Toshiba Launches High-Speed 2-Channel Digital Isolators for Automotive Applications
Düsseldorf, Germany – June 19, 2025 – Toshiba Electronics Europe GmbH (“Toshiba”) is expanding its isolation device lineup with four high-speed, 2-channel digital isolators certified to AEC-Q100. The new DCM32xx00 series ensures stable operation with high common-mode transient immunity (CMTI) of 100 kV/µs (typ.) at data rates up to 50 Mbit/s (max.). These devices enhance the safety and reliability of on-board chargers (OBC) and battery management systems (BMS) used in hybrid electric vehicles (HEV) and electric vehicles (EV).
Key Features and Benefits
Leveraging Toshiba’s proprietary magnetic coupling technology, the DCM32xx00 series achieves a high CMTI of 100 kV/µs (typ.) at supply voltages (VDD1=VDD2) from 3.0 V to 5.0 V, with a common-mode voltage (VCM) of 1500 V. These components are resistant to common-mode noise at input and output nodes, providing stable equipment control signals for reliable operation.
The 2-channel devices offer flexible configuration options: 2 direct channels, or 1 direct channel and 1 isolated channel. They provide low pulse width distortion of 0.8 ns (typ.) and are suitable for high-speed communication applications, such as I/O interfaces with CAN (Control Area Network) communications.
The DCM32xx00 series of 2-channel digital isolators is available in a narrow 8-pin SOIC8-N package and ensures stable operation between -40 °C and +125 °C. Toshiba will continue to expand its range of channels and packages for automotive and industrial equipment.
