Toshiba Presents New High-Speed 2-Channel Digital Isolators for Automotive
The device supports stable operation with high common-mode transient immunity, ensuring the safety and reliability of onboard chargers and battery management systems.
Düsseldorf, Germany, June 19, 2025 – Toshiba Electronics Europe GmbH (“Toshiba”) is expanding its portfolio of isolation devices with four new high-speed, 2-channel digital isolators qualified to AEC-Q100. The new DCM32xx00 series supports stable operation with high common-mode transient immunity (CMTI) of 100 kV/µs (typ.) and a data transmission rate of 50 Mbps (max.). These devices ensure the safety and reliability of onboard chargers (OBC) and battery management systems (BMS) used in hybrid electric vehicles (HEV) and electric vehicles (EV).
The DCM32xx00 series utilizes Toshiba’s proprietary magnetic coupling technology, providing high CMTI of 100 kV/µs (typ.) with supply voltages (VDD1=VDD2) from 3.0V to 5.0V and a common-mode voltage (VCM) of 1500 V. The devices are resistant to common-mode noise at the input and output nodes, providing stable control signals for reliable equipment operation.
The 2-channel devices offer flexible configuration options: 2 forward channels, 1 forward and 1 reverse channel. They feature low pulse width distortion of 0.8 ns (typ.) and are suitable for high-speed communication applications, such as I/O interfaces with CAN (Controller Area Network) communication interfaces.
Product Availability and Information
The DCM32xx00 series of 2-channel digital isolators is available in the narrow 8-pin SOIC8-N package and offers stable operation between -40°C and +125°C. Toshiba will continue to expand its range of channels and packages for automotive and industrial applications.
