Troubleshooting Your LG Washer Dryer Combo Unit for Improved Drying Performance

Step 1: Understand the Combo Unit's Drying Capacity

Why: Washer/dryer combo units are ventless and use a different drying system that is more energy-efficient but may take longer to dry clothes.

How: Reduce your load size to about half of what you would use in a standard washer and dryer. Consider using a time dry setting for drier clothes.

Step 2: Inspect and Clean the Drain Pump Filter

Why: The washer/dryer combo uses condense drying to dry clothing. If the filter is clogged, this will cause poor draining and cause clothing to remain wet, affecting drying efficiency.

How: Remove the lint filter and check for dirt both on the filter and underneath it. Clean the filter after every load. Once a month, ensure water can run through the filter. If not, gently rinse it with warm water and dish soap to remove any residue.

Step 5: Clean the Humidity Sensor Bar

Why: The humidity sensor bar detects if clothes are still wet and needs to be clean to function correctly.

How: Ensure the unit is off and cool, then locate the sensor bar inside the drum, near the lint filter. Clean the sensor bar once per month.
