Series Installation
Dimensions: Diagrams provide front, side, and top views with detailed measurements for various Pyramid Style hood models, including chimney dimensions.
Site Preparation: Similar to Pro Line, mount at 30"-36" above the countertop. Ensure proper duct alignment and hood placement. Secure mounting screws into framing. Install a 115 Volt, 15 Amp electrical lead. Verify ducting location.
Correct Height: The bottom of the hood should be 30"-36" above the countertop (66"-72" from the floor). If mounted higher than 72" from the floor, it must be 6" wider than the range. Pyramid Style (PC) models are top duct only but can be ducted to the rear with a 90-degree elbow (not included).
Duct Information: A table lists models, blower CFM, and duct size (6" or 10"). BS-PCIB600 is sized for a 6" duct; a TRC8/6 transition is available for 8" ducting. Proper duct installation is critical.
Blower Installation: Instructions detail removing the shipping bracket and installing the blower bracket, followed by wiring connections similar to the Pro Line series.
Flue Installation: Measure from the canopy top to the ceiling, subtracting 1/8" for clearance. Place the duct cover top inside the base and lower to the desired height. Fasten with retaining screws. Slide the duct cover into place and secure with sheet metal screws from inside the canopy. For ceilings above 9', use optional custom flues.
Low Profile Series Installation
Dimensions: Diagrams show top, front, side, and back views with electrical connection locations for top and rear exhaust. Models are available in 24", 30", and 36" widths.
Site Preparation: Similar to other series, mount at 30"-36" above the countertop. Ensure proper duct alignment and hood placement. Secure mounting screws into framing. Install a 115 Volt, 15 Amp electrical lead. Verify ducting location.
Correct Height: The bottom of the hood should be 30"-36" above the countertop (66"-72" from the floor). Low Profile hoods can duct from the top or rear.
Duct Information and Wiring: A TRC8/6 transition is available to increase duct size to 8". Proper duct installation is essential. The wiring diagram shows connections to a terminal block for the 115 Volt supply and fan wires.
Re-Circulating Hood Series Installation
Dimensions: Diagrams show top, front, side, and back views with electrical connection locations for top and rear exhaust. Models are available in 24", 30", and 36" widths.
Site Preparation: Similar to other series, mount at 30"-36" above the countertop. Ensure proper duct alignment and hood placement. Secure mounting screws into framing. Install a 115 Volt, 15 Amp electrical lead. Verify ducting location.
Correct Height and Wiring: The bottom of the hood should be 30"-36" above the countertop (66"-72" from the floor). The wiring diagram illustrates connections to a terminal block for the 115 Volt supply and fan wires.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Baffle Filters: Periodically examine filters to ensure they are clean. Filters are dishwasher safe or can be cleaned in hot, soapy water. Easy periodic cleaning ensures optimum filter performance. Do not use caustic or abrasive cleaners, as they may damage the finish. Do not disassemble baffle filters, as this will void the warranty.
Canopy: Do not use abrasive cleaners, steel wool pads, abrasive cloths, or cleaners with chlorides. Do not allow grease to accumulate. For best results, wipe the canopy with a soft cloth and hot, soapy water. For stainless steel and powder-coated metals, clean with soap and water only. Avoid abrasive or aggressive chemicals.
Replacing Light Bulbs: Remove the glass cover, pull out the halogen bulb. Replace with a Halogen G9 bulb, 120V, 25W. Note: Do not touch halogen bulbs with bare hands. Replace the glass cover.
