How To Create MSI Recovery Image and Restore System with MSI Center Pro
MSI recommends all users to back up the system in case of most errors. For models with a pre-installed Windows system, MSI Center Pro provides "System Restoration" & "MSI Recovery" options for creating a restore point and system backup image. This document outlines the differences between "System Restoration" and "MSI Recovery".
System Restoration
Creates a system restore point when the system is running properly. When the system encounters any problems, it allows you to revert to an earlier restore point, keeping all files and settings intact.
How to create/manage system restore point?
Note: It is suggested to create system restore points regularly. Current Windows builds might not allow downgrading to an earlier build, potentially causing restore points to fail if created too long ago.
- Go to MSI Center Pro > System Analysis > System Restoration.
- Enable "Turn on system protection".
- Click on "Create Restore Point". (This action opens a dialog box within MSI Center Pro).
- Enter a description for the restore point in the provided text field.
- Click on the "Create" button to finalize the restore point creation.
How to restore the system to the previous restore point?
- Go to MSI Center Pro > System Analysis > System Restoration.
- Click on the restore icon associated with the desired restore point.
- Click on the "Restore" button to initiate the system restoration process to the selected point. A confirmation dialog will appear.
