Diagram Description:
The first diagram illustrates a typical setup where four HDMI sources (e.g., AV Receiver, Apple TV, Xbox, Camera, HD Box, DVD) are connected to the matrix's inputs (HDMI IN1-IN4), and two displays are connected to the outputs (HDMI OUT A, HDMI OUT B). This configuration is suitable when all sources and displays support 4K resolution.
The second diagram shows a scenario with 4K HDMI sources and one 1080P display. It highlights the EDID DIP switch on the matrix, indicating that HDMI OUT A can be set to downscale 4K to 1080P. This setting is further detailed in the EDID SETTING section.
EDID Setting
DIP Switch Setting | Function | DIP Switch Setting | Function |
---|---|---|---|
[Switches 1-4 OFF] | Pass through - learning EDID from HDMI OUT B. | [Switches 1-4 ON] | Test Mode - Improve compatibility. |
[Switches 1-4 ON] | Set EDID: 4K@60Hz_4:2:0_5.1CH_3D_HDR | [Switches 1-4 ON] | Set EDID: 1080P@60Hz_2CH_3D_HDR |
[Switches 1-4 ON] | Set EDID: 4K@60Hz_4:4:4_5.1CH_3D_HDR |
Note: For other EDID setting options, please use the API commands as listed in the API Commands section.
Remote Control
The remote control can be used to power the matrix on/off and switch the HDMI source for each output.
Note:
- Please remove the insulation slice before use.
- Please make sure the remote is pointed directly at the IR receiver window.
Remote Diagram Description: The remote control features a 'Power ON/OFF' button. It also has numbered buttons (1, 2, 3, 4) for selecting the input source for 'HDMI OUTPUT 1' and 'HDMI OUTPUT 2' independently. Additional controls are labeled 'Circle select previous and next'.
Troubleshooting
- For 4K TVs, connect to HDMI Matrix OUT 2 (B) first. Once it displays correctly, connect the second display device to HDMI Matrix OUT 1 (A).
- When connecting both 4K and 1080p displays, connect the 1080p HDMI display to matrix OUT 1(A).
- When powering off TVs and the matrix, turn on the 4K TV connected to HDMI Matrix OUT 2 (B) first, especially when both 4K and 1080p TVs are in use.
- HDMI matrix OUT 1(A) can down-scale 4K to 1080p but does not support down-scaling 4K HDR Dolby Vision. It is not an upscaler.
- DE-embedded SPDIF Optical 5.1CH follows HDMI Matrix OUT 2 (B); no separate TV connection is needed for audio.
- Using the EDID DIP switch 'TEST MODE' can improve compatibility with HDMI sources and resolve HDCP issues.
- CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) is not supported.
- Editable EDID via DIP Switch allows for separate 4K 60Hz HDR video and 7.1ch audio settings, enabling TV playback of 4K HDR video and Soundbar playback of 7.1ch audio simultaneously.

Update Guide
Using the Micro-USB Port for Control and Upgrades:
The Micro-USB port on the front panel allows for matrix control and firmware upgrades. Connect a Micro-USB cable from the matrix's USB port to your Windows PC (Laptop/Desktop). The driver should install automatically. Please wait a moment for the connection.
Firmware Upgrade Process:
- Download the necessary tool from: https://www.easycoolav.com/art/tech-support-a0040.html
- Configure COM settings: Baud Rate=57600bps, Data=8bit, Parity=None, Stop=1bit. Double-click `UartAssist.exe` and set the correct parameters, then click 'Open'.
- Send the command `
` followed by Enter, then click the 'Send' button. - Upon sending the command, a message like `
` will appear. Click 'Close'. All LEDs on the matrix will turn off. - NOTE: Do not remove any connection while the matrix is in this update mode.
Using FlyMcu.exe for Update:
- Double-click `FlyMcu.exe`.
- Follow these steps:
- Search for the correct COM port.
- Select the baud rate: 57600 bps.
- Load the `.hex` file (e.g., `Ix2 EZ-MX42PRO-HAS update guide kit MH42HH-H22-018 V1.72(5BBE).hex`).
- Start the ISP (update) process.
Diagram Description: The update guide includes screenshots of the `UartAssist` software interface for initial setup, showing COM port selection and parameters. Additional screenshots depict the `FlyMcu` software, illustrating the process of selecting a COM port, baud rate (57600 bps), loading a firmware `.hex` file, and initiating the 'Start ISP' (update) process.
