NetumScan Quick Setup Guide

How to Start

1. Connect the scanner to your device via USB cable.
2. Setup keyboard language: If you use a US keyboard, it is plug and play. If you use another type of keyboard, scan the command barcode for your keyboard language from this manual. Refer to the "Keyboard Language" section for more details.
3. Locate the cursor on the place where you want the scanner to output the data.

Once these steps are completed, you can start scanning.

Programming Codes

Netum barcode scanners are factory programmed for the most common terminal and communications settings. To change these settings, scan the appropriate barcodes in this guide. An asterisk (*) indicates the default setting.

Important Notes

This scanner has a large scanning range. Ensure you cover the codes close to the one you intend to scan to prevent accidental scanning.

Factory Defaults

Scan the following barcode to revert all settings to factory defaults:

USB Interface (Optional)

USB HID-KBW

By default, the scanner operates in HID (Human Interface Device) mode as a Keyboard device. It functions on a Plug and Play basis, requiring no driver installation.

USB Serial

When connecting the scanner to a host via USB, the USB COM Port Emulation feature allows the host to receive data as if it were connected via a serial port. For Microsoft Windows PCs, a driver must be downloaded from the official Netum website: www.netum.net.

Keyboard Languages

Follow the instructions below to configure the keyboard language before use. For example, if you use a French keyboard, scan the command barcode for "French keyboard". If you use a US keyboard, you can skip this step.

Symbology

Some barcode types are not enabled by default as they are not commonly used. You need to activate a command barcode to enable them.

• Question: Are there any barcodes for applying or removing suffixes?
  Answer: Yes, visit the official website "netum.net" to download the complete manual and refer to the "Prefix and Suffix" section, or contact customer service for assistance.
• Question: How to solve the messy code problem when using foreign languages?
  Answer: The default keyboard language is English. If you use other keyboard types, please refer to the "Keyboard Language" section.
• Problem: Some barcodes cannot be read.
  Solution:
  1. Dirty or unclear barcodes may not be read.
  2. The setting for some less common barcode types might be disabled by default. Activate the specific barcode type to enable it. Contact NetumScan for help.
