This document provides instructions for the Kensington Slim NanoSaver® Combination Laptop Lock, including the Portable and Ultra Cable Lock models. It details how to secure your laptop and how to reset the combination lock.

How to Lock Your Laptop

Step 1: Secure the Cable
Loop the lock cable around a secure object, such as a desk leg or anchor point. [arrow] Ensure the cable is taut.

Step 2: Attach the Lock Head
Insert the lock head into the Kensington security slot on your laptop. [arrow]

Step 3: Set the Combination
Ensure the lock is in the unlocked position (default is 0000). Turn the combination dials to your desired 4-digit code. [arrow]

Step 4: Lock the Device
Turn the lock head 90 degrees to the locked position. [arrow] Then, rotate the combination dials to a random configuration to secure the lock. [arrow]

How to Reset Your Combination
Note: You must know the current combination to reset it. If you have forgotten the combination, a paperclip is required for the reset procedure.

Step 1: Unlock and Prepare
Ensure the lock is unlocked using the current 4-digit combination (default is 0000). [lock symbol ?] The dials should show 0000.

Step 2: Insert Paperclip
Locate the small reset hole on the lock mechanism. Insert a straightened paperclip into this hole. [paperclip] This action holds the reset mechanism in place.

Step 3: Hold Reset and Set New Combination
With the paperclip inserted, turn the combination dials to your new desired 4-digit code. [arrow]

Step 4: Release and Secure

Maximum Security Tip
For maximum security, always turn all dials to a random configuration after securing the lock to your laptop.
