Product Description and Specifications (Produktbeschreibung und Spezifikationen)
Purpose of Use (Verwendungszweck)
This moisture meter is used to determine the moisture content in wood, packaging materials, and building materials. It operates on the principle that the electrical conductivity of a material changes with its moisture content. The conductivity is derived from the resistance measured by the moisture meter.
The device readings are displayed as a percentage (%) based on the dry mass of the measured material. The moisture content is calculated using the formula: Moisture Content (%) = (Water Mass in Material / Dry Mass of Material) x 100. Example: 1 kg of material containing 500 g of water has 100% moisture content.

Display Interface Description (Beschreibung der Anzeigeschnittstelle)
No Measurement Data (Keine Messdaten)
These display interfaces indicate that the device has not received any measurement data (no measurement was performed; the material was too thin, the measurement range was too small, etc.). Screens show "--.--%" for WALL, MASONRY, SOFT WOOD, HARD WOOD modes.
Measurement Data Too Low (Die Messdaten sind zu niedrig)
The screen displays "Lo" and blinks. These interfaces indicate that the measurement data received is very low (possibly due to the selected measurement mode not matching the material, the material being too dry, etc.). Screens show "Lo" blinking for WALL, MASONRY, SOFT WOOD, HARD WOOD modes.
Measurement Data Above Upper Limit (Die Messdaten liegen über der Obergrenze)
The measurement data reaches the maximum value and blinks. These display interfaces indicate that the measurement data is above the upper limit (possibly because the material is conductive or too wet, etc.). Screens show high percentages (e.g., 61.2%, 31.3%, 56.1%, 35.3%) with the "WET" indicator for PACKING, BUILDING, SOFT WOOD, HARD WOOD modes.
Operation (Operation)
-
Power On/Off (Ein-/Ausschalten)
Press the Power/Off button [⏻] to turn the device on or off. When turned on again, the last selected measurement mode is preset.
The device automatically turns off to conserve battery if not used for 5 minutes.
ON State: When powered on, all display elements are shown for approximately 1.5 seconds.
OFF State: Press the Power/Off button or the device turns off automatically after 5 minutes.
-
Self-test (Selbsttest)
After powering on, select the "PACKING" measurement mode. Insert the pins into the holes on the protective cap. Check the measurement value on the screen. If the value is within the range of 21.3% ~ 22.3%, you can proceed with using the device. Otherwise, calibration is required: Press and hold the "HOLD" button for approximately 5 seconds until "CAL" appears on the screen. Then, insert the pins into the holes on the protective cap. If calibration still does not function, contact customer service.
Diagrams show the self-test process and calibration screen.
-
Start Measurement (Messung starten)
For optimal results, the material characteristics must be selected before each measurement. This device offers 4 selectable material characteristics. Before a measurement, press the button for the corresponding material mode: PACKING [?], BUILDING [?], SOFT WOOD [?], HARD WOOD [?].
Wood (Holz)
Soft Wood: Woods with lower density.
Hard Wood: Woods with higher density.
Building (Building)
Building materials, such as cement, plaster, etc.
Packing (Packing)
Lightly absorbent packaging materials, such as cardboard, fabric bags, etc.
Diagrams illustrate the measurement process for Wood, Building, and Packing modes.

⚠️ The probe of this instrument is very sharp and should not be used as a toy for children to avoid injury. When not in use, please securely close the protective cap.
Data Hold (Daten halten)
To hold the current measurement, press the "HOLD" button when the measurement is stable.
Image shows the "HOLD" button being pressed on the meter.
Battery Charging (Batterieladung)
When the battery is low, serious errors in measurement data may occur. Charging is required if the device no longer turns on or the battery icon [?] indicates a low charge level. Please use a Type-C cable for charging.
Diagram shows the device connected via Type-C cable to a power adapter and wall socket.
Usage Notes (Anmeldehinweise)
⚠️ This moisture meter is a sensitive tool. Contact with the user's hand forms the basis for the device's calibration. Therefore, we recommend holding the device firmly during measurement.
Measurement Tips (Messung durchführen)
- Ensure there are no power lines (electrical, water, etc.) or metallic substrates at the measurement location. ❌
- Perform moisture measurements at least 5 cm away from cut edges.
- Always measure across the grain. Do not measure parallel to the grain or along the annual rings. ✔️ (Across grain) ❌ (Parallel to grain)
- For best results, press the pins deep into the material. However, never use excessive or sudden force, as this could damage the instrument. ❌ (Incorrect insertion/force) ✔️ (Correct deep insertion)
Diagrams illustrate correct and incorrect measurement techniques.
Diagrams show how surface moisture can affect readings, and that pins measuring through a wet outer layer into dry material can still provide a reading of the internal moisture.

Improper storage or transport can damage the device. Observe the following guidelines.
Transport
Use a suitable bag for transporting the device to protect it from external influences.
Storage
When the device is not in use, observe the following storage conditions:
