1. Accessories and Cables

Input Cables (Sold Separately): You will need one or more of these cables to connect your TV to your antenna or cable outlet and your peripheral devices (Blu-ray players, DVD players, etc.). Common cables include Audio, HDMI, HDMI-DVI, Component, Composite (AV), and Coaxial (RF).
Cable Plugs & Ports/Jacks Illustration: Visuals show common plugs and jacks for HDMI, USB, and Optical connections. It is important to ensure correct orientation before plugging in cables to avoid damage.
2. Important Safety Instructions
WARNING: Please read the safety instructions before installing and using the product.
- CAUTION: RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK DO NOT OPEN. Refer all servicing to qualified personnel.
- The symbol ? indicates high voltage is present inside.
- The symbol ? indicates important operation and maintenance literature is included.
- Ensure proper ventilation by maintaining at least 4 inches (approx. 10 cm) between the TV and other objects. Do not place the apparatus in confined spaces, near heat sources, or where it can be exposed to water.
- Dispose of batteries properly according to local environmental regulations.
- Do not overload outlets or extension cords.
- Place power cords to avoid being walked on or pinched.
- Unplug the apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for extended periods to prevent damage from surges.
- Ensure the DC adaptor voltage matches the local electrical supply.
- Never insert metallic objects into open parts of the apparatus.
- Do not touch the inside of the apparatus; only qualified technicians should open it.
- Plug the power cord in firmly and unplug by pulling the plug, not the cord. Do not touch the power cord with wet hands.
- If the apparatus operates abnormally (unusual sounds or smells), unplug it immediately and contact an authorized dealer.
- Unplug the TV if it will be unused or if leaving the house for an extended period, especially if children or elderly individuals will be unattended.
- Accumulated dust can cause electric shock or fire. Contact an authorized service center for installation in locations with heavy dust, extreme temperatures, high humidity, or chemical substances.
- Use only a properly grounded plug and wall outlet.
- Ensure the wall outlet and power plug are readily accessible for complete power disconnection.
- Do not allow children to hang onto the product. Store accessories out of reach of children.
- Do not install the product in unstable locations.
- Do not drop or apply shock to the product. If damaged, unplug and contact a service center.
- To clean, unplug the power cord and wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use chemicals that can damage the appearance or printing.
- Do not expose the apparatus to dripping or splashing.
- Do not dispose of batteries in fire, short-circuit, disassemble, or overheat them. Replacing batteries with the wrong type may cause explosion. Replace only with the same or equivalent type.
- WARNING: Keep candles or other open flames away from the product to prevent fire spread.
- This product contains chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer and reproductive toxicity.
3. Getting Started
Provide Ventilation for Your TV: Maintain at least 4 inches (approx. 10 cm) clearance around the TV for proper ventilation to prevent overheating. Use only Samsung-provided parts for stands or wall-mounts.
Installation with a stand or wall-mount: Visuals illustrate the required 4-inch clearance.
Installing Batteries into the Remote: Match battery polarity (+/-) to the symbols in the battery compartment. The remote control should be used within 23 feet (approx. 7 meters) of the TV. Bright light may affect performance.
4. Making Connections
Connect your TV to an antenna or cable, then connect peripherals. Finally, connect the power cord to the TV and the wall outlet.
- For best picture and audio quality, use an HDMI cable for digital devices.
- If connecting older HDMI devices, consult the manufacturer for compatibility or upgrades.
- Use only certified HDMI cables to avoid connection errors.
- PC/DVI AUDIO IN is not supported.
- For HDMI to DVI cable connections, use the HDMI IN 2 (DVI) jack. Audio is not supported for this connection.
- For set-top box connections via HDMI, the HDMI IN 1 (STB) port is recommended.
Connection Types:
- Using an HDMI Cable: Connects digital devices (up to 1080p).
- Using an Optical (Digital) Cable: Connects to a Digital Audio System.
- Using a Component Cable: Connects AV devices (up to 1080p).
- Using Audio/Video Cables: Connects to AV devices.
- Using an HDMI Cable or HDMI to DVI Cable (for PC): Connect to a PC. Use PC speakers for audio.
- Using a USB Drive: Connect a USB drive for media playback.
- Connecting to Antenna/Cable: Connect a VHF/UHF Antenna or Cable to the ANT IN jack.
TV Rear Panel Diagram: Shows various input/output ports including HDMI INPUT (1 & 2), COMPONENT/AV IN, DIGITAL AUDIO OUT (OPTICAL), USB, ANT IN, and DC 19V power input.
5. The Remote Control
Familiarize yourself with the remote control buttons:
- POWER: Turns the TV on or off.
- SOURCE: Displays and selects available video sources.
- VOL +/-: Adjusts the volume.
- CH +/-: Changes channels.
- MENU (m): Displays the main on-screen menu.
- TOOLS: Accesses additional options, including 'Edit Name' for input sources.
- ENTER (E) & Direction Buttons: Navigate menus and select options.
- RETURN (◄): Returns to the previous menu.
- EXIT: Exits the menu.
- MEDIA.P: Displays Media Play.
- GUIDE: Displays the channel list.
- P.SIZE: Choose the picture size.
- CC: Controls the caption decoder.
- Remote Control Light: Turns the remote backlight on/off.
Note: Button names may vary. Some buttons may not be available. The remote has Braille points for visually impaired users.
6. Configuring the Basic Settings with Plug & Play
When you turn the TV on for the first time, follow the on-screen prompts to configure basic settings. Ensure the TV is connected to an antenna or cable and plugged in before starting.
- If not using a cable or satellite box, connect the TV to an antenna or cable connection before powering on.
- Refer to '4. Making Connections' for power and antenna connection instructions.
7. Changing the Input Source
To switch between different connected devices (DVD player, cable box, etc.):
- Press the SOURCE button on the remote.
- Use the ▲/▼ buttons to select the desired input source (e.g., TV, AV, Component, HDMI1, HDMI2, DVI). Connected inputs are highlighted.
Edit Name Function: Associate device names with input sources for easier selection. Access via the TOOLS button when the Source List is displayed. Available names include VCR, DVD, Cable STB, PC, DVI PC, etc.
Note: Specific 'Edit Name' assignments are recommended when connecting PCs via HDMI or HDMI to DVI cables.
8. Accessing and Using the Main Menu
The Main menu allows control over various TV features like picture settings (size, brightness, contrast), sound, channel configuration, and energy use.
- Press the MENU (m) button on the remote to access the menu.
- Use ▲/▼ to navigate between main categories (Picture, Sound, Channel, etc.).
- Press ► or ENTER (E) to select a menu option or view its values.
- Press ENTER (E) again to select a value.
- Press RETURN (◄) to go back to a previous screen or selection.
9. Using the TV's Controller
The TV's Controller, located on the bottom right of the TV, allows basic control without the remote:
- Pressing the controller first displays the control menu.
- Pressing and holding the controller allows selection of functions.
- Functions controllable via the TV's Controller include: Power On/Off, Channel Change, Volume Adjustment, and Input Source Switching.
Note: The product color and shape may vary. Numbers cannot be input using the TV's controller.
10. Important Safety Information
Caution: Do not pull, push, or climb on the TV to prevent it from falling, which could cause serious injury or death. Always follow safety precautions provided in the Safety Flyer.

12. Warranty Information
SAMSUNG BRAND PRODUCTS LIMITED WARRANTY TO ORIGINAL PURCHASER
Samsung warrants its products against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship for a specified period. Warranty coverage varies by product type and size (e.g., LCD/LED TVs, Plasma Displays, 3D Glasses).
Warranty Period Examples:
- LCD/LED TV (42" and Larger, including 40" UHD): 1 Year Parts & Labor (Carry-In or In Home).
- LCD/LED TV (40" and Smaller): 1 Year Parts & Labor (Carry-In).
- Plasma Display: 1 Year Parts & Labor (Carry-In or In Home).
- 3D Glasses: 1 Year Parts & Labor (Carry-In or Pick up).
The warranty begins on the original date of purchase and is valid for products purchased and used in the United States. Proof of purchase (dated bill of sale) is required. Service will be performed by authorized Samsung service centers.
Exclusions: This warranty does not cover damage from shipment, delivery, installation, misuse, neglect, fire, water, lightning, unauthorized alterations, cosmetic damage, or use with non-Samsung parts or accessories. It also excludes reception problems, signal issues, and damage from incorrect electrical voltage. Burned-in images due to prolonged display of stationary content or improper format usage are not covered.
Limitations: Samsung is not liable for loss of revenue, profits, or consequential damages. Recovery is limited to the product's purchase price. Purchasers assume all risk for damage to property or injury to persons arising from the use or misuse of the product, unless directly caused by Samsung's negligence.
Unauthorized Resellers: This warranty is void if products are purchased from unauthorized resellers, except where prohibited by law. A list of authorized resellers is available at http://www.samsung.com/us/peaceofmind/authorized_resellers.html.
Television Format Viewing: To prevent uneven aging and burned-in images, vary programming and display full-screen moving images. Limit stationary graphics, images, dark bars, video game displays, and station logos to no more than 15% of weekly viewing time. Using picture sizing features to display formats as full screen is recommended. Uneven aging is not covered by the warranty.
