Hook-Up
The MONITOR1 can be connected in two primary ways:
1. Connecting to a Mixer:
Connect the MONITOR1 between a mixer and a pair of monitor speakers using XLR or balanced 1/4" TRS cables.
2. Connecting to an Audio Interface:
Connect the MONITOR1 between an audio interface and a pair of monitor speakers. This setup typically involves a laptop connected to the audio interface via USB, and the interface connected to the MONITOR1, which then connects to the speakers.
Diagram Description: The diagrams illustrate these connections, showing the MONITOR1 unit with its inputs and outputs connected to audio sources (mixer/audio interface) and outputs (studio monitors). Cables include XLR, balanced 1/4" TRS, and USB.
Controls
Front Panel:
- 1. MONO Button: Sums the left and right inputs, sending a mono signal to all outputs.
- 2. LEVEL Knob: Adjusts the output level sent to the speakers. For optimal performance and minimal noise, set the output level from your source audio fairly high.
- 3. MUTE Button: Mutes all outputs.
Rear Panel Connections:
- 4. INPUT Section: Accepts balanced or unbalanced 1/4" TRS or XLR cables, or a single 1/8" stereo cable. Note: Do not use the combo jacks and the 1/8" jack simultaneously.
- 5. OUTPUT Section: Sends audio to your listening device via XLR cables or a single 1/8" stereo cable. Note: Do not use the XLR outputs and 1/8" output simultaneously.
