Operating Instructions

This 2 zone programmer is designed to provide ON/OFF control for 2 zones, with the value added application of in-built frost protection.

1. Factory default settings

Program: 5/2D

Backlight: On

Keypad: Unlocked

Frost Protection: Off

2. Factory program settings

This section details the factory pre-set programs for different modes.

3. Resetting the programmer

It is necessary to press the RESET button prior to initial programming. This button is located behind the cover on the front of the unit.

4. Setting the date and time

To set the date and time:

1. Lower the cover on the front of the unit.
2. Move the selector switch to the CLOCK SET position. (Visual: Selector switch with options RUN, CLOCK SET, PROG SET)
3. Press the [+] or [-] buttons to select the day. Press [OK].
4. Press the [+] or [-] buttons to select the month. Press [OK].
5. Press the [+] or [-] buttons to select the year. Press [OK].
6. Press the [+] or [-] buttons to select the hour. Press [OK].
7. Press the [+] or [-] buttons to select the minute. Press [OK].
8. Press the [+] or [-] buttons to select the mode (5/2D, 7D, or 24H). Press [OK].

The date, time, and function are now set. Move the selector switch to the RUN position to run the program, or to the PROG SET position to change the program settings.

5. ON/OFF period selection

There are 4 modes available on this programmer for users to choose for their individual application:

• AUTO: The programmer operates 3 'ON/OFF' periods per day.
• ALL DAY: The programmer operates 1 'ON/OFF' period per day. This operates from the first ON time to the third OFF time.
• ON: The programmer is permanently on.
• OFF: The programmer is permanently off.

To change the mode for Zone 1, lower the cover, then press the [ZONE 1 SELECT] button to cycle through AUTO / ALL DAY / ON / OFF. Repeat this process for Zone 2 by pressing the [ZONE 2 SELECT] button.

6. Adjusting the program settings

To adjust program settings:

1. Lower the cover on the front of the unit.
2. Move the selector switch to the PROG SET position. (Visual: Selector switch with options RUN, CLOCK SET, PROG SET)
3. You can now program Zone 1. Press the [+] or [-] buttons to adjust the P1 ON time. Press [OK].
4. Press the [+] or [-] buttons to adjust the P1 OFF time. Press [OK].
5. Repeat this process to adjust the ON & OFF times for P2 & P3.
6. Press the [ZONE 2 SELECT] button and repeat the above process to adjust for Zone 2.

When completed, move the selector switch to the RUN position.

7. Copy function

This function may only be used if the programmer is in the 7-day mode.

1. Lower the cover on the front of the programmer.
2. Move the selector switch to the PROG SET position. (Visual: Selector switch with options RUN, CLOCK SET, PROG SET)
3. Set the ON & OFF times for the day of the week you wish to copy from.
4. Press and hold the [COPY] button for 2 seconds. The next day of the week will begin to flash.
5. Press the [+] button to copy the ON & OFF times to this day.
6. Press the [-] button to skip a day.
7. ON & OFF times can be copied to multiple days by using the [+] button.
8. Press the [OK] button when copying has been completed.

When completed, move the selector switch to the RUN position.

8. Reviewing the program settings

To review program settings:

1. Lower the cover on the front of the unit.
2. Move the selector switch to the PROG SET position. (Visual: Selector switch with options RUN, CLOCK SET, PROG SET)
3. By pressing [OK], this will review each of the ON/OFF times for P1 to P3 for Zone 1.
4. Repeat this process to review the ON/OFF times for Zone 2 by pressing [ZONE 2 SELECT] and then pressing [OK].

When completed, move the selector switch to the RUN position.

9. Boost function

This function allows the user to extend the ON period for 1, 2, or 3 hours. If the zone that you wish to Boost is timed to be OFF, you have the facility to switch it ON for 1, 2, or 3 hours.

• Press the [ZONE 1 BOOST] button once, twice, or three times for Zone 1 to extend the ON period by 1, 2, or 3 hours respectively.
• Press the [ZONE 2 BOOST] button once, twice, or three times for Zone 2 to extend the ON period by 1, 2, or 3 hours respectively.

To cancel the boost function, simply press the respective boost button again.

10. Advance function

This function allows the user to bring forward the next switching time.

• If the zone is currently timed to be OFF and the [ZONE ADV] button is pressed, the zone will be switched ON until the end of the next switching time.
• If the zone is currently timed to be ON and the [ZONE ADV] button is pressed, the zone will be switched OFF until the end of the next switching time.

Press the [ZONE 1 ADV] button for Zone 1, and [ZONE 2 ADV] button for Zone 2. To cancel the ADVANCE function, simply press the respective ADV button again.

11. Holiday mode

To set Holiday mode:

1. Lower the cover on the front of the unit.
2. Move the selector switch to the RUN position. (Visual: Selector switch with options RUN, CLOCK SET, PROG SET)
3. Press the [Holiday] button. The current date and time will flash on the screen.
4. Enter the date and time when you plan to return. Press the [+] or [-] buttons to adjust the holiday period required. Press [OK].

The programmer is now switched OFF for the selected number of days. By pressing the [Holiday] button again, this will cancel the holiday mode, thereby returning the programmer to the normal settings.

12. Backlight mode selection

There are two settings for selection. The factory default setting is ON.

• ON: The backlight is permanently ON.
• AUTO: On pressing any button, the backlight stays on for 10 seconds.

To adjust the backlight setting:

1. Lower the cover on the front of the unit.
2. Move the selector switch to the RUN position. (Visual: Selector switch with options RUN, CLOCK SET, PROG SET)
3. Press the [OK] button for 5 seconds.
4. Press either the [+] or [-] buttons to select the ON or AUTO mode.
5. Press the [OK] button to confirm.

13. Keypad lock and unlock

To lock the keypad: Press and hold the [OK] and [Holiday] buttons for 5 seconds. The ? will appear on the screen. The keypad is now locked.

To unlock the keypad: Press and hold the [OK] and [Holiday] buttons for 5 seconds. The ? will disappear from the screen. The keypad is now unlocked.

14. Frost protection function

Selectable range: 5~20°C. This function is set to protect pipes against freezing or to prevent low room temperature when the programmer is programmed to be OFF or is manually OFF.

Frost protection can be activated by following the procedure below:

1. Move the selector switch to the RUN position. (Visual: Selector switch with options RUN, CLOCK SET, PROG SET)
2. Press and hold both the [+] and [-] buttons for 5 seconds to enter selection mode.
3. Press either the [+] or [-] buttons to turn On or turn Off frost protection.
4. Press the [OK] button to confirm.
5. Press either the [+] or [-] buttons to increase or decrease the desired frost protection setpoint.
6. Press the [OK] button to select.

Both HOT WATER and HEATING zones will be switched ON in the event of room temperature falling below the frost protection setpoint.

When frost protection is enabled, "Frost" will be visible on the screen. When frost protection is activated, "Frost" will flash on the screen.

15. Master reset

To perform a master reset:

1. Lower the cover on the front of the programmer.
2. There are four hinges holding the cover in place. Between the 3rd and 4th hinges, there is a circular hole.
3. Insert a ballpoint pen or similar object into the hole to master reset the programmer.

After pressing the master reset button, the date and time will need to be reprogrammed.
