Before Using This Watch
This watch uses a rechargeable cell charged by light. Expose the dial to direct sunlight regularly for charging. See page 9 for charging details.
Band Adjustment
Professional adjustment is recommended. Incorrect adjustment may lead to detachment or injury. Consult an authorized service center.
Protective Stickers
Remove all protective stickers from the case back, band, and clasp to prevent moisture ingress, skin irritation, or corrosion.
Component Identification

About Time Indication
The watch can display up to three times simultaneously:
- Home time: Indicated by the analog hands.
- Local time: Indicated on the LCD in WORLD TIME mode.
- UTC indication: Always shows Coordinated Universal Time. The hour hand completes a full rotation in 24 hours.
Checking the Power Reserve
The function hand indicates the power reserve level. If the watch is in CHRONOGRAPH mode, switch to another mode to view the power reserve. Power reserve is indicated in four levels (3, 2, 1, 0), with corresponding durations and meanings like "Power reserve is sufficient" or "Insufficient charge warning 1/2".
Changing the Mode
The watch has six modes: CALENDAR, WORLD TIME, CHRONOGRAPH, TIMER, ALARM, and SETTING. Modes are changed by pressing the middle right button (B) to invert the LCD, then using buttons A or C to select the desired mode. The mode automatically changes after 5 seconds if no button is pressed.
Turning on the Light for the LCD Indication
The LCD light can be activated in CALENDAR or WORLD TIME modes by pressing button A.
Switching the LCD Indication
In CALENDAR or WORLD TIME modes, press button C to cycle through different LCD displays.
Adjusting the Time and Calendar
Follow these steps to set the home time, which also synchronizes local time and UTC indication:
- Press button B.
- Select CALENDAR mode using buttons A/C.
- Press button B again.
- Press and hold button B for 2+ seconds to stop hands.
- Select an area using buttons A/C and confirm with B.
- Select summer/standard time using A/C and confirm with B.
- Set the second to 00 using A/C and confirm with B.
- Press button B to adjust minutes.
- Set minute, hour, year, month, and date using A/C and confirm with B. "SETTING COMPLETE" will appear.
Customizing Indication: Settings like calendar notation, day language, and 12/24-hour format can be adjusted in the SETTING mode.
World Time
The LCD can display a different time from the analog hands (local time).
Setting the Local Time
- Change to WORLD TIME mode.
- Press and hold button B for 2+ seconds to stop hands.
- Choose an area using A/C and confirm with B.
- Choose summer/standard time using A/C and confirm with B.
Interchanging Times Indicated
In CALENDAR or WORLD TIME mode, press buttons A and C simultaneously to swap home time and local time displays.
Using the Chronograph
Measures up to 24 hours in 0.01-second increments.
- Change to CHRONOGRAPH mode.
- Press button C to start/stop measurement.
- Press button A for split/lap times (up to 999).
- Press button A while stopped to reset.
- Measurement continues across mode changes.
Checking the Measurement Result
During measurement, press button C to stop. Press and hold button B for 2+ seconds to view the last 60 split/lap times in sets of three. Press B again to return to the measurement screen.
Using the Timer
Countdown timer up to 99 minutes 59 seconds, with a 5-second alarm sound.
- Change to TIMER mode.
- Press button C to start/stop countdown.
- Press button A while stopped to reset.
- Countdown continues across mode changes.
Setting Countdown Time
- Change to TIMER mode.
- Press and hold button B for 2+ seconds when timer is stopped.
- Set minutes and seconds using A/C, confirm with B. "SETTING COMPLETE" will appear.
Using Alarm
Two alarms can be set, sounding once or on specific days.
Checking Current Alarm Settings
Change to ALARM mode to view current settings, including area and repeat days.
Checking the Alarm Sound
In ALARM mode, press and hold button A to monitor Alarm 1 sound, or button C for Alarm 2 sound.
Setting Alarm
- Change to ALARM mode.
- Press and hold button B for 2+ seconds to make settings adjustable.
- Choose Alarm 1 or 2 using A/C, confirm with B.
- Activate/deactivate alarm (ON/OFF) using A/C, confirm with B.
- Set the time and area using A/C, confirm with B.
- Select days of the week for the alarm using A/C, confirm with B.
Adjusting Settings
Access the SETTING mode to adjust various watch parameters.
- LIGHT LEVEL: Check power generation status.
- HOME TIME: Set home time (refer to page 4).
- WORLD TIME: Select local time area (refer to page 5).
- CHRONO RESULT: View chronograph measurements.
- TIMER: Set countdown time (refer to page 6).
- ALARM: Adjust alarm settings (refer to page 7).
- HAND POSITION: Check and correct hand reference positions (refer to page 11).
- CHRONO MODE: Choose between split time or lap time measurement.
- DAY LANGUAGE: Set the display language for days of the week.
To exit settings, select "EXIT" and press button B.
Charging Your Watch
The watch uses a solar cell to charge its rechargeable cell. Expose the dial to light (direct sunlight or fluorescent lamps) for charging.
- Place the watch in bright locations, even when not in use.
- Expose to direct sunlight for 5-6 hours weekly.
- Avoid prolonged periods in darkness.
Charging Precautions
Do not charge at high temperatures (above 60°C/140°F) to prevent malfunction. Keep adequate distance from heat sources.
Charging Time by Environment
Approximate charging times vary by light source (sunny outdoors, cloudy outdoors, fluorescent lamp, interior lighting). Direct sunlight is recommended for efficient charging.
Power Save Function
Hands stop and LCD turns off in darkness to save power. The watch resumes normal operation when exposed to light or operated.
Troubleshooting

- Movement of a hand seems strange: Check for low power reserve (charge the watch), or incorrect reference position.
- Time/calendar is abnormal: Check area settings, DST settings, adjust time/calendar, or correct reference position.
- LCD indication is turned off: Indicates low power reserve; charge the watch.
- World time issues: Use "SELECT CITY" to show desired areas.
- Chronograph/Timer unexpectedly stops: Changing to SETTING mode stops these functions.
- No alarm sound: Check alarm settings and perform sound check.
Checking and Correcting the Reference Position
This procedure is for when hands and LCD show different times, or the second hand doesn't reset to 00.
Reference Position: The base position for all hands to indicate time correctly (e.g., second hand at 00 seconds, hour/minute/second hands at 00:00:00).
- Change to SETTING mode.
- Select "HAND POSITION" using A/C, confirm with B.
- Check current reference positions against the illustration.
- If incorrect, select "TO CORRECT" and press B.
- Adjust hand positions using A/C, confirm with B. Adjust in order: Function hand, UTC, hour/minute/24-hour hands, second hand.
- Press and hold B for 2+ seconds to save settings.
- Select "EXIT" and press B to return to CALENDAR mode.
All Reset
Resets all settings to default. Charge the watch first if power is insufficient.
- Press and hold buttons A, B, and C simultaneously for 4+ seconds.
- After reset, correct reference positions (step 5 onwards on page 11) and adjust time/calendar (page 4).
Default settings after reset include time at 00:00:00, date Jan 01, 2024, UTC time zone, standard time, and New York world time.
Eco-Drive Watch Handling Precautions
Always recharge frequently. Avoid high temperatures during charging. Handle the rechargeable cell with care; do not dispose of with regular trash. Use only the specified battery.
Water Resistance
Refer to the watch dial/case back for water resistance rating (e.g., W.R. 5 bar). The manual provides a table detailing water-related uses for different ratings, from non-water resistant to 20 atmospheres.
